What happens after a bomb detonates? The action happens, and everything is destroyed. Time stops, and the only thing that matters is survival. But how do you come back from the ruins? How do you manage when everything has been wiped away, and replaced by carnage? When you're in a monogamous marriage, an affair is a bomb. It hurts as much as any bullet. Anyone within the vicinity of its destruction can become collateral damage, and it takes a remarkable kind of love to mend the wounds. Eli and Demi Lane have to heal from the damage caused by Eli’s breach of trust, but is the devastation too much for redemption? While Eli and Demi try to recover, their therapist, Dr. Malcolm Colson, learns that the effects of his own taboo detonation will be far more than he ever bargained for.

Reread 4/13/2022... Original review still works...
Wow! This comes darn close to being my cheating husband unicorn. I can’t believe I just typed those words.
Six months after finding out her husband had a drunken ONS with his secretary, the wife is still angry, frustrated and not moving on. Husband has repeatedly apologized and now he’s getting pissed off too. It’s time for therapy.
What comes out of couple and individual therapy is exactly what I look for in a cheating book…
1. He’s sorry. 2. She’s still angry and grieving. 3. No sex for 6 months, she won’t let him touch her. 4. He doesn’t understand why she can’t move on. 5. Final blow up leaves them close to splitting up. 6. Therapist tells hubby constant apologies just reminds her of what the husband did. 7. Hubby needs to fix his attitude and accept… a. She may not forgive him. b. He’s completely at fault, even if he were unhappy, cheating is not justified. c. He has handed 100% of his relationship power to his wife, ultimately, she will decide to forgive and move forward or end the marriage. 8. Hubby finally understands and makes lifestyle changes.
Boom! That’s it. 🦄
So, I now have to mention the therapist’s story is an overarching part of the book. This is book 3 of 4. I’m not into BDSM, but I may end up reading the series…. I like the therapist, the BDSM not so much.
I have so far enjoyed The Therapist series. For some reason, I just didn’t feel like I enjoyed this book as much as the others.
In The Fallout, we meet Eli and Demi Lane, who seek Dr. Colsons' help with their marriage after Eli’s infidelity. The couple just didn’t do it for me. I wanted to feel their raw and emotional pain, and I didn’t. Eli seemed too much of a child to me at times.
Malcolm is in therapy to get over the end of his relationship. But what he finds is something totally different. This apart of the book is what kept me going and continue to read the book.
Hub(H) cheated on wife (h) with his secretary during a business trip. He doesn’t tell her he cheated, instead he had sex with the h 72hrs after he cheated. Condom or no condom not mentioned in the book.🤮 The h finds out about the cheating from the ow text on his phone.
So the husband cheated with his secretary on a business trip. It was one time, they both were drunk. After that the secretary quits. After the wife sees an incriminating text on husbands phone, she calls the OW and asks if she f’d her husband. The OW says she’s very sorry and hangs up. That’s the extent of her appearance. H is in the dog house. Six months later, h still won't let him touch her. She tries to pretend all is good, but flips out when H touches her. A lot of good scenes with H being all it was six months ago and h being all I wanna c*t *ff you d**k. So they start seeing the therapist who gives them advice on how to deal with it and stuff H needs to do to stop being a d**khead. Eventually HEA.

Intriguing, impressive, insightful, uplifting and intensely erotic Wow! Way beyond what I was expecting. So refreshing that a man's take on Infidelity was so wise, insightful and serious yet uplifting. This duel saga highlights Malcolm wearing both his therapist hat and Dom\client hat.The reader gets essentially two complex storylines for the price of one.We delve inside the therapists mind from both sides of the aisle. Malcolm as client delves into his role as the controlling Dominant and as therapist he treats a couple rocked by a husband's infidelity. It is a deep, impressive, heartbreaking dive! This gentleman has mad skills and I will no doubt be delving his entire catalogue!
This was a pretty good book. I love that Eli and Demi are able to work things out even though they end up apart. I hate that Eli cheated, and I hate that he keeps blaming it on her. I hate how he kept treating her like crap until she actually listened to her therapist and realized that it's not her fault. I hate that she finds out he lied to her and was actually talking with someone else. I hate Ava so much and how she tries to ruin everything for the therapist. I love that he meets Everly and how they start dating and doing stuff together.
The Fallout is now my favourite book in this series to date and has left me even more excited to read Toxic when it releases in September.
I have loved witnessing Dr. Malcolm Colson helping his patients in the previous two books, but I couldn’t help become very fond of Dani and Eli who are the couple seeking help from Malcolm in this instalment. I absolutely loved how the author wrote this couple’s story - I was able to understand what Dani was feeling since losing the trust she once fully had in her husband, and I really wanted Malcolm to work his magic and set this couple back on the road to a long and happy marriage. I felt that the strategies and advice that Malcolm was giving the couple were very well researched and I appreciated the outcome of their therapy.
At the end of Shameless (the second book in the series) we saw Malcolm terminate his personal relationship with Ava and I wasn’t expecting this to go without any repercussions. Malcolm has been missing what he feels only Ava can give him and therefore struggling to not make contact with her and I was very surprised when he found a way to overcome those urges. I wasn’t expecting the events that unfolded and I cannot wait to see what the future holds.
I am absolutely loving this series. I love that each book sees Malcolm trying to help new patients with different issues whilst trying to navigate his own life too. I have a feeling that in the next book, things are about to get a little ‘toxic’ for Malcolm…. we shall see!
Nice show of the two sides of the cheating coin. For Demi, there is way more involved than just the act. For Eli, it was just a mistake and his sincere apologies should be enough to absolve him. Ava was a crazy incident waiting to happen, and it happened. Looking forward to book 4
This series just keeps giving and giving. With each book, we encounter a new patient/patients that Dr. Malcolm Colson tries to help. But although he is a fantastic doctor he has his own demons and troubles. As this series continues you get more and more insight as to who Malcolm Colson the man is. Following on from the end of the last book, this is quite literally the fallout, for him and who he is.
This book focuses on Dani and Eli a couple that is at breaking point dealing with infidelity. This series is so interesting as it involves dual storylines. The journey and growth of Dani and Eli and again Dr. Colson. It is really great to read. The emotions and feelings you get from this book are strangely weird and it often feels like you are the one in therapy. I never discuss or divulge any information on the actual stories in my reviews as I feel a book needs to be read first hand.
This book is a total recommendation from me. It will keep you gripped, hoping, and wanting. It very clever and unlike any series, I have read before.
I’m giving one the cheating part of the story was short and gross. The H is feeling frustrated with h’s long hours goes on business strip with secretary and fucks her. No talks if condoms or STD questions. He regrets it but goes home after the trip and fucks wife. Does not tell her she sees text from secretary basically saying she won’t tell it was a mistake but he’s hot and it was great and wife is lucky. She calls her and asks her did you fuck my wife? H comes in during the OW says sorry and hangs up. She confronts the H so the H was not going tell her and had sex with her not long after the OW so he was not concerned about his health or more importantly hers. The story jumps six month h is struggling to move on and H keeps apologizing but subconsciously his blaming h for him cheating in the first place. They go to therapy. So here is the thing we did not get H’s POV instead we got the therapist POV and his story which I guess is setting up for the next book. The thing is it took away from the main couples story instead that felt like it was half fleshed out. A few statements to H and h here and there but I was left wondering how they moved on. Why did h want to stay besides love? It was very disjointed and where it was lacking detail on their journey and the H’s POV it left me with no confidence in their love or his ability to keep it in his pants the next time something is going on in their relationship.

Wow!! I’m not sure how it keeps getting better and better but each book has been a rollercoaster ride of emotions and learning for me. It’s still a very unique series and each book follows different paths. I loved the couple in this story because not all couples that face what Eli and Demi are facing are willing to try, but Dr. Malcolm steps in again to try and guide another couple while they try to find trust and love again. I loved how we got to see a different take on infidelity between partners and how it does not always mean an end but maybe a way to rediscover each other, learn to forgive, and fight for love. It’s not easy for them especially for Demi as she has to make the hardest decision of her relationship, but it was a unique look at love and I enjoyed watching them try to figure it out. Also Dr Malcolm trying to navigate his own personal life and the issues he has been facing was interesting because the turn of events and crazy Ava showing up again was fun to read about. I can’t wait for more and am very excited to see what journey the next couple and Dr Malcolm take us on.
Malcom is back at it Saving another relationship while figuring out his own life and relationship. When Demi and Eli come into have help after a bomb of a mistake happens in their marriage can Dr. Malcom Colson help them work through it or will their marriage end In divorce? What about Malcom? What happens when he needs to seek advice with a therapist to help him to figure out his own throughout and feelings.
I can’t get over how W.S. Greer has made me feel in this series. This whole book was heavy! I felt like I was in therapy working and doing the work with these characters! If you’ve ever done therapy then you know what it means to put the work in and how emotionally draining it can be and I felt like he put me in there with them and feeling like I’m there and crying with them too! I can’t recommend this series enough!!
Extremely well done story of infidelity and second chance. The H had a ONS with his secretary who admitted their 'mistake' in a text message to his phone which was read by the h. Without marriage counseling, I do not believe the H would have ever understood the magnitude of his betrayal or have been able to accept that the consequences were his to own. The h was devastated down to her soul and angered by the plenitful 'I'm sorry, but let's move on' attitude of the H.
The description of the therapy session was spot on. The one on one with the H finally penetrated his pride and ego and defensiveness.
The side story involving the 2 therapist and Ava did not, as feared, detract from the main story.
Two concurrent stories made the relationship/redemption arc not as indepth as it could have been. There was no POV from the cheating husband which would have been helpful in terms of judging his sincerity and remorse.
The timeline for reconciliation was also not realistic, especially since there seemed to be only a handful of therapy sessions. It would have been good to see more from the couple after the moment of reconciliation. The actual story is 2 stars for me because there was so much missed potential. The extra star is because the cheating was the type that I can tolerate - once, immediately regretted, off page and before the story begins. Most importantly, the OW is out of the picture immediately.
Having never experienced cheating or needing a therapist I wouldn't know if this is how quick a resolution could be found. I do believe he's sorry and bought into her feelings of betrayal. I just didn't buy the time scale of the therapy. I think I needed more. Joining the couple 6 months after his mistake was too late for my liking. I would have preferred to have read more about their struggles up to the point of deciding to use therapy. Having said that, the author did a good job of expressing both the H/h frustration with where they were at. I'm not sure what the first 2 books are about, so it may be that I should have read from book 1 first. It's an easy quick read, though I know I won't be looking for anymore in the series.
Dr Malcolm Colson returns in this third addition to The therapist series. In this story, Malcolm provides therapy to a married couple at breaking point after infidelity.can he help the, find their way back to one another? Meanwhile, Malcolm is in therapy himself and must come to terms with the end of his relationship. Can the attractive Dr Monroe help him control his dominant side? THE FALLOUT is a terrific read that depicts sensitive topics with honesty and compassion. I loved the dual storylines. The book is written well and will draw in the reader
In this series, the books are portraying 2 stories. The therapist (Malcom Colson) and a couple, the patient. The client: 1. He cheated and instead of being an affair it was a "mistake". 2. In 6 months she couldn't support the touch of him, but in 1 month everything was forgiven. 3. "Some people's love isn't enough to surpass this but ours is" ??? LIKE WTF
The therapist: If you have a routine and always do the same thing went you get home why wouldn't you think that your crazy ex-girlfriend was moving stuff around???
This was an interesting story! I haven't read the other books in the series, but I wasn't lost. There are two running storylines, one with the therapist and the other about a couple he's counseling. The storyline with the couple was fascinating. It was a realistic look at the damage an affair can cause, it's definitely one of the best "cheating" stories I've read.
Overall this was a winner, I'd recommend to those who can handle cheating stories.
This book covered the depths of emotions very well. I would have liked more info on the progress of the new relationship. Hopefully, that will be covered in Toxic with a happy ending. So far the moody decisions have left some anxiety for the characters and great cliff hangers for us.
I enjoyed this story regarding the couple dealing with infidelity. I wish we could have gotten to see more of what happened in the future for the couple but the story still ended on a good note for them.
This one kind of made me lose a little interest in the whole story. I'm not sure why, just the way I feel. Ava definitely needs help. I can't believe it's been happening for that long, and he didn't think to check everything in the house with what was going on.
