After a night's sleep, Nate wakes up in a world unknown to human beings, dominated by a breed of hideous creatures that force him to adopt a new way of life. But the darkness and irrationality of this world are not the only qualities that define it. Nate soon realizes what the place means for him and what exactly it craves from him.
The main character is relatable and three dimensional. It's very intriguing when we get into his head, especially his description about his relationship with his mother. The character is made human and the pace of the story is just right. Gives you enough time to get stuck in the book and slaps you with that WOWZA ending. Absolutely love it!
The book has a very interesting premise and it kept me hooked from the beginning. The main character is very real and made me think what I would do if I were in his situation. The deep undertones in the story make it even more chilling. The plot twists lead to the most interesting ending.
