I know they'd like nothing better than to see that explosion.
And to watch me go down in flames.
WARNING: Burned is the second book in The Del Sol High series. It contains mature themes, sexual content, and profanity. If you're not a fan of those things, this isn't the book for you. But if you like serious stuff mixed with lots of bad words and some sweaty sex, THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU. It is the second in a three book series.
One of Nola's secrets comes out at the end of the first book, and caused her to have some issues with her current friends along with Archer. This book focuses on Nola coming back from keeping this secret from others.
She eventually is back with her friends, and she finds out why Archer is so upset by having people keep things form him. However, there is still another secret that she is keeping. Towards the end of the book she tries to get it out to Archer, but doesn't in time. This ends up with the secret getting out, but not by her.
My heart is totally invested in this book at this point. I feel for this girl. Who wants to move to a new place and get picked on for the same things you were picked on at your previous home. Who wants to be vulnerable to people you just met who have known each other for this whole lives. I can totally understand why Nola has a hard time opening up to other people. Hopefully she will get her happily ever after in the third and final book of the series.
In this book, Nola's secret is revealed and her new friends and archer did not take it really well. She eventually gets them to forgive her but, she still has another secret that she has yet to tell them. Just as she is about to tell Archer, the secret is revealed by someone else. I really felt bad for Nola and in my opinion, her friends and Archer were overreacting to the secrets she kept. If you know about the secrets, I believe that they should have understood why she tried so hard to keep those secrets and prevent them from being exposed. Yet, they get mad at her for 'lying' to them, I wonder if they would've done the same if they were in her position. And though Archer has a reason for being mad when Nola hides stuff from him, I was really annoyed with the way he reacts to stuff like this, it makes their relationship seem so fragile - one lie/secret and its over. Did not really like their relationship, but this really is one drama filled book that gets you hooked up.
It's getting better, but Nola is definitely NOT Presley because Presley was a badass with a brain and memory, two things Nola don't have. Girlll if you want to share your fuck*ng secret don't wait 6 fuck*ng months and be like 'OMG Reese you're such a b*tch'. Reese is also an idiot (what's new?! I know) because it took her 6 months to expose Nola when all she had to do was a google research. Honestly, I don't know who's the most stupid. I need to stop swearing, but this is exhausting I'm going to be nice: Nola is the one who gets to decide if she want to share her past, which is heavy. It's her call, not Reese's. But she's still dumb for waiting so long, oops.
Rating 4.5 stars. I knew it would be the cliffhanger again! So Nola's secret does get revealed by that witch Reese (we knew it would be her!). I guessed part of the secret, but the other part was a big surprise to me. Of course, Archer didn't take it too well and it doesn't look like Nola's friends are taking it well either. I guess we'll find out when she shows up at school on Monday morning. Hope the next book is out soon!

This book was really good, has strong characters especially Nola the MC. The guys are hot as sin, it’s set on the beach in California - so lots of describing of hot male bodies and surfing. Nola has had a horrific upbringing and is dealing with moving to a new school across the country and also getting used to / getting to know her grandparents for the first time in her life. This book has great fight scenes, party scenes and bullying. As I said I really enjoyed it and will definitely read the 3rd book in the series.
nola has a secret and if and when it comes out what happens, This book had drama, suspense and betrayal and love and in a instant its all gone. Find out what happens to nola as she picks up the pieces once again of her life.

It's literally the same book as the sunset series. A lying heroine with secrets, a weird hero who is loved and somehow they find one another and say I love you without any build-up or anything else. She lies, she begs for forgiveness, and accepts after ignoring her... like come on. No way can you do the same series, charge money and just change a few characters names and schools?
Big fan of the author and loved her last series. This series started out the same and has a lot of similarities. The first book of this story was good, i read it in one day, but this book although still enjoyed it, I found the main character very whiny and it was harder to get through.
Again, the book finishes with a cliffhanger! Nola's secret is revealed. I did not see it coming, especially not the other part. Cannot wait for the next book

Wow!! I did not expect for it to end like that. I got to get my hands on the final book. I have hope that Nola will win again. She's too strong not too. If her friends don't forgive her then they never were friends. She will win in the end
People are just so messed up... They're so miserable with them selves, they have to literally ruin someone else to feel at least something. This story is messed up for so many reasons. Yet it was a must read!
this was a really great book! she had everything . a boyfriend and great friends. this secret she is keeping could destroy her. you have to read to find out what happens.
This one continues where the first book left us off. Lots of suspense & drama. Looking forward to the next book. I received a free copy of the book. And am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
