EM’S SECRET is the first book in a 3 part series by Emily Fox
Emily Moore is a successful journalist who is trying to get on with her life after a major break up. She’s not ready to get into another relationship but when she meets lawyer Rick Marshall, she changes her mind. Rick is sexy,charming and very alpha. He has his own reasons for wanting Emily and also carries some heavy baggage. This couple must find a way to not let their past destroy their relationship.
This book kept me reading from start to finish. I felt invested in the characters and I think other readers will too. The love scenes are pretty hot and the overall story is very well done. Highly recommended

Em’s Secret is a great start to this series. Rick has set his sights in Em but she is reluctant to move forward with any type of relationship. They both have their own secrets that they want to leave in the past. Will Rick be able to push past the barrier that’s holding her back? Will this relationship end before it begins?
This book had me in the edge of my seat. So many times I wanted to skip ahead to see what was going to happen. I definitely recommend this book and author.

Em and Rick... these two characters are so very well written!
They come to life and make you want to keep reading till the end.
Luckily this is book 1 in a 3 book series so we get to go further, learn more, unfold their secrets more... everything more!!

⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Beginning 💜 🪻🪻
The beginning of a sweet romantic story between our FMC Emily and MMC Rick.
After their first encounter meeting in a cafe, Rick continues to pursue Emily. Wanting to get to know her more personally with offers of gifts, dinners, beautiful words, romantic gestures but more importantly, to protect her.
What Emily doesn't know is that Rick already does know about her and her past. A past that has effected Emily significantly in her life. An abusive relationship with her ex who is now getting parole from prison.
As Emily is trying to get to know Rick, she soon realizes he is very guarded, he's hot & cold behavior which confuses her on many occasions. They both seem to have past traumas and unfinished healing.

I struggled reading this book. It’s a great premise but I couldn’t connect with the characters. I didn’t really like Rick and I found him to be very pushy and, whilst he said he was trying to protect her and cares for her, the way he spoke to her and treated her said something different. He expected Emily to open up to him and tell him all about her life and past but refused to do the same and expected her to accept that without question. He expected her to do whatever he wanted her to do and didn’t like it when she stood up for herself and refused.
I found the writing to be overly descriptive and a little repetitive in some places. I also felt the revelation that Scott was Pamela’s brother a little confusing given that the reader doesn’t even know what happened to Pamela and therefore the significance of that is unknown at this point which is frustrating.

Emily has been living with a high level of anxiety and a secret that she has held for seven years which surrounds the death of her friend Pamela. Emily is also healing from the hands of Scott who used their relationship to get information out of her about Pamela. Rick is a lawyer with his own eternal weight that he carries around because of losing two people dear to him. When Rick is tasked with helping Scott find out what happened to Pamela, he quickly realizes that Scott has withheld what he did to Emily. I felt for Emily in her healing of mind, body, and spirit in being able to not be used by another man. She wants to trust Rick but she is unable to because he can't open up and lean on Emily to heal from his past. A crack develops in their relationship when Rick moves to New York for his career and is unable to say the three words Emily is longing to hear. This is book #1 of "Em's Secret" series and is off to a great start. This book has romance, suspense, and hot scenes that will scorch your eyes. I can feel that book #2 will be another roller coaster ride of emotion which I am ready for. Bring it on!

Emily and Rick have lots of things in common, but they can't and won't talk about them. Scars from their past they want to keep buried. Issues that keep popping up because neither of them will seek counseling. In this first book, their characters have been well developed and we are starting to understand each of their reasons. Looking forward to book 2.

Intriguing characters - Emily and Rick.
They share a bad past - different, but as it seems a loss of loved once.
Both are stubborn and deflects when questions are sensitive.
It’s a good pace in the story, except a part in the middle that was a little to long and slow. But it was worth reading it to come to the end-part.

This was a fantastic beginning for this three book series.
Emily has closed herself off due to a horrible past relationship.
Rick has vowed to protect her and keep her safe from her past.
The only problem is that he hasn't been quite honest with Emily.

It is a really good book and It is really interesting.
