Neatly explains the classification of body, mind and spirit and proposes simple methods to bring forth clarity of mind to be able to experience the supreme consciousness. Some explanations of dream states, consciousness being borrowed by the mind from the spirit and being able to transfer it to the senses to make them able to perceive is all spectacular. A very very good read.

Slightly repetitive, hence the four stars.

This immortal work of Swami Satprakashananda is a must read for anyone who is interested in metaphysical aspect of life. Vedanta in itself is a deep ocean which needs to be practiced while you read it. This book is a great introduction to the Vedanta philosophy.
I saw the book falter only at one place when it talked about genetics with certain assumption but it can be forgiven as when this book was written there was not much advancement in this field.
The book is at its best when it differentiates between physical organs, mind and soul.
The legend of Vivekananda continues...

Great book; Vedantic explanation for the role (or illusion) of mind has been beautifully explained. It could have been helped with some schematics of the different models of mind per Vedanta, Buddhism, modern psychology etc. Since the book is a collection of speeches, the content is very repetitive as well.
