The battle is over.

My fathers are insistent that we keep fighting and end the pillars’ evil reign. As far as I’m concerned, the battle was lost when hell burst open and someone I loved died.

The plot took a back seat again for me in this book - in fact, I thought it had the most confusing plot out of all the instalments in the series. That's why I knocked a star off. But the romance front? Solid. I only wish that the epilogue had been longer, and that we'd have gotten a sex scene, even a fade-to-black YA one.

I'm NOT crying. YOU are crying.
What a beautiful end to a beautifully written series.
I may have internally fan-girl screeched when a certain kiss scene happened. It was even better than I could've ever imagined. It was EVERYTHING I needed, wanted, and required.
Thank you Kelly for writing this epic pirate series and sharing it with us ❤️ It's going to be weird reading whatever new series you come out with next and there ain't any pirate speak to be found 🤣

I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.

Since book 1 this series has been a lot of fun to read and I was both excited and sad to see it come to and end. But what a great ending it was. Mortal Trinity is all I wish for in a series ender. Plenty of action, all the big plot lines resolved, a few more hurdles for the characters to overcome, emotional impact and a satisfying epilogue.

Mortal Trinity starts off on a sad note, with Ebba-Viva struggling to go on after what happened at the end of the last book. While it was hard to see Ebba-Viva so down, it did make sense and the book continues onward showing how she deals and gets up to save Jagger. This book felt a lot more emotional than previous books and I think that's partly due to this being the last book in the series and partly due to the events that are happening. There are sad events and difficult scenes, but also some very touching and uplifting ones. It's a good mix.

Mortal Trinity has plenty of action, with them having to fight some big battles in this book to save the realm. There are plenty more reveals in this book . There are so many things that only get explained in this book, it was great to have all those gaps in the characters knowledge about the pillars and the root of magic get filled in. Although I would've liked some more information early on, I also think that there are a lot more hints and clues in earlier books than I've noticed. This is one of those series I would love to re-read one day to spot all the clues and build-ups for later on as there are so many things that make sense now looking back and I know I didn't spot all the clues.

There is a big battle at the end and I liked how it all played out. It was well written and paced, but also didn't get dragged out too long. I also like that there are some things they only realize then and how they have to adjust their plans. The epilogue was perfect too. I like to see how all the characters end up and almost wish we could sail along for a few more of their adventures.

One of my favorite parts of this series is the main character Ebba-Viva. I probably say this in almost every review for this series, but the character development in her character is amazing. And at the same time she still stays true to herself and is still so Ebba-Viva. Even at the end that core of who she is is still there. She goes through some big changes, but also stays true to herself and I love that. I also liked the author's note at the end about the character. There are some things about Ebba-Viva that only make sense in this book. And she really shows the full colors of her personality here. It was great to see how she handles everything in this book.

As for the romance, while I was on the team for the other guy of most of the series this book proves the one she picks if perfect for her. Their chemistry and love is palpable and while I still like the other guy, I think this one's the better fit for her. I like how things end up for the other guy and how he finds peace with her decision. It's perfect and I liked how while it's difficult for him, they find a way to deal with it. It was very mature and realistic and they made for great friends despite what happened.

The title for this book is so fitting too as this book really focuses on the mortal trinity or the watchers and their role in all this. I like how we see a lot more of Ebba-Viva and Caspian their roles in this book. The background of the mortal trinity and some aspects we didn't know before. And there's more we learn more about the root of magic too. It all makes sense and falls on it's place perfectly.

This series has a big cast of awesome characters and the author does an awesome job giving them all their own personality. Everyone comes alive and I rarely had trouble remembering who was who. And even in this book there is more we learn and see of most side characters. And many of the side characters play a role in this last book. I love seeing how Caspian grows in his role as king and his role as the bearer in this book. It was awesome to see. And all of Ebba-Viva's fathers and seeing how much they care about her and also how close they've grown to each other. I liked how even in this last book there were moments of downtime and fun where we see the characters relax a bit.

To summarize: Mortal Trinity is an amazing ending to this series. Filled with action, the build up to the big battle, danger, romance, emotions, awesome characters and more. While there are some sad and difficult scenes there are also some fun, happy and touching ones. I like the pace of this book and how the plot of the book moved forward, with in between the battles also moments of pause or preparation. This book still had plenty of reveals and more information we learn. It was great learning more about the trinity and their roles. Seeing Ebba-Viva change, develop and grow into her own is one of the best things about this series. I love seeing how much she changes, but also how true she stays to herself. I also am happy with how the romance got resolved, while I was rooting for the other guy than the one she chooses this book made me realize she picks the right guy as he's the best match for her. And things with the other guy are resolved well too. The side characters in this book are awesome. I liked getting to know all the different characters and they really all come to life and almost all of them play a role in this final book. If you like fantasy series with pirates, magical creatures, a quest to save the world and a great cast of characters you don't want to miss this series. I can't recommend this one enough.

Gahhhh

Man, there is always so many emotions when an amazing series comes to an end. But I have loved this journey with Ebba and the others. It’s been so fraught with danger and evil, but had so many happy and wonderful moments. This book was intense! I expected it would be, but it definitely kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. And honestly, I couldn’t have asked for it to end any better. The ending was perfect! Thanks for taking us for the ride, Kelly! It’s been a blast! Can’t wait to see what adventure you cook up next!

Why do things have to end?

I hate when things go on forever and the writer can’t seem to let go- Greys Anatomy for instance- but then I also hate the day when my favorite things end: Friday Night Lights, Harry Potter, The Life After series, and the world of Eba Viva Fairisles and her fellow Pirates of Felicity. This has been a really special series that has made me laugh and cry and speak pirate in my head for days! Kelly St Claire is a master at creating characters and stories that I can relate to and see myself in. I feel like I’ve read a self improvement book when I’m done with her stories because I definitely walk away a better person.
Ok I’ll quit going on and on about my obsession with her books (because at this point I’ve read every single one) and review this actual book.
It was a nail biter from the beginning! I had to go back and read the last chapter of book 6 to remember what was going on and it starts off in a pretty gut wrenching place. I won’t lie, I nearly cried a few times. There was a ton of action and I loved when the characters learned to embrace their true selves and the wisdom they already had and stop leaning on everyone else (hmmm maybe I should be listening here). I didn’t absolutely love the ending, but I think it’s because I have a preference for a little more heartbreak. It feels nice to have everything wrapped up with a bow, but not always as authentic and relatable.
If you’ve read this far in the series you’ll definitely read this book so I’m not sure why you’re even reading reviews. If you’re reviewing the last book to see if the series is worth reading, it’s a resounding YES! In fact, I’ve loved it enough that I need some Eba swag in my life

The final book in the Pirates of Felicity series *sob* and it was amazing! When I first started out with this series I struggled with Viva as at the beginning of the very first book she felt a bit selfish and immature. However, one of my favourite things about this series is how we've seen her grow and develop over each book from that girl to the woman she is in this last book. Viva is one of my favourite all time characters with her growth arc and I really feel like I've been right there alongside her with each challenge she has had to go through.
It's not just Viva that has grown and changed throughout the series but also Jagger, Caspian and her fathers. The world building in this series has also been great and in each book we've experienced somewhere new.
Mortal Trinity starts off on a somewhat forlorn note (I won't spoil anything though so don't worry) and in this last book I cried several times, not just with sadness but sometimes joy too. Mortal Trinity gave me everything I wanted from the end of the series. All the loose ends were neatly tied up and the ending left me content. I've really enjoyed this whole series and it is one I'll be reading again and again throughout the years. I will miss Viva and her crew but I know that they are happy to sail the seas of Exosia and I can just pick up these books to join them on their journeys. Five stars for this final swashbuckling adventure.

This was a great conclusion, albeit a bit messy and complicated. There were a lot of things happening at once but I think that's to be expected from six books worth of loose ends needing to be tied up. I was really in my feels by the epilogue that was a perfect ending. I'll miss Ebba-Viva, along with her crew and Sally. And her and Jagger are def going down in my fav couples of all time. Their devotion was so palpable and I felt like they didn't just stumble upon their love, they tested it and each other over and over, circling as enemies, then allies, then friends, and finally lovers until they had an unshakable bond built on life-or-death trust and mutual respect. They both have such strong personalities and the chemistry had been off the charts since book 1, I loved how they loved each other before they'd even admit to themselves that they liked each other.

"I thought you were handsome when I first met you, did you know? I was ignoring such things at the time, but I thought you were made up pretty well as far as men go. In another time, and as another person, I might've not tried to kill you twice before I admitted it."

💛💛💛 This series at it's core was fun and had tons of heart and laughs. Ebba-Viva was one of the most unique heroines I've ever read and I'll miss seeing the seas from her point of view.

Viva Forever 🏴‍☠️🖤👩🏾‍🦱

Mortal Trinity is the final instalment in this incredible series and it’s an epic conclusion that readers will be thrilled with. Ebba-Viva has grown so much through her adventures since she overhead a secret about treasure in book one. She’s become one of my all time favourite heroines; her humour, bravery, charismatic personality, her fashion sense, the relationship with her fathers and her inner dialogue make her a firm friend of mine.
This final book had me laughing and crying, mostly crying through the first few chapters!! Ebba-Viva goes through a lot as she teams with her crew to battle The Pillars and I could not put my kindle down.
The world building for this series is incredible, through this entire adventure I have felt pulled into the story, one of the crew; with them through all the twists and heart stopping moments and I’ve enjoyed every single moment!!
I’m sad that their adventures have ended but I know I’ll enjoy re reading this series and I cannot wait to read these books with my daughter when she’s older!!!! 5 stars 🖤👩🏾‍🦱🏴‍☠️

A good conclusion

I love a book or series that ends with closure. After you’ve finished reading it, you don’t wonder how the characters life went on from there. It just makes you satisfied. This is one of the reasons I love this author’s books. Ebbs Viva did not disappoint. I really loved her and the other characters.

A great series

A lot of tears with this last book. Loved how Caspian took his place at last, how the Trinity took charge of the battles and found a way to heal the taint and how Ebba, Jagger and the remaining fathers are making things work. At least, Caspian gave us something about his love life in the future...

Perfect final book

I was captivated from the first page. I binge read the whole series and none disappointed. In this book I particularly liked how time was taken at the end to tie up loose ends and give glimpses into the future. Highly recommend.

Loved this series so much.

I can't tell you how good this series is. It is a rare day that I read a series and want to start back over at book one as soon as I finished seven. Major props to Kelly St. Clare, although I haven't found a book yet that I don't be likin'. 😁

This is the last of the books in the tale of the Felicity's crew, and it is a fitting ending to the series. Ebba-Viva has experienced a devastating loss, one she never thought would come and isn't sure she will survive. But in her sorrow and darkness, one light shines through, and that is Jagger. But he's in the hands of Mutinous Cannon, and she won't let him perish there. She knows the horrors a life in his clutches can mean, and she knows what will happen if they don't rescue him and regain the root of magic. So, even as she faces the demons of her past and the heartache of her present, she and her crew boldly charge in to save Jagger and hopefully save the world from the pillars' evil.

It's been a long time since a series has held me captive the way this one did, and the characters and storyline kept me enthralled from the first moment until the very last. Each of the characters was necessary and lended to the life and light of the story, and even the secondary characters were fantastic. Ebba-Viva is one of my favorite heroine's of all time, and I'm going to miss her and her crew.

A satisfying conclusion

Ahhh, dont you just love when a series wraps up and all the things that happened throughout that seemed coincidental or minor turn out to be all connected? It's one of my favorite things about Kelly's writing. Always when the series finishes you can look back and see all the set ups you missed. It gives you such a satisfying feeling.

With this final book in Ebba's story our adventure reaches a climax and we finally get the resolution we all have wanted. I loved where all of our rag tag crew has ended up and how they all worked together to get where that is. I will miss Ebba and the crew of Felicity but I loved this story and am happy how it all ended.

The perfect ending to a great pirate adventure story. We got the closure we needed. It’s hard to shake the pirate lingo after reading these books, I find myself muttering “aye”, “ye soddin’ cur” or “ye dolt” sometimes and it makes me chuckle. Ebba’s character growth made the story so much better and I forged a real connection with her character. The pace was perfect and the development of the story was spot on. Kelly is very talented at story telling and the extensive research and thought that has been put into Ebba’s story shows and is brilliant. This was the first series I’ve read by Kelly and it won’t be the last. Let’s not forget the cover art for these books are beautiful. Some of the best book covers I’ve ever seen! I’d definitely recommend this series.

Epic conclusion!!!!!!

I have received an advanced reader copy for an unbiased review.

HOLY MOLY!!!!!!
When you think of a 7 book series, you expect the ending to be all about wrapping up the adventure and a couple of pages of happily ever after.
Kelly has completely blown my mind in how endings of a 7 book series occur. She has not only completed character arcs to satisfaction but also provided a satisfying conclusion to the ending where everything ends the way the readers hope it ends. I cannot believe the epic adventure has finally concluded. I cannot wait to see what Kelly comes up with next!!

A fight for Life!

This last book was filled with vivid depictions of survival amidst darkness, a great battle scene of good vs evil. There were so many puzzles of why the pillars were swiftly gaining in their blight, were explained in this last book. This is another awesome addition, and Kelly St. Clare did a marvelous job on this series. When you can immerse your readers into talking and thinking like a pirate, argh, you've accomplished writing an amazing story! Now, I definitely have to have others read about Ebba's pirate adventures so they can understand my pirate lingo, lol. This is a series everyone must read!!!

Beautiful

An absolutely beautiful ending to this wonderful series that stole my heart from the beginning. I’m a huge fan of Kelly’s work but this particular series just hit me in all the feels every book. I will miss Ebba and the crew “sumthin fierce”! These are characters that will stay with me for always. As an avid reader, I have gone on my fair share of adventures and every once in a while, you stumble across one that speaks to your soul and you know that it’s something extra special. This is one of those times. Hats off to you Kelly!

Cant believe its over!

ABOUT FLIPPIN TIME!!! Let's just say things that I have been wanting to happen for several books now have finally happened! This book was a fitting end to the saga of Ebba Viva Fairisles. I dont feel like there are any loose ends or anything unsatisfying. I also dont feel like it was rushed. It was organic and time to bring it to an end. We got to watch Ebba grow and mature and fall in love at sea, all while remaining true to herself. It's a fantastic series that I'm going to have to read again.

No easy finish

Trying to not give any spoilers here is TOUGH. But - this was a worthy close to a wonderful series. Ebba and crew start this in a very dark place (mentally, physically) and fight, fight, fight (mentally, physically). The creativity, the grit, the heart shown in this close to the series is spot on, and a worthy tribute to the journey they’ve all been through over the course of the series.

Boom goes the dynamite 🧨

This was such a bittersweet read ! The Pirates of Felicity. Series has been such a unique , gut wrenching adventure! I’m going to miss Ebba Viva Fairisles and her lovable crew! This book packed so much excitement in and there was still room for a teeny twist at the end . I’m glad everyone got their happy endings. I love Jagger and Ebba, but I have an even more favorite pair of love birds (wink wink). Thank you for the adventure Kelly!
