Return to Red River--a beautiful mountain town in the southern Rockies, where the nights are cool and the romance is hot--one last time in this wonderful holiday romance that has as much heart as it does heat.
Maybe some wishes aren’t meant to come true.
Christmas is a hot button for Kimberly Perez, and not in a good way. Having grown up in the foster system, she's as frugal as she is smart and can't abide the materialism of the holidays. In an effort to use precious funds to help children in need instead of wasting money on meaningless commercialism, she pitches a new city ordinance to Red River's town council that would cut all holiday decorations and festivities from the budget.
Ross Armstrong is determined to honor his late sister’s memory by continuing her love of all things Christmas in Red River. But to do so, he's got to block the passing of a silly new law—and the person behind it—which would essentially ban Christmas altogether.
When their disagreement pits them against each other at a public town council meeting and splits Red River in half, the council chairperson forces them to work together on a new Red River holiday tradition—the Wishing Tree. Can they work together in the true spirit of the holidays, not only to reunite the town they love but to also cultivate the burgeoning feelings they have for each other. Or will their differences turn them into enemies and divide Red River forever?

4 - Always celebrate Christmas to the fullest… Stars!
The seventh and final book in Shelly Alexander’s Red River Valley series gives us Ross Armstrong and Kimberley Perez’s story. Christmas lover versus Christmas loather if you will.
"Sometimes being a Grinch comes in handy…"
Although I would add that Kimberley doesn’t really hate it, she just see’s past the commercialism of it due to her upbringing, and would rather put the money all the frivolities cost to better use. Ross is the opposite, and holds Christmas really close to his heart and celebrates it to its fullest, in memory of those that are no longer around. Put them together to organise the town’s decorations and wishing tree and you get some great chemistry, and an enjoyable story line to go with it.
"I’m not like most guys…"
Nothing massively new or unusual with the story being told here, both are commitment shy, but for different reasons, Ross opens his heart more initially but when Kimberley gets there too that’s when the inevitable conflict ensues. I read this one pretty much in one sitting, enjoyable enough and it was great to catch up with many of the characters from previous books. I am sad to say goodbye to the series, but look forward to what Shelly has in store for readers in the future.
"I’m here.. I’m not going anywhere."

I loved this book. It was a great story and it is sad that it is the last book in the Red River Valley Series. This book as well as the others can be read as a standalone. Ross and Kimberly were such a great couple. They were so good together. The chemistry between them was so good. This was just a great ending to just a great series.

A celebration of what was, becomes a jumping off point for what could be. Alexander grabs your heart at the start and refuses to let go. It's in His Christmas Wish, pits a modern day Scrooge against a yummy adversary. Kimberly and Ross hold the fate of their small town in their hands. Can they stop fighting long enough to let the magic of the season heal their broken hearts? Heartache and humor are the backdrop for hope. The perfect goodbye to an unforgettable series. Long live, Red River Valley!
Kimberly Perez moved to Red River to team up with her best friend in a law firm. Kimberly, worked mostly Pro Bono and has made it her goal to help others. She had a tough childhood that has left scars, but also; a need to help children and abused women. Kimberly is at the town council meeting hoping to convince the council members that funds would be put to better use rather than on Christmas decor.
Ross Armstrong hears through the grapevine that someone is trying to steal Christmas, and no way is he going to let that happen! He is going to honor this holiday in memory of his sister. He calls in reinforcements and sides are chosen.
When Chairperson Clydelle decides that Kimberly and Ross are to work together to decorate the town for Christmas. Two opposing sides, what could go wrong?
First on the list is getting a tree, the Wishing Tree, where children will hang their wish for what they want for Christmas. As Kimberly and Ross begin to get close by working together, and the town starts to look more like Christmas, they are summed to the park where a riot has broken out between opposing sides of those who wanted a traditional Christmas as a religious holiday, and those who preferred to add in Santa and elves. When the townspeople are properly shamed, and with some coercion, they might still be able to get the town ready for Christmas.
When a surprise isn't received as hoped, and trust is crushed as a result, it might be the final straw!
I laughed out loud about the dog, Comet, wearing Christmas antlers, and how two elderly women could wield a gavel, cane, or mega purse got people to do their bidding out of fear of having one of the said items used on them. One child's wish brought tears to my eyes, not only was the wish healing for others, but it was the perfect ending!

It’s in His Christmas Wish is the seventh and final book in the Red River Valley series. It can be read as standalone as well as the previous books. I started the series with book three. I will get to the first two one day. The synopsis explains it perfectly so I will make this fast.
Kimberly wants to give children their Christmas wishes with the help of the town which would cut the decoration budget. It’s not that Ross doesn’t want children to have a present to unwrap but he wants them to have the experience of Christmas lights. At the same time he would fulfill his sister’s wish before she passed. To keep Christmas alive.
Ross and Kimberly have been friends for years. A few months ago it got to be too much for Kimberly. He felt too close. She hasn’t told anyone about her childhood except her best friend and lawyer partner. Ross hasn’t talked about his sister since his parents were still grieving. Now, these two have to work together to make this Christmas everything the town wants and needs. And to do that, they need to open up to each other in ways they didn’t think possible.
I thought this was a cute, flirty, fun, and sassy story. There is also added heat. It’s kind of a friends to lovers romance with a twist of enemies to lovers in there. It was a great way to end this awesome series of small town couples.
Quotes:
“Kimberly, why are you doing this. I’ll go to war with every person in this town to protect Christmas.”
“You’re one of those holiday freaks who lives for Christmas all year long, aren’t you?”
“Can you wear a red cape with a hood for me one night?” She cocked her head to one side. “Ah, so the truth comes out about Red River’s most famous mechanic, who seems perfect and above reproach in public. In private, you have a Little Red Riding Hood fantasy.”

3.5 stars
"It's In His Christmas Wish" is a nice introduction to the christmas season and at the same time a last reunion with well-known characters. We meet all my favorites - Angelina, Francine and Clydelle - while we get to know Kimberly better.
She's Angelinas best friend since law school and known for her shrill clothes and extroverted style. But under this façade hides a little girl who has been abandoned by her parents and then grown up in foster families. Christmas always makes her painfully aware of all the things she didn't have - a family, security, a home. As a pro bono lawyer she does everything she can to help other kids. That's why she doesn't want to decorate the city of Red River this christmas, but rather use the money for charity. But she did not expect the residents to resist.
First of all Ross. The sexy mechanican, who got too close to her protective walls. He has his very own reasons to celebrate Christmas from the bottom of his heart. Now, under the watchful eyes of Clydelle and Francine, the two must work together to achieve their own christmas wishes...
As already expected and hoped for, this story is well written and enjoyable. I understand both Kimberly and Ross arguments and I'm all the more happy about how the story ends for them. Nice ending for a wonderful series.
So, the story of the citizens of Red River is finished - on the one hand I'm sad because some of the books in the series are my all time favorites, on the other hand I'm looking forward to new books by Shelly Alexander. ♥

I loved this book, although it was a bit confusing. I’ve read books by Ms Alexander before and I always loved it, but this time I noticed a reference to a film I didn’t know - How the Grinch stole Christmas. I didn’t get the playful hints about green man, because I haven’t seen the film. Other than that, I thought it was a fantastic book, I love the small town romance, loved the intention of both Kimberly and Ross and I enjoyed to read about their love-story.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it. This is the last book in the Red River series and I am very sad to see it end but also can’t wait for the next series by this author. I don’t know how she does it but she can create very unique situations for the characters. This book focuses on Kimberly and Ross. Ross is a long time resident of Red River that owns the automotive shop and a small lodge. Kimberly recently moved to Red River to become a partner in Angelique Barbetta’s law firm.
Kimberly sets off on a mission to get the Red River community to help give a Christmas to foster children instead of decorating the town. Ross has been delegated to stop this Grinch in her tracks. This plot gets thrown for a loop when Ross and Kimberly are forced to work together to decorate the town and get gifts for the children with little to no budget.
Of course, we have to throw in a ton of sexual tension that Kimberly has been running from. Ross is committed to celebrating Christmas to the fullest due to an unfortunate family tragedy that ripped his family apart. Kimberly is the product of foster care and wants to make sure the foster children in the area can get the Christmas they deserve.
This is a heart-warming story that will make readers fall in love with Red River all over again. If you have read previous books in the series, you will get a few updates on some of the beloved characters that you have gotten to know.
I am reading this series from the beginning and have not been disappointed.
Kimberly Perez grew up in the foster system and has some insecurities to get close to people only to be abandoned later because of that, and now that she has the ways to help other children who are like she was she goes to great efforts to use precious funds to help them. She pitches a new city ordinance to Red River's town council that would cut all holiday decorations and festivities from the budget, she thinks they are a waste of money on meaningless commercialism. Ross Armstrong doesn't agree that celebrating the festivities are meaningless, most so because for him it is a way to honor his late sister’s memory. When their disagreement at a town council makes people take sides, the council chairperson forces them to work on a new Christmas tradition, the Wishing Tree. As they work together, the feelings they had for each other prior to this event reignite in full force, and they have to make an agreement on the holiday situation and make a choice regarding if they will follow their hearts or let their differences turn them apart. Their story was so sweet to read, i loved the tender moments between them and the closeness and caring the people in the town had for each other. Red River Perfectly Imperfect couple! OMG – I love Red River stories. If you have not read any of the Red River books, you must start with the first one, It’s In His Heart, which is about Ella and Cooper, once you have read this you will want to continue with the others. Although they are standalone books, it brings them all together one way or another in each book. There are some sad portions to each story, but there is plenty of laughter. This story of Ross and Kimberly is no exception.
Red River is a small town and like such, everyone knows everything, which creates for much needed drama and love. Sisters Clydelle and Francine are at it again – they are pretty much in every story. The story starts in the Cotton Eyed Joe’s where there is a town meeting to discuss the budget for Christmas decorations for the town and the chairperson is Clydelle. Well new to the town, Kimberly is there to ask if they should just not spend the money on decorations and instead use it to spread holiday cheer to children of need. Well now due to her suggestion, she is now considered the GRINCH and to help matters the one man she is attracted to, Ross, is there to make sure that NO ONE steals the Christmas spirit from Red River. The story takes off when Ms. Clydelle makes a decision of leaving these two responsible for decorating the town and making sure that the Wishing tree is fulfill.

Loved Ross and Kimberly together. Kimberly has a true armor on and Ross wants to dismantle it; however, not if it costs him his devotion and honor to his late sister. Loved this story.
Ross lost his sister and to honor her Ross carries on her love for all things Christmas, after all her name was NOEL. While Ross is headstrong on his mission to love Christmas, his parents on the other hand turn their back on Christmas as a too painful reminder of their little girl. This strengthens Ross's mission and desire to celebrate Noel and Christmas.
Kimberly grew up in the foster system and knows firsthand the how materialistic the holidays are. She sees money spent on decorations for the town as wasteful and could be best used for children in need. While she feels this way, Kimberly doesn't share WHY she is so passionate about the subject and thus Ross thinks she is a big Scrooge. However, Kimberly isn't aware of the reason why Ross is so passionate about the Christmas season so these two are pitted against one another from the start.
This was a very interesting story and different than most holiday stories I have read. What I liked was the view of both sides and sympathizing for each. What I loved was the chemistry and passion between Ross and Kimberly. This was a great read and the first Noel was a great addition.
I think I have missed the boat on this one as I have just started this series as well as this author at book seven and the final book. But if the other books in this series ware as great as this one, I may just have to go back to meet some of the other couples of the Red River Valley. A funny and sweet Christmas romance that will heat the pages as you have a front-row seat for the argument of the season when Kimberly and Ross go head to head over the towns Christmas decorations.
Ross Armstrong will do almost anything to keep a promise even stand up to the one girl in town that has found a little place in his heart. So when he learns that someone in town is trying to steal Christmas, he makes sure he is the one to stag the fight for the whole town.
Kimberly Perez has one passion to help the children of the foster system or any child in need to have a happy life. All children deserve a Christmas gift at this time of year, and to see this town spend so much money on new decorations to make the town pretty as got her all fired up.
I love all the characters in this book and the valued lessons told along the way. If you can not get that warm and fuzzy Christmas spirit why reading this book you never will. The chemistry between Ross and Kimberly was hot, sweet, kind, funny but most of all understanding.
The final book in the It’s in His... series, I’m relatively new to this author, so while I’ve read a couple of the most recent books, I haven’t had a chance to go back and pick up all the earlier stories yet. I didn’t have any problem reading this as a standalone, though I would probably have had more investment in some of the secondary characters with more exposure to the series.
I have to admit, I was more team Kimberly here, though I certainly understood what was motivating Ross as well. I enjoyed the small town setting and sometimes tongue in cheek humor in this Christmas story that was not without a little heat as well. I did think the conflict here was a little forced; not communicating is a bit of peeve of mine, and if they just had just sat down and actually *gasp* talked to each other and *second gasp* listened to what the other person was saying, a lot of pain could have been avoided. That said, this is a quick and easy read, and if you’re willing to suspend a little disbelief and just enjoy this for the sweet, quick, Christmas story it is, I think you’ll find it entertaining.
A little humor, a little heat and a whole lot of sweet combines to make an entertaining Christmas treat. 4 stars
It's In His Christmas Wish not only wraps the Red River Valley series up with a big read Christmas bow, but also helped this Grinch love me some Christmas magic. It's the story of Kimberly Perez, who moved to the area to unite with her best friend in a law firm. Her childhood wasn't great, and her sole focus is to help other kids who grew up like her and/or worse. She's doesn't hate Christmas per se, just isn't down with all the commercialism, believing that the money which would be spent on over the top decorations, could be used to help kids instead. However, the town is in an uproar about her not wanting to go all out, and now, she's going to go head to head with the super sexy, super irritating Ross Armstrong, who isn't about to let anyone steal Christmas. He is tasked with Kimberly to work together to decorate, but obviously, they're on opposing sides, so the interactions are completely entertaining, not to mention shooting sparks everywhere. So, can Ross get Kimberly to open her mind to a magical Christmas?! And can he convince her to give them a chance on top of that?! Just hit the one click button to find out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
This is the last book in the Red River Valley series and it centers around Lawyer Kimberly Perez and Ross Armstrong. Kimberly had a rough childhood and was bounced around the foster care system and now works as a lawyer doing mostly pro bono work for children. When she hears that the town is going to spend money on new Christmas decorations, she asks the town counsel to use the money to buy presents for needy children instead. Ross lost is sister Noelle when she was 12 and he was 16. Her dying wish was that his family celebrate Christmas in her memory. Since his parents are too caught up in their own grief, it has been up to Ross to fulfill her dying wish. Of course, the meddling matchmakers heading the town council have Ross and Kimberly work together to bring Christmas to the community and the children. While the premise of the book is a bit contrived, it is an enjoyable read. If you like the Hallmark Channel Christmas movies, you will enjoy this book.

Book Review: It's In His Christmas Wish (Red River Valley #5) Author: Shelly Alexander My Rating: 5 Stars Reviewed by: Tammy Payne- Book Nook Nuts
REVIEW I have enjoyed all the books in this series... So sad this is the final one. Kimberly may be a lawyer, but she never set out to make tons of money. Her sole focus is on helping women and children in need. Ross the hunky town mechanic also holds a secret in his heart of loss and a Christmas promise.
A town council meeting has Kimberly named grinch and Ross wanting to spit nails but also wrap her in his arms and protect her. Can these two broken-hearted people find a whole heart together? Well with the help of the town's two gossiping matchmakers they just might have a chance. Beautifully written, loveable characters...
**I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book**
When Kimberly Perez and Ross Armstrong have the towns people of Red River fighting among each other during a meeting the council chairperson forces them to work together to meet both of their proposal's. Kimberly's proposal's of a Christmas Wishing Tree that would grant the Christmas wish list of needy children and Ross's proposal of Christmas decorations for the whole town to carry on his sister's wish. It took them both a little bit to realize that there was meaning behind why each wanted their proposal's and once they started working together they could accomplish anything. They are both great people with wonderful hearts.
Now, comes the fun part of working together to accomplish both of these and along the way get the townspeople involved. Not only does the town heal but it allows these two the chance to get to know each other on a deeper level.
This story can be read as a stand-alone. For even more enjoyment I suggest the whole series. This was the perfect ending to the series. I enjoyed reading about two characters who have wildly different views about the same thing come together. It is so timely that in our society today people one consider their own viewpoint. This story showed to very different but valid opinions of how to solve the issue of township spending for the holidays. The main characters not only fall in love but grow to have a deeper understanding of the other’s viewpoint. Compassion at its finest.
Everyone has different experiences that view their own beliefs but one should always be open to different perspectives
Fitting Conclusion. In this swan song for the Red River Valley series, there are no swans. But there is a little girl named Noelle who has a Christmas wish, and our final couple in town gets thrown together to try to grant it... Along the way, we get the same elements this series has come to be known for - zany antics from old busybodies, solid small town atmosphere, a hot sex scene or two, and solid, heartwarming romance. This *can* be an entry point into the series - if you don't mind minor spoilers about previous books, any book in this series is fine for that - but go all the way back to Book 1 and start from there. A truly excellent book, and I can't wait to see where Alexander takes us next. Very much recommended.
Oooh! I love a good Christmas time read and Shelly completely captured my attention with Kimberly and Ross! Kimberly and Ross find the town at odds when they can't agree what should be done in a town meeting. The council pushes them to have to work together. Which should have been fine, except Kimberly has been avoiding Ross. I liked the fact that these two are friends and have found themselves getting friendlier lately. But Kimberly's past reared its ugly head and she put a stop to things. However, Ross is pretty persistent and he likes spending time with her. I enjoyed the heat and the chemistry between them. I liked how Ross genuinely cared for Kimberly and didn't let her push him away. Shelly gave me ALL THE FEELS and put me in the holiday mood! This was such a fun read.
The Red River Valley series wraps up with a Christmas romance. This one is a friends to lovers romance for Ross and Kimberly. Well, kind of. These two are a bit at odds over how to spend the town's Christmas budget. At the same time, Ross is firmly in the friendzone and really wants to find a way out. Of course, it wouldn't be a small town romance without some meddling townsfolk, and this time, it's the town council. It's in his Christmas Wish encompasses everything the Red River Valley series is and brings the series to a close with a heartwarming holiday romance with all the feels. It's sweet, it's emotional, and if this book doesn't have you ready to decorate the Christmas tree and string the lights, nothing will.
This was a great Christmas story. Both Kimberly and Ross want to spread good cheer for the holidays. They each have their reasons for why it is important but the way they go about it has the whole town up in arms. Ross has had feelings for Kimberly for quite awhile but so far hasn't been able to act on it. Kimberly also has eyes on Ross but feels he deserves someone better. Can they bring the town together and themselves in the process? This is a fun and romantic book and I loved how it ended. I haven't read the others in the series so I'm going to go back and read the ones I've miss. Give yourself a special early Christmas present and get this book.
A wonderful small-town Christmas romance that was witty, charming and sexy The tone was set on page 1 - who knew Christmas decorations could be so funny? Placing two characters dancing around a potential romance on opposite sides of Christmas was a great storyline - each had their own very good reasons for their beliefs and I enjoyed their story as they worked together to make Christmas happen for their small town. I have never read a book about characters with more heart than these two. An excellent read that just made me feel good after I finished it!
Note: I did receive an ARC from the author, but my review is totally voluntary.
It's In His Christmas Wish by Shelly Alexander is book number seven in the Red River Valley series. This is Ross Armstrong and Kimberly Perez's story. This story was so much fun. What a great way to escape from everyday life and get into the holiday spirit. The characters were great! Their interactions and chemistry had me laughing and crying. Kimberly and Ross have experienced hard times in their life and haven't really moved on. Will these two realize what kind of life they can have together? I loved how each character contributed to the story. This story was great fun! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I truly enjoyed reading it! It's a feel-good, funny, sexy & moving Christmas romance. Red River's decoration committee is meeting to plan the town's Christmas decorations. Kimberly, has plans for part of that budget. Ross, also joins the meeting. He was told it was important he attend. Kimberly & Ross, have be attracted to each other since they met, but the meeting will probably put a wrench into any possible future. Kimberly ❤ Ross's story, will pull at your heartstrings. I loved everything about this Must Read Story!!
A funny, romantic story of the last of Red River. You don’t need to have read others- this can be stand alone. There is chemistry and intrigue in the beginning before we get to the issue of how to celebrate Christmas. The pair needs to learn to work together as they both have setbacks and preferences for the holiday. There is comedy, heart-string tugging moments, and a few ups and downs which cover all the bases. I think you will fall in love with Ross, Kimberly, Comet and Red River’s match makers!

This was a quick read with likable characters. There were a few things that I didn't like which is why I'm giving it 3 stars and not more. There were a few word choices that made me cringe and want to tune out. Romance books are supposed to be cliched but overall this was a bit too much for me. I think if the book was longer it could have been better but I'm not sure. Overall a cute holiday read but not one of the first I'd read in this series.

A female who thinks Christmas is too commercialized having grown up in foster care. A guy who loves his dead sister as he honors her love for Christmas by making a big deal out of it collides.
So they have to work together on a new Christmas project as they try to put aside their differences. Will things work out between them as they find a common ground? Sometimes there is a fine line between love and hate.
I really enjoyed this last book in the Red River series. It was sweet, well written, and very steamy in parts. Ms. Clydelle and Ms. Francine are up to their old tricks trying to be matchmakers. After a lot of work planning for upcoming Christmas and organizing gifts for foster children, we do get our HEA.

Another great book by Shelly Alexander. I'm so sorry it is the last book of Red River Valley, I will miss all the characters. This story is a Christmas romance with Kimberly who doesn't believe in Christmas and Ross who is all about Christmas. They are put together to decorate the town and during the book you are going to laugh and cry with them. It's a must read.
