Isolation: A New Zealand Historical fiction novel; based on fact
Inspired by a true story, this is a fictional story, based on fact.
ISOLATION tells of newly weds Meghan and James Morley who leave England in 1859 on the ship the Roman Emperor, and travel to New Zealand in search of a new life with the intention of eventually owning their own farm. This story covers the twelve years they lived in New Zealand and tells of the successes, trials and tribulations they experienced during that time.
James is a surveyor by trade and while he struggles with the isolation of high country farming his wife Meg thrives on it. Meg is left alone to run the farm for months at a time, often trapped alone in the valley by winter weather, while her husband goes back to his surveying job to raise more capital for the farm. When he gets caught up in the search for gold, the fortune he finds will change their lives forever.

Since then, I've written eleven books, with another one due out soon. They include novels, short stories, travel stories, novellas and a children's book. Some stories come quickly, while others take years, but all of them are written for the same reason: a love of storytelling.
My life in New Zealand, along with my frequent trips to Australia, has influenced my writing over the years. The New Zealand high country and the Australian Outback are special places that make my heart sing. The stunning beauty of these varied landscapes often finds its way into my work.
When I'm not writing, I'm crafting, reading and getting involved in the community in one way or another.
My most successful novel, Isolation, was inspired by a true story and reflects my own family's connection to the early New Zealand settlers — a project that remains especially close to my heart.
These days, I continue to write, publish and explore new ideas — because stories, like life, are always evolving.
The pages that follow are the stories behind the stories I write. Each one has its own unique tale to tell.

A sweeping epic novel of historical proportions set in colonial New Zealand. Meg and James Morley will captivate your heart as the author describes the sights, sounds, hopes, and dreams that nestle in the landscape. Hardship. Hopes. Dreams. Heartbreak. Joy. All are present in this story. You will love this book.

Greatly enjoyed
Liked learning about New Zealand in those years. A very touching story about a courages girl. A couple editing mistakes but did enjoy reading the book.

Es más interesante que bueno. No dejar de ser una historia entretenida que relata muy bien lo que debió haber sido el final del siglo XIX en Nueva Zelanda.
