Kitty O’Doole used to have it all. A big house in the suburbs, a sports car, and money in the bank, all provided by a loving husband. It had been a Cinderella story of all times until the FBI came knocking on her door with a warrant for her husband’s arrest. Now, three years later, working at McCurdy’s Bar and Restaurant, and taking night classes toward a degree in Education, her life is heading in a positive direction. The last thing she needs is a gambling, whiskey-drinking, sexy cowboy, but when JW Whiskey sits down and orders a Johnnie Walker, Kitty finds herself falling for the wrong man. Again.
Or is he?
Johnnie Walker Whiskey, better known as JW, is one of the best bull riders in the business. But a recent scandal involving his last girlfriend tainted his career and marred his reputation. Needing a change of scenery, he tosses a dart at a map of the United States and wherever it lands, is where he’ll go for a week to clear his head. Of all places, he ends up in Baltimore. Who goes to Baltimore to lick their wounds? His first night in town, he wanders into McCurdy’s looking for a burger and a drink, not a sassy conversation with the sexiest, and smartest woman, he’s ever met.
Only he can’t stay away from the bar…or Kitty.
Over the course of the next few days, JW knows he’s falling hard for Kitty and for the first time in the last year, he feels like things might be looking up.
That is until her past and his scandal collide, throwing him into the spotlight…the very thing he’d been running from to begin with.

I loved this fast paced amazing read by Jen Talty about a ranch owner, JW, who goes on a vacation after a stressful year with his ex. He meets Kitty in a bar where she bartends and she has had no luck in the ex department either. Their subtle flirting and a vow to be just friends, lasts only hours & soon he is whisking her away to his ranch for a visit. But her ex likes to cause trouble and his ex still does, who’s side will she be on when his past comes to light... An amazing read with steamy scenes, insta lust/love and two people taking a chance on one another. I loved JW, his easy going flirting self and being so open with Kitty and Kitty, the fiesty red head who can hold her own. Their flirting and easy going nature around each other was perfect and so was their banter. The ending was what I really loved, what she does before she leaves the ranch and where the end up after...loved it ! *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
A fun romance! Kitty was a strong and independent heroine, and I really connected with her. JW is a great match for her, and they have a great dynamic. They have both been through a lot, but they have both become stronger for it. I loved their banter and their chemistry. I really adored JW's family and hope that we get to see more of them!!
This was a pleasantly surprising read. JW and Kitty’s chapter just ooze the sex appeal that made this a great story. I loved their chemistry, their easy going relationship that made for some sexy, steamy loving. I hope the author writes JW’s sibling story, it would be a great addition to this story.
I'd best describe this book as sweet. A cowboy and a city girl finding each other when they're both reeling from really nasty exes and not looking to date again. Best laid plans . . .
The drama comes mostly from outside sources (the exes) and it's big, the kind of antagonists that are really easy and fun to hate. I also really liked JW's family--his brothers and sister were fun and I loved the family dynamic and would have enjoyed more.
For me, the couple didn't have much in the way of chemistry beyond physical attraction. All the real connection seemed to have been done off the page or in summary. And the story, for my taste, was a little bland.
However, for those looking for a sweet, low stress romance, this might be just what you need.
This is the 3rd book I read by Jen Talty. I loved ❤ this book's storyline. I loved ❤ the chemistry in this story. I loved ❤ JW's character. I felt sorry for JW. I loved ❤ Kitty's character. I loved ❤ the ending. Awesome job Ms.Talty.
Kitty O’Doole knew she was making a mistake when she agreed to marry a smooth talking guy with perfect hair and a lot of money. He controlled her life and she would never let any man treat her like that again. Her marriage didn’t last long so she returned to the safety and comfort of her childhood home, where she could help her parents and start saving money for her future. She enjoys her bartending job because it allows her to take college courses part-time and she hopes to graduate soon with a degree in education. Kitty meets all types of people at Pat’s Irish Pub, but she never had a sexy cowboy sit at the bar wearing a cowboy hat. With a twinkle in his eye he asked for a drink and a menu. Oh boy!! Kitty didn’t need this kind of distraction, but this hot cowboy may be too much to ignore.
Johnnie Walker Whiskey, or JW to his friends, is a former bull rider who runs a ranch with his family where he is working on establishing a bull riding school. He was wrongly accused of hitting his girlfriend and he is having a hard time convincing people that he is innocent. He needed to get away from the ranch so he took two weeks off and found himself in Baltimore, in the middle of the summer. He feels out of place in the city wearing jeans, a cowboy hat and cowboy boots. He was in need of a cold beer and some dinner, and when he spotted an Irish Pub down the street, he knew it was his lucky day. JW opened the door and immediately noticed the red headed beauty behind the bar. She wore her hair in a long braid, falling down her back and her skin was dotted with adorable freckles. He watched her chatting with the other customers and when she laughed, her beautiful smile lit up the room Maybe his vacation in hot and steamy Baltimore was the right idea after all.
Will Kitty take a chance on love with JW or will she refuse to open her heart to love again?
Is JW ready for romance with Kitty or will his past somehow tear them apart?
What happens when a fiery redhead meets a sexy cowboy? Sparks fly between Kitty and JW from the moment they meet and their journey to happiness is filled with long walks and hot, hot nights. Kitty knew right away that she could trust JW and he was smitten from his first shot of Johnnie Walker whiskey. I love Jen’s new series and I can’t wait to read the next book, "Deuces Wild."
You gotta love a book when an author creates such down to earth, relatable characters and a storyline that is strong and believable and full of laughs, quick wit and banter and plausible drama. Though this is a quick read, it was great getting to know JW and Kitty and be immersed in their world. I only hope there will be more to come. It would be nice to get to know the other Whiskey siblings as well.
Johnny Walker (JW) Whiskey was looking to decompress. A former bull rider now full-time rancher, he is rebounding from a scandal, with his ex, and just wanting to get away from the drama. The repercussions have left a stain on his career and damaged his reputation and he needs to put some distance between himself and home so he throws a dart at a map, promising himself to go where it lands, and is off to Baltimore, where he stands out like a sore thumb. After settling in at the hotel he ends up at a pub, Pat’s Irish Pub, looking for a good meal and ends up with so much more. He had no clue that walking in to grab a bite to eat would provide complications to his thought out plan or his heart.
Kitty O’Doole is recovering from her own life-changing drama. She used to have everything she thought she wanted, a big house, money and a loving husband by her side. After growing up poor, it was a dream come true. However when trouble, in the form of the FBI, shows up on her doorstep looking for her husband she realizes her fairy tale has come to an end. Three years later she is supporting herself by working at Pat’s Irish Pub and taking night classes towards a teaching degree. She has a well-designed plan and no room for entanglements. However when the sexy cowboy crosses the threshold and strikes up a conversation she is suddenly rethinking her plans. He is a delicious complication that she cannot ignore.
The company and conversations are easy for JW and Kitty and though they both fight it, emotions get involved. But when their pasts collide in an unexpected way, will it shatter the bond forming between them or are they doomed to suffer similar fates as before? *I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.
"Kitty" O'Doole has come full circle. She was born dirt poor and on the wrong side of the tracks then married a wealthy older man. It wasn't long before she found herself in an unenviable position that could lead to felony charges and possibly jail...all due to her husbands actions. She did the only thing she could, grabbed a few things and headed back to Boston where she got a job at The Irish Pub.
Seems Kitty was not the only one who became a victim to another's action. She is about to meet a man who has walked in her shoes and is still experiencing the fallout of someone else's actions. JW has had his share of difficulties in life...the most recent is a cheating ex fiance' who threw him to the wolves to elevate her status and cast doubt and shame on him ... all to avoid the consequences of her bad behavior.
To say life is complicated for both of them is an understatement and it is about to get more so. This is the beginning of Kitty and JW. From the first encounter to the end of this very engaging story the reader will be the captive and the reward is a well written story filled with a variety of characters and a lot of things going on behind the scenes...you won't want to miss anything.
Although this is a stand alone story, my reader copy hints at more to come...perhaps a series with other family members! Yea. I am ready and willing to read more adventures from this group of very independent brothers and sisters.
This is a wonderful read that draws you in and keeps you engaged until the last page It is the story of how fate can often give you what you need even if it isn't what you think you want
This is the story of Johnny Walker (JW) Whiskey and Kitty O’Doole both have just had their lives collapse around them and they are both looking for the next thing in life little did they know it was each other. Kitty grew up poor and her dream was always to have a beautiful home and comfort she thought she had finally found it with her husband that is until the FBI knocked on the door and her dreams shattered around her. Since then she has be trying to make ends meet working at Pat’s Irish Pub in Baltimore. JW has his own problems he is a world renowned rodeo star but an indiscretion with his girlfriend has given him notoriety he doesn't want and tarnished his career So he has decided to get away from his ranch and his past and a dart in a map has led him to Baltimore When he walks into an Irish pub looking for a drink and something to eat he finds maybe the thing he has been looking for While Kitty has a plan and is well on her way to becoming a teacher she knows that this cowboy could derail her plans Will they give into the passion brewing between them or will they still hide behind the walls they have built to protect themselves You will have to read to see
Whiskey Wild is the first book in the Love Whiskey Style Series and connects to Wild Irish Kindle World. Kitty and JW have both been majorly hurt in the past from their exes and have now closed themselves off to anything new. A chance meeting while Kitty is working the bar leads to a passionate affair with no strings attached, but soon both are feeling more than they want to. When their pasts show up in their present, will their walls come crumbling down to find love, or will they walk away feeling scorned again?
This book was so enjoyable to read - I loved Kitty and JW! Kitty had some thick walls that JW needed to work through, but I loved that once she wanted something, she was willing to go after it, or him. JW was sweet, caring, and had the best family to have his back. Their passion was strong and swoon-worthy, but I loved their conversations and their connection they felt was something I could feel through the pages. I already look forward to the next book in the series and love Ms. Talty’s writing! I would highly recommend this book to any romance lover!
J.W. is a gentleman, a smart businessman and the best bull rider in the business. He’s a likable guy and people really look up to him until one day things change...and it is all because of a woman.
Suddenly his world is upside down and the man needs a change of scenery to clear his head. The question is where should he go. He decided to toss a dart at a map, with the intention of going wherever it sticks. Uh-ooooo!
Baltimore is a far cry from Montana and to say the boots, hat, jeans made him stand out from the locals is an understatement. To avoid the stares, he took a right turn into McCurdy’s Bar for a drink and dinner - smart move! That’s when he saw Kitty. And suddenly things started looking a whole lot better. And so the story begins...
I received a copy of the book and am voluntarily submitting an honest review. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and would not hesitate recommending it to other readers. Clearly Jen Talty knows her way around this great, second-chance story. Yep, Mission Accomplished!
WOW! I loved everything about this novella, except it was too short! If this is a lead in to a new series, this is going to be great. Kitty O’Doole not only divorced her wealthy first husband, but she also testified against him in a fraud case. She is now working as a bartender at Pat’s Irish Pub and trying to finish her college education to become a teacher. During her shift, in walks J.W. Whiskey (you’ll have to read the novella to learn his full name – lol). He is visiting Baltimore, from his Idaho ranch, to get over a recent breakup. The dialog and attraction between the two is instant, intense and witty. You will meet Kitty’s brother Keith and J.W.’s brothers and sister. I love the way Ms. Talty writes such genuine characters and unique stories that won’t let you put the book down. I look forward to reading more books about these characters and Whiskey Ranch. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to give an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)
Johnnie Walker Whiskey aka JW, has had a couple of really rough months. Starting with breaking it off with his fiancé after catching her with his best friend Luke. At the insistence of his sister and brothers, he tossed a dart at a map and he's now in Baltimore for a break.
Kitty the bartender is a pleasant surprise, and he finds he wants to get to know her better. Unfortunately her ex-husband keeps pestering her and actually approaches her at the Pub.
Now Kitty doesn't date customers, but there's something about JW that she just can't resist.
This is a fun tale where I'm not sure who has the worst ex. Every interaction is fun for the reader but not so much for the characters.
Lots of Fun, Laughter, Sniffles, a Touch of Drama and Some Sizzle.
I can't wait to read the next book in this series!
COPY RECEIVED FOR HONEST REVIEW this was a short story that covered a lot. The author was able to give a background for each character and allow the reader to know who they were. They both are just getting over toxic relationships and are not looking for love. Kitty is busy with school and work. She has not time for romance. JW has a ranch that is a 6 hr plane ride away and has vowed not to fall in love again. However, fate has another plan. Good story with good characters.
I received an ARC copy of this book from Hidden Gems and I voluntarily chose to review it. I loved this book. It has some surprises that I wasn't expecting but they help make the story interesting. I loved the way Jen Talty named the characters. This is the first book by Jen Talty I have read but it will not be the last. This was a quick easy read for me. It's a light fun story. I encourage everyone to get this book, I feel you will enjoy it.
A cute and very entertaining romance. Two people meet and neither is looking for any type of relationship. She is divorced and working to put herself through school. He has gone through a bad breakup and legal issues that resulted. They were immediately attracted to each other; but still denying any romantic connection. There are some hilarious scenarios as they go through the introduction and learning period.
I mean, how can you resist a story about a man named Johnny Walker Whiskey? If you’re me, you just can’t, and you’d be foolish to try because this is a story with strong characters, an interesting (and slightly different) storyline, some suspense, lots of betrayal, and some truly hot interactions. JW and Kitty are a formidable team as she faces her past and he looks to the future, and there is promise of great things from the other Whiskeys in future too. I can’t wait!
They both have sworn off relationships. JW promised his family he would take a vacation after the debabical with his ex. Kitty is divorced and struggling to finish school and nothing will stop her. JW meets Kitty when he goes to the restaurant she works at. They decide to hang out. She goes home with him for a couple of days. Their exes can't stay out of their business. Will she decide Idaho is the place for her?
Loved Kitty and Johnny's story. Kitty in her twenties had it all with her ex husband until he showed his true colors then divorced him. Johnny Walker famous bull rider, in his 40's and a fiance, he thought he had it all, until she betrayed him in the worst way. So when he's accused of something he didn't do but cleared, he took a vacation and ended up in Baltimore where Kitty is. This was a great story, from start to finish.
JW won the title for Bill riding and has decided he doesn't want the big wedding Bella has planned. He finds her screwing around his friend Luke and gets angry. She accused him of hurting her and gets arrested. Now after everything is cleared up he takes a vacation his suggested and ends up in Baltimore. Kitty was finally getting her degree after her divorce, and is working at the local pub. That's were she meets JW.
This story makes the reader laugh, cry, and try to guess what is going to happen next. Johnny and Kitty have given up on relationships, and they still have problems with their exes. However, Johnny and Kitty are flirty and have great chemistry. The story flows along. I enjoy the play on the whiskey names. I received a copy and I am voluntarily giving my review.
I liked it! Both of the main characters were great. With ex's like Bella and Preston, you really do not need many enemies, but with family and friends like they had....life is good. These two were not looking for love but found it anyway and that made it sweeter. The banter between them demonstrated their chemistry and heartfelt desires.
Johnnie Walker: WOW! Fantastic story! I loved all the characters names. It had amazing dialog. It had lots of suspense and surprises and lots of emotions but really enjoyed. Fantastic writing!
Oh my God I loved this book. It was filling and emotional to the point I thought I was going to bust. I cried with this book because you have good man done so wrong by a scornful father and daughter. He found his happiness.
Even though I would have preferred a little more spice in this story, it is well written, cleanly edited, awesome character development, and a fast moving plot. It's hard to find a better romance than this.
I love this series. I did not read them in order and since each book stands alone, it didn't matter. They are all good! Jen Talty has done a magnificent job relating the stories of the Whiskey family.
Your gonna love this book. I am already downloading the next one in this series and I'm looking forward to some of her other series too. Try just one of her books and you will be hooked. Blessings
Kitty and Johnnie 's story had several back stories. Kitty was divorced because of abuse and her ex embezzlement case. Johnnie had ended an engagement because of infidelity and lies of abuse. Great HEA!
JW and Kitty met at the pub where she was working. They hit off right away and spent the rest of the week exploring Baltimore. JW was making progress but her ex Preston, was giving both of them fits trying to break them up.
