Morgan Holland is a poacher’s daughter looking for a way out of the swamp. She’s been making secret moves to relocate, but it seems like every time she takes a step forward, she gets shoved two steps back. Her dad and friends are on the hunt for the Shifters, and they’re closing in fast. She doesn’t know Liam Lachlan, but he’s in danger, and she’ll take a huge risk to warn him. She’s walking a fine line that could get her in deep trouble with both sides. But the more time she spends with Liam, the more she wants to keep him safe—even if it means risking her own life and the future she’s been fighting for.
Liam Lachlan is one of the legendary gator shifters in the swamps of Uncertain. He’s been quiet about what he is all these years, but rumor has it some poachers have figured him out and are hunting him. Good. Bring it. It’s been a while since he had a good war. Only problem is, the girl who warned him is the daughter of the biggest, baddest poacher in the swamps, and hurting her people means demolishing her. If it’s up to the gator in him, he’ll put an end to anyone who is hunting his family. But the man in him will stop at nothing to keep Morgan safe.
Two worlds collide in the Swamps of Uncertain in this thrilling second installment of T. S. Joyce’s Keepers of the Swamp series…and these gators are just getting started.

The Hero:Liam - he is one of two gator shifters in his town, the other being his cousin Holt. Though they didn’t spend much time together as two alpha alligators tend to not get along. The alligator poachers and shifter haters had been out in force lately, especially since it came out that Holt was a gator shifter. Seamus Holland and his friends are determined to kill all the gators they can, especially the gator shifters in the area.
The heroine:Morgan - she is daughter of Seamus Holland, the poacher. She grew up in the swamps and has always been told that she is nothing, so she believes it. She dreams of having a life of her own where she can make her own decisions and pay her own way. She is working at the local bar and restaurant called Tacky’s though her dad takes most of her money. But she has been slowly saving and when she had enough to get an apartment, she was planning to leave. She was sick of cooking and cleaning for her dad and all of his poacher friends.
The story: This was a good one, Morgan was mistreated by her father and her old friend Cal, who is now one of the poachers in her fathers little gang. She just wanted freedom, but when she started talking to Liam, even though she was brought up to hate him and all shifters, she was smarter than that and sees him as a person. She chooses not to keep up with the bigotry and bias of her family and learns that real family can be those you select and not those who you are born to.
This was a pretty short book at only 200 pages, but I really enjoyed the story. The characters were terrific, and world building was on point. I also loved the supporting characters, like Holt, Bre, the grandmother swamp witch, the old guy who owns the gas station and more. There is one more book in this series and I plan to read that one, I just wish there were more.
This one is a bit of a Romeo and Juliet story, only with a gator shifter and the daughter of a poacher. I loved that Morgan wasn't like her family, in fact she sort of hated them and how for years she kept Liam's big secret. I thought more would come of Liam learning that, but instead he fooled us and Morgan because he knew.
I think that alone helped Liam believe Morgan when she called to warn them what her father was up to. With that one call Morgan picked a side, it just sucked that it took to the end of the book for her to be able to fully get on that side. But through it all Liam and the rest of them were there for Morgan, the family she needed.

I’m so excited that this book came out today😁 I honestly never thought I’d like reading about any other type of shifter besides the usual bears and wolves that T.S. Joyce wrote about, but I am loving this series💕
Morgan is the daughter of a poacher and as the years go by, she’s been forced to become less than...because of her family. She witnessed Liam Change a few years before and never told a soul and now when she believes his life is in danger because of her poaching family, she does the only thing that’s right....she goes to warn them❣️
Liam’s 🐊 is always fighting or trying to gain more territory and is the reason he and Holt never used to interact more. Until Morgan gives him the warning, he’s always tried to make sure he doesn’t get involved with anyone, that is until now when she shows him what she’s made of😁
Loved this story and the next one in the series is going to be a super surprise.....even I didn’t see it coming🤩🙂
The second book in the series and it has a little more spice and fire than the first. I loved it!!! Not only did we get a whole knee love story but we also got to check in on all our fave characters from the first novel.
Synopsis: talk about opposites attracts! A alligator shifter and a poachers daughter falling in love and fighting for each other? PERFECTION.
Triggers: alcoholism, parental abuse, abuse from males (not the hero)
Read if you love an easy read romance and a happy ever after.
I love this series. I was very skeptical because well... alligators... as far as shifters go that is cold blooded not sexy. But I have to admit to of course maybe being wrong in the sense of the cold blooded part. Liam is sexy and amazing. He’s guarded but as soon as he starts really looking at Morgan and seeing the person not just where she’s from the protective gator comes more to the surface on the same side a the man. They are 2 sides of the same coin. Morgan and Liam both are trying to not be judged for where they are from or what they are but on who they are instead. I can’t wait for the next book! I hope Cal and Morgan’s dad get what’s coming to them!
*WARNING* contains sexual content Liam was losing more control if his beastly gator. Liam knew the older he got, the worse his gator would get unless he found someone to protect. Morgan is the poacher's daughter. Morgan has no life other than work, and cooking for her dad and his vile friends. Morgan wants to get out of there, she doesn't agreed with what her dad says or does. This little town rallies together to save/help its own, I like that most about this book. The main characters support each other equally (a plus for me). The next book has me intrigued, Fargo the dog gets a story. Great book.
The only downside I’ve ever found with any of Tera’s books is that they are just too short! Every new book is another couple to love. I love that Liam doesn’t change Morgan, he just shows her who she really is. Morgan was raised to hate everything that Liam is, she thinks her life has been chosen for her. She learns to trust her instincts and to find her inner strength. Liam believes it’s best to be alone, but Morgan will show him how wrong he is. Another winner from Ms. T.S. Joyce
Morgan is a poachers daughter but doesn't agree with their ways. Liam and his gatah has taken a shine to Morgan but will they get on. Find out by reading,. Great story of how two people from different sides can get on and how small minded some people can be. Another excellent read.
T.S. Joyce is an incredibly talented author. Every single shifter story she writes is filled with magic. This story was both amazing and heartbreaking. We live in a world where being different is looked down on. I wish we could just learn to love one another.
3.5 Stars. Really liked Morgan and Liam. And liking this swamp family. Could have used more, or longer chapters, in the end. Felt a bit rushed. But really liked the overall story and the couple.
I loved the first book in this series so much that I read this one right away...and, even though I still enjoyed the story, this one just wasn’t as good as the first. It was very short, with too few details about the characters to really care one way or the other about them. Some of the plot elements were ghostly copies of the first book (special place to show her, buying her a present, taking her to see Raina, etc) but it wasn’t so bad that it took away from the story.
Which brings me to the end....it was extremely abrupt and jarring and I can’t really say I understand what happened at all.
BUT...it was still a fun and entertaining read and if an author can hook me and make me smile with so few words they must be talented indeed.
It's easy to like canine, feline, and ursine shifters. Mythical creatures? Sure! But an author who can make the reader fall for ALLIGATORS is next-level!! T. S. Joyce presents Morgan, an abused daughter of a poacher, and Liam, a soul-weary alligator shifter who is targeted as prey. Neither is as broken as they think; they've managed to retain deep cores of honor and caring — and in Morgan's case, a rather touching and fragile dignity — that draws the reader in. I love the balance of humor in the story; some (not all!) of the comedy is dialed back to leave space for ratcheting up the intensity. I enjoyed "Dig Deeper," and it loses half a star only because of editing laxity and an incomplete HEA. I am eager to read Book Three in this series!
As a poacher’s daughter, Morgan Holland’s painted with the same brush and she’s tired of all the swampers’ claiming to be her family, especially the pushy idiot that keeps telling her they’re going to get married. Morgan’s got plans that don’t include them, they just want to kill gators. They’re only gators at night, they’re humans all day!
Liam’s curiosity is peaked, when he gets a message Morgan’s family is hunting his, he has to know more about Morgan! A brief encounter stirs attraction in them both. At home, Morgan’s rushed by the would-be fiancé, slipping a ring on her finger, forbidding her to speak to Liam before he leaves. That’s not Morgan’s plan at all! Rating: 3.75stars
Liam is being hunted by poachers, it’s what happens deep in the swamps. Things are changing, the poachers are more determined than ever. Morgan has been invisible her entire life. She is a poachers daughter, what kind of life is that when you have a moral compass? Protecting her from her dad and his swamp friends, has just become Liam’s primary duty! This was yet another great Shifter story from TS Joyce, steamy and sexy as ever. Check it out today!
Dig Deeper is Liam and Morgan’s love story. Their story is about family. Family is not always from blood. Confidence In yourself, and love. I love this series and can’t wait to read the next book, Bite Deeper. Once you start reading, you’ll be hooked. You’ll want to read all of T.S. Joyce’s series. Loved them all!
I thought I loved Holt a lot...well his cuz might give him a run for his money. There's something more laissez-faire about him that I loved. I also thought him & Morgan were a great set up since he say her value even while everyone was trying to tear her down. It was lovely also to see her stand up for herself and grab at her happiness instead of letting people get her down!
This was OK. Not as good as I remember the author or the series but it was fine.
I think my problem was I just couldn't recall what had happened previously. I don't remember when u read the first book but it's been ages I feel so it took a minute to get into it.
The story is quite short but it's a nice romance in the end.
Liam gets a story in book two he is a cousin to Holt and as kids was great friends but as adults both are to alpha to be in each others space, but mates can calm them, when Morgan warns them about incoming evil. It pulls them together along with morgan. A interesting storyline and different approach to shifters needed the water at night. (Well this kind)
Great follow up in the series. We continue with the other Lachlan gator man as he find his place. He finds something more in a VERY unlikely place. Maybe one day they will find peace. Enjoy how the story unfolds and there is a teaser of something bigger beyond the poachers.
Morgan Holland swamp girl has been hiding a big secret for over 3 years but when danger comes for Gahter Liam Lachlan, Morgan alerts his family and choses his over her own. Great shifter story with a HEA.
I’m really enjoying this little series. It’s a bit different from other Shifters as this time they’re alligators and even maybe a witch. There’s plenty of action and there is sexual content.
Alert! Cliffhanger! Lol Following T's release date reading order still Oh! What a storyline, crazy poachers, swap witch, super large dog, Gathors and find family. Ah! This one was awesome...well they all are. Still get the book and the last one in this series too.
This was a cute shorter book. Outlines some more ways humans are trash, but also how some good can still be found in those struggling under the evil weight. And I liked how Liam understood her need to try and do things herself, but was there for her to fall on.
I loved Liam. He was such a strong and safe person. He helped Morgan in getting voice back. He did so many things for her. These two are so great together. I loved this book!
