I've told him a million times his games and words won't deter me. That it means nothing when he questions the way I look at him.
How my face turns crimson not because his searing eyes deadbolt onto mine fused with his sordid words or my space that he always tends to land in.
Colson Hayes is delusional, conceited and he'll see how tired I am of his bullshit when I deliver some things I have up my own sleeve.
But as quickly as it all began, it ended — those eyes change towards me and I lost the thing he hated the most.
We're at a crossroads, while I don't trust him and he won't settle for anything less than his baseball career.
Question is, how far will we jump to find the truth before it’s too late to take back everything we’ve done to each other?

OMG, no!!! I need more!!😭😍💗 It just keeps getting better and better.

Silly ol' me used to think that I had a bad high school experience. Yeah, me and probably the other 94,6%, you will say. But you know what, Sawyer? I think you win that prize. I don't know if you should or would ever want to wear the title proudly but there's no way it'll go unnoticed, that's for sure. Then again - and you can call me crazy on this one - if it came with the (small/huge/non-existent - still pondering, not really) benefit of crossing Colson Hayes path, I'd still go through it all, barefoot.

We're back at Freemont High and I literally feel like I've been walking these halls for forever now; everything feels so familiar. It's like I've been hovering over Sawyer's shoulder this entire time, clutching my books to my chest, waiting for the next hiccup that disturbs the apparent peace; the next shift that changes everything, yet again.

Only now - as Colson would put it - it's Sawyer 2.0 taking the reins; she's fighting back. She's not going down without one.

Colson is being his asshole-y self, as per usual, only this time you might not even mind it all that much. Don't get me wrong: he still gets on your nerves profusely and leaves you dizzy and flustered all at the same time, in this unnerving way. The thing is, you start to see a whole new side of him, and his perspective on things: there's always a deeper meaning behind his sometimes puzzling behavior. He's not a rebel without a cause; the motive exist only a) he isn't aware of it at first, b) later he doesn't want to acknowledge and c) after all is said and done, he just refuses to believe and give in to the fact that said motive still holds that much power and meaning.
Downplaying the obvious won't get you very far, Hayes, I think you're beginning to see that.

It's an endless chase, the eternal cat and mouse game, only thing is they both fear the metaphorical mouse trap that is...
the truth.

They're growing close and the lines are blurring. And that's when things get... interesting... and complicated... and hot.
The chemistry between then can be seen and felt from across the field and through every single page of this book.

We are left with yet so many questions that we need answers to and a cliffhanger that although is completely warranted and not too, too hard on your mind, body, heart and soul, it manages to keep you on the edge of your seat, because you just know that there's no way you're going to miss THAT: what comes next begs to wait just a tinsy, tiny bit and after, all will have been worth it.

I'm in love with Hazel Grace:

• the alternating chapters between the past and the present are just genius and phenomenally well done.
• the plot keeps thickening; how does she even do that?
• these slow, smooth changes: the special brand of slow burn she's currently delivering will quiet possibly be the death of me.
• her beautiful and captivating writing style: her original story ideas, her unique characters and their twisted or questionable morals are everything.
• her men: I know I talked about Wyatt before and Colson is our current topic of conversation, but can we please take a second to talk about Jake? Uhm, yes I'd like some of that. He's warming his way into my heart and I have zero problems with that.

In resume, please do yourself a favor and YES, read Strike and continue this journey with Colson and Sawyer that, if you're anything like me, you won't forget anytime soon.

Colson Hayes, why do I love you so much? Why?? After getting an excellent overview of the characters and baseline plot in Interference, we find Strike picks up right where it left off. The only difference is the growth in character development, a well thought out plot from Hazel and excellent writing.

Colson and Sawyer have a palpable tension, whether it’s love/hate or sexual, that just explodes of the page. Fortunately, or unfortunately, it takes you back right to your high school days. As the reader, you are part of the hallowed halls of Freemont High. It’s so easy to mentally visualize these situations and issues (high school drama) that are brought forth in Strike.

Despite not having the best high school experience, Sawyer is one tough girl. We get to see her evolve into a stronger character and it’s a beauty to see. She is feisty, spunky and won’t take crap from anyone. Sawyer 2.0 is in affect!

Colson, Colson, Colson. He is his usual a-hole self, but the incredible thing is that we are starting to see a different side of him. Just like an onion, his layers are slowly coming off. I will be the first to admit, that Colson is frustrating as all get out! I realize high school is the point where teenagers are starting to spread their wings and figure out who they are as an individual, but seeing Colson going through this had me wearing a neck brace because of his whiplash. (I still love him though).

We are left with another cliffhanger, but it is SO GOOD! With each book, there is a constant churning of intensity and the need for more. I feel restless and on the edge of my seat, just to get some questions answered. Hazel Grace has weaved a very realistic setting and plot, that begs you wanting more, even if you’re not in high school! Colson and Sawyer have my heart! Do yourself a favor and read Interference and Strike to hop on the Colson and Sawyer will they/won’t they train.

Strike is full of drama, comedy and angst.

Sawyer and Colson have quite some baggage between the two of them. While they have this intense chemistry, I think I'm having whiplash with the push and pulling. The book was ok, I can't believe we have to wait for the conclusion again. He is pretty cold, they both are to each other, but he is just sooo angry. We have still yet to find out why he is so angry. I'm hoping to find out everything and hope they get their happily ever after.

Some books make you laugh, some books make you cry, but in all honesty this book gave me the feeling of driving by an accident scene on the highway.....You know tragedy has happened but you cannot look away. From the opening pages to the very last one this book had my emotions all over the place. The love/hate/desire/need between Sawyer and Colson simply leaps off the pages. Back and forth, ups and downs, bitterness, revenge, hope and love are all intertwined. I am left feeling the need to scream as well as the need to have a cigarette paired with a glass of wine. The next book needs to come out ASAP - I cannot wait! Job well done Hazel Grace - job well done.

This is one of the most angst-filled book I've ever read! It's so frustrating and good at the same time. Ugh! That's when you know the writing is good. Colson and Sawyer's story will keep you intrigued and on your toes wondering what will happen next.

I cannot wait for the next book!

After reading Interference by Hazel Grace I was intrigued to see what would happen next in the series because she had managed to have me hooked on the story and I needed more. I was not prepared for this next book though, but it was honestly incredible. You can see in this book that Hazel’s writing has grown a lot and this book seemed to have that WoW/ shocking factor that was missing in the first book, but the story isn’t over yet. Hazel is building up with each book and I’m looking forward to seeing how the finale turns out, I have no idea how many more books she plans to write in this series, but if she can pull off what she did with this book then I have a feeling that she will do extremely well with this series. I loved the turns and twists that she placed in the story, and it had me hanging onto the edge of my seat the entire time. I was literally only meant to be reading a few chapters of this before I headed to get sleep, but I got that swept up into the story that I couldn’t help but read to the end. Hazel is an extremely talented writer and I’m looking forward to seeing what she comes up with for the next book, I’m actually mad at her for the ending though of this book…. I would say more, but honestly it’s best if you find out for yourself.

Colson and Sawyer’s story is far from over, if anything it’s only just began and whilst Sawyer wants nothing more to do with Colson, she can’t help but keep thinking about him. She knows she should stay away, but at the same time she can’t help it even though all she does is give him a hard time whenever they are with each other. Colson on the other hand just wants to get his one night with her, he wants to screw her out of his system and then he should be all good to move on. But the thing is Sawyer isn’t making it easy for him and he’s not exactly making her life easy either. Their story is complicated, there is so much heat and chemistry between them, but whilst that’s the case niehter one of them is willing to lose at the game they are both playing. With memories of the past coming back to haunt them both, they are doing their best to live in the same town without trying to get swept back up into the past, but for some reason that’s not working for either of them. Will they both be able to find some common ground or are things set to get out of control for the both of them?

Grace, so easily captured my heart with Colson and Sawyer in Interference, and left it utterly devastated, until Strike.

The way in which she outlines the second part of Colson and Sawyer is phenomenal. All those nagging questions were answered in the most delicious ways. More questions have come into light, and once again she leaves you with your jaw on the floor begging for more.

I seriously fell even more in love with Colson in Strike. Ever the douchbage, his antics and words are just that frickin amazing. He doesnt care what anybody thinks of him, except Sawyer, and that my friends is why I seriously love, adore, hate and loathe him all at the same time. Grace, made the perfect man with Colson. And Sawyer, oh man, the spunk she spits in Strike is refreshing. Watching her stunning growth throughout this was amazing. Sawyer definitely is my kind of girl; fiesty, sassy, headstrong, stubborn to a fault, and all with no apologies.

Stike, and the Bases series, had loudly and proudly marched it's way onto the top of my favorite list.

Ugh this book... my heart hurts in the best way from this story so far. The first book left me with tons of questions as to what the hell happened to these characters that had caused so much heart ache and pain. Picking up exactly where book one left off we dive back into this explosive relationship. I was so angry at both sawyer and Colson for how they treated each other and how they went about things. But as the story progressed and we learn more about their story and their feelings you can’t help but feel your heart break along with theirs as you read those words on that page. You’re feeling lost and hurt right along with them. Then it just makes sense, you understand their idiotic decisions and you pray like hell they can move past it because they both deserve their happily ever after. I can’t wait to see where this story goes and how we get there.

The first book had me so confused as to where the story was going especially switching in and out of timelines but now that I’ve finished the second I finally have a better understanding of Colson and Sawyer. They have a big story and I like that we get to see more of what happened their senior year. The only thing that bothers me is how this MF isn’t groveling in the current timeline. He should be begging to talk to her like a normal mature adult but I get it. They’re both stubborn and clearly Colson doesn’t get that effing her secretary isn’t gonna push Sawyer to be very forthcoming. Clearly if they talk it out they’re gonna forgive each other but I think the only smart thing Colsons done so far is leave this mysterious Annabelle. Overall I like where the book ended and I think we got the character development that was missing in the first book.

Right off the bat- book two picks up where it left off in book one, which was so refreshing. Not a ton of rehash- or going back to drag the book down. But she adds in little details to help refresh your memory on important things, so you don't feel lost. This book was insanely well written, it flowed effortlessly and the present and past of Sawyer and Colson was the perfect blend of angst. This book had more swoony moments too than the last, which was everything. We also get to see the two of them get even with each other in the present day, which evens the playing field.
I couldn't put this down and found myself reading it every free chance that I had.
I loved getting the chance to see into the past of these two broken people who can only make each other whole.

Get ready! Colson and Sawyer are back with a bang. These two are badder than ever and hell bent on destroying each other. In the second book of the Bases series you get to see the different sides of both Sawyer and Colson. Sawyer becomes a little tougher and Colson shows a kinder side. That still doesn't change how hostile things can get between these two. Sawyer and Colson are like oil and water, but yet they are still being pulled together. I enjoyed Strike just as much or more than Interference. I would absolutely recommend this book. Strike picks up right where the first book left off. And it sucks you right back in to their story. Readers will not be disappointed.

Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, Hazel Grace always leaves me wanting more.

Gah, I just can’t get enough of Colson and Sawyer. He still is the enemy we all love to hate-but with time, the past, the present and future we see glimpses of both characters and how their story comes together.

Like they say “just keep swimming” it’s more “just keep reading” because the angst, emotions, characters and everything else keeps you guessing on what is going to happen next and what we think isn’t always as it seems.

For the life of me I could not put this book down and I’m so excited to read more.

Good ol Colson Hayes is at it again!! I've never loved a more arrogant character! Sawyer has the hold on Colson that he can't seem to shake and I think deep down he really doesn't want to. Sawyer is still trying to get her life together but she can't seem to find what that is. These two go back and forth so much I feel like I'm getting whiplash! LOL! This book had me on my toes just waiting to find out what happens next. Strike is an amazing book and now I'm dying for book 3 to release! Hazel Grace is an amazing writer that will capture your attention from beginning to end!

Gah! I freaking love Colson and Sawyer. I fell hard for them when I read Interference and I needed to read more of their story. Hazel definitely gave me more in Strike and then left me wanting, waiting, with a gaping hole in my heart. Book #3 better come fast. I cannot wait for more Colson and Sawyer. These two are so hot! So much angst. The heat between these two....I don’t think the fire will ever go out!! Hazel left me craving so much more of this couple. I will be binge reading all 3 books once the next one comes out. This is a series I will reread for years to come!!

Colson and Sawyer in this second book takes you another emotional charged back and forth of emotions, and of the past they both want to forget. We learn more of their past and its not all sunshine and rainbows, It's dark and had a whole lot of pain. Will they be able to ever get past what they both have done to each other or will the continue to let it fester? Another amazing heartbreakly beautiful story that definitely needs you wanting and hoping they get more than what they got. So can not wait for the next one.

This book was a continuation of book one, and includes very much of the same drama. Colson is still being his broody self, and Sawyer is still trying to keep her dad’s business alive without really working towards her dreams. The push and pull is still there and the chemistry is off the charts. I honestly felt like this book was more of a filler book. Nothing was solved and we still do not have a conclusion. It was still well written and included some great scenes that kept me interested in the story. I will definitely read book 3 because I need to know what happens to these characters.

I read both books in this series last night! Idk how I went this long without reading a Hazel Grace story! Even though I find Sawyer to be really irritating at times, I can't get enough of this story. I don't find her irritating actions to be distracting and take away from the story, a problem I have with many other authors. Grace has a skill of not only great writing, but being able to write a REALISTIC story, with REAL characters with flaws. Some of the best angst I have ever read. I will be impatiently waiting for Double Play, and reading Grace's other books in the meantime.
