He wants someone to share his heart. She wants someone to share her life. Can two friends find true love together?
Katie “Long Shot” Dickson has to make a choice before time runs out. When a man with whom she corresponds proposes marriage, Katie’s heart tugs her toward the offer. However, tender feelings toward Judge Milton have recently emerged, and she’s torn with her decision. Should she decline the proposal and take a chance on the judge, possibly losing both?
Judge Ernest Milton is a tough man. As a circuit judge in the new state of Colorado, he travels through the mining country, dispensing justice with little time for personal commitments before moving on to the next town and case. Just as he recognizes his love for Katie, he stands to lose her to another man.
Will Ernest and Katie seize the spark between them or suffer the ache of lost love?
If you like stories of the American Wild West and Touched by an Angel, you’ll feast on this series.
Answering an advertisement in the newspaper led to a marriage proposal from a stranger for Katie. Torn between accepting and turning it down, Katie writes 2 letters so she would be ready to post her answer to Henry. However, Katie begins to spend a lot of time with the judge when the railroad company fails to make its payment on leasing the land for letting the train cross her property. Now, life is not as easy as it was. Henry, however, has the same dilemma...He proposed to Catherine, but after spending time with someone else, he realizes that she may not be who God intends for him to marry. All the CREEDE series are great but need to be read in order.
I really enjoyed reading the story of Katie and the Judge. It took me a little while to get into it , to make it through the layers, and then it started to make sense to me. Then I started chuckling, and you will too. There are a lot of dusty layers to go thru but funny and heartfelt. I recommend you read this book.
I loved PROPOSAL BY POST so much, on several different levels. My problem is going to be saying enough about the story to give my reaction and not too much that would spoil it for future readers, for I want to talk about Ernest and Katie’s lovely romance but know to be careful with spoilers.
It’s a special touch in this series to eventually have the story of characters who have been around for a long time but in the background as secondary characters. Now it’s Judge Milton’s and Katie’s turn to shine. Answering an ad that may lead to friendship or more forms the basics of this couple’s story – but what happens when two people who have known each other for years begin to see each other in a different light. And make that discovery after corresponding with someone they might have “settled” for as a life partner even though they wouldn’t have thought “settled” at the time.
I enjoyed watching Ernest and Katie slowly see each other and watch the slow burn of their romance take place. They both have lived a full life, decidedly differently, yet finding true love for Ernest and a second chance at love for Katie is something that will draw the reader in and keep them turning pages until the end. Ernest’s guardian angel is such fun and has been on this assignment for a very long time but things are about to start hopping and Bucko couldn’t be happier about that for both of these people. I loved Katie’s gumption in taking on a, at that time, huge business and Ernest’s helping hand along the way to the resolution was perfect. I had fun with PROPOSAL BY POST, especially love seeing Seasoned Romance again entering this series because love happens every single day no matter the age and fiftyish isn’t too old to fall in love.
I’d recommend any story in the Cowboys and Angels series, but this one was very special and one you shouldn’t miss – especially if you’ve followed the series.
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
This is the 45th book in the Cowboys and Angels series. Now we hear the story about Katie 'Long Shot' Dickson and Judge Ernest Milton. They have been secondary characters in previous books and are older than the typical main characters for stories in this genre. A nice addition of this series is there is a guardian angel who guides the couple together. This guardian angel has been on duty for 30 years. The author intertwined interesting passages from Christian teachings and she included many characters from previous stories in this series and some likely to appear in future stories. This is a great series.
Katie is lonely and writes to Henry and develops feelings for Henry but an old friend Ernest shows up in town. Ernest stirs feelings in Katie and it makes her wonder about her relationship with Henry. Ernest has a romance he's writing to also and proposes marriage to his correspondence romance interest. As he waits for a reply, he realizes his deep feelings for Katie. Should he have waited to propose? There are interesting things going on in Katie's life that make for a fun and entertaining story.
I really enjoyed reading this book, from the very first pages to the last. Proposal By Post is a feel-good & moving romance. Love has no age limit. Delightful characters & small town charm, make it the perfect read. Ernest & Katie, steal your heart. I loved everything about this Must Read Story!!
Catherine is Katie and Henry is his middle name. They've known each other forever, but they really don't know each other. He's had an angel for thirty years! This is the best Credentials story ever!! He's handsome and a judge. She's beautiful and self sufficient. Together they can take on the world.
Catherine answered an add Henry placed looking for a wife and companion. Things were moving forward with their communication and looking promising. However, they both had revelations that they had strong feelings for someone other than the one they were writing to and had to do a great deal of thinking and praying and listening so they could each make a good decision.
Great love story between an older couple. That's not usual in romance novels but I really enjoyed it. The angel plays a fairly big role in this book and I found his interactions quite funny and endearing. Highly recommended.
Such a wonderful book, it was exciting and fun, Ernest and Katie enjoyed each other's company and each had someone they were writing to. Sweet and Wonderful, Thank you Jo Noelle.
What a delightful book. I enjoyed every sentence. It brought back many characters from former books. which I love as a tie in, but Bucko was a hoot especially at the ball. I hope to read more of these characters in future books.
Judge Milton/Earnest/Henry-ready for a wife Catherine/Katie- owns land that part of the railroad rents. I enjoyed reading this engaging story that is well written with vibrant characters and a witty angel. Their story has a wonderful HEA!
This is honestly one of my favorite Cowboys and Angels stories. Watching Katie and Ernest navigate the twists and turns was fun and had me smiling and laughing too! Wonderful plot, well crafted and delivered! Thank you!
Out of all 45 Cowboys And Angels books, to date, I think this is my favorite! It was so enjoyable to read a story about an older couple finding a special love later in life. Shows that love can be found at all ages!
Katie is a strong woman with a sharp mind, she has a lot of friends and isn't afraid of hard work. Judge Milton has an angel with him where ever he goes. The judge writes an ad for a a mail order bride.
I'm a widow in my fifties who appreciates stories about those in their more senior years finding love. Thanks to this writing team for creating such a sweet love story for Katie and Ernest.
Adventurous and fun story of Katie and the Judge. Katie and Steffen have a dance then a rodeo and a trial against the railroad. Falling in love was between all of those! - Babs
