My Review
I must confess, I’m not a very organized woman. I have a tendency to attempt organization, only to fall by the wayside in disarray in spite of my best efforts.
Ms Jordan breaks these tools down into 12 steps to make it easier for woman like me. She deals with attitude, our walk with God, and the importance of being healthy and fit.
The message of this book is a womans’ need to be restored before she can be the woman needed in her home. Her focus on the source of our strength – God – is appealing to me as a Christian. I found great encouragement in these pages and I would recommend it to women every where. Give it as a gift to mom, daughter or friend and they will all be blessed by it.
This book is like having your own personal life-coach in your living room. The push to change from the inside out is in the pages of this book. I enjoyed it very much and I am sure you will to. I couldn’t find anything to complain about here.

12 Steps to Becoming a More Organized Woman by Lane P. Jordan ... Where has this book been all my adult, married life!

What a refreshing, positively upbeat, must read! This book has it ALL! I read this cover to cover in one sitting and wanted to jump up and organize.

What you take away from reading this: Prioritize, Prioritize, Priortize!
Find your path in life - delete the activites that don't bring you joy.
Set goals, make lists, reach out those all around you - family, friends, your church - even the world!

The cover states : "It's harder than ever to emulate the Proverbs 31 woman in today's fast paced world. Women are inundated with a variety of roles and responsibilities - from keeping the household running like a well oiled machine to making sure the family relationships thrive.

Lane Jordan provides the perfect blend of nuts and bolts advice and biblical wisdom to help you manage a fast paced life and keep your head! This book is an invaluable resource for every 21st century Christian woman.

Each of the chapters (called 'steps') beautifully lays the foundation for setting up a positive method of organizing each part of your life. From organizing your marriage to a messy room to where God can fulfill your life by organizing your spirituality. These chapters are accompanied by personal reflections, words of wisdom to help you get where you need to be, and a section for personal application.

I recommend having a small journal and your favorite pen to accompany this book - you'll want to take lots of notes! There is also a reflection comments and questions that allow you to take a good look at prioritizing areas in your own life - and after reading this, you just may surprise yourself!

Flawless read!

What can I say about this book? Well, first of, I love that I feel like she and I are sitting down to a cup of coffee/tea with her and she is just chatting with me. I love that she says to put God first, then your husband, then the rest of the your life. In Step 5, she says to schedule a day at home once a week. I agree on how important that is. I mean seriously, we are constantly on the run it seems. Not so much as of late with us only having one vehicle. But, once we have another car, I will be running at least 5 days a week. I will also be going back to work soon, and so that will make a difference. Lane really drives home the need to put God first in each of the 12 steps. She has a call to action, then a practical application. For me, I need it explained to me, in average person terms on how something should be done. Lane does that! In Step 7, Lane says “Don’t let any one thing dominate your life.” In this step, I have a difficult time and will be rereading this again. I want to be healthy and set healthy goals for my children. Lane explains it in such great detail, I think I can incorporate that into my life.
Lane does an excellent job in breaking down each step. It is easy to understand, encompasses God. Lane incorporates computers, the internet, aps on a smartphone, etc for us “modern women”.

I give this book a rating of 5/5 stars.

This book taught me many things. Incorparating christian values into organizational tips was a great unique spins to self help books.

The book focused on Proverbs 31 which was great. After each step you had a chapter to reevaluate.

Overall, it was good and gave me plenty of useful organizational tips that I will start using!

for a woman going into marriage or newly married. Perhaps it would fit someone who may be a little further along (under 7 yrs marriage) and just need some pointers. Does have good info/tips in it and I love how it focuses on people as the main reason for what you are doing.

My Review:

12 Steps To Becoming A More Organized Woman, is a unique type of organizing book. When most books that are written in order to help the average woman become more organized they include ways for you to organize closets and to freeze monthly meals. This book, a revised&updated edition, goes a step further. The author tries to rear us back around to the things that should matter to us more than just a tidy home or perfectly labeled shelving she begins with our hearts and souls. She says that priority number one should be a prayer and devotion life with the Lord.

She then touches on marriage and how its important that we make our marriage the next item on the list that needs attention and focus. And not to leave the single ladies out she has devoted a chapter solely to you. The author has tried to give us the Proverbs 31 woman of today and how she should manage her life and family. I liked her idea of taking our toddlers out to eat occasionally. She said its best to pick off peak hours when the restaurant isn't likely to be crowded. I'll be honest, I cringed when I read that, but I am going to give it a try real soon.

This is the best book I have read in a long time and I absolutely love that it was modeled after Proverbs 31.

I picked this up when I was on my kick of believing I could become a more organized person. I am religious and thought this might be a different approach that might help. Then the title fit with my reading theme for the month (music and dance -- steps are part of dance) so I snagged it off the shelf to read. It has some redeeming features, perhaps more so for someone more into the patriarchal religious viewpoint which celebrates a woman's role as mother above all else. I am not a mother. I am not a wife. I am not a fan of patriarchy. I am a survivor of the 2016 US presidential election cycle. I am just fine with not being organized if following this book is the way to do it.

Well, in spite of being written by a woman who is clearly one of "those Christian women" that I am not a fan of, I actually found a lot of motivation in this book. Although not every idea was practical for me, many of them will be tweak-able, and that is good enough. Lots of inspiration to work on organizing our home and lives better, mostly so that I can better organize my time to focus on the kids (and maybe Josh). Working on finding pockets of time now to get more done and spend more time with them!

For anyone who wants to take control of clutter and successfully manage home and family, this book is a great resource. From finances and parenting to positive attitudes and time management, this 12 Steps book has it all plus encouraging Bible verses. Each of the 12 chapters is short and easy to read, written in Lane's affirming, practical tone. I can see this book as a useful Ladies Bible study book, for Women's Ministries, or a book club discussion.

I have had this book for several years. I pull it out and reread the highlighting. I keep in mind, when reading it, that I am not supermom or superwoman. Many books, including this, can make you feel you have to "do it all" and "be all". Noone is perfect! It does have some practical tips and can be good for discussing in a women's bible study format.

I bought this book for a quarter and it was a quarter well spent! I think this book would be really useful to a frazzled mom who hasn't gotten the hang of organizing her life. I also learned some good tips and it was a good refresher for me. I am a fan of Christian books so I liked that the book was based on my favorite Proverb, Proverbs 31!

This is a nice, practical book probably for the young woman just starting out on her journey. Probably not enough meat for the more "seasoned" woman.
