Sometimes, bad decisions felt really, really good.
And Gray knew a thing or two about bad decisions. He and his best friends had a bad habit, seeking revenge for innocent people by stealing luxury cars from the men who harmed them. Gray loved the hell out of a joyride, but he started on a different path the night his uncle came knocking, offering him a legitimate job as a bodyguard.
A bodyguard for the prettiest damn guy Gray had ever seen. Jameson had been a teen dream action star before he retired from showbusiness at age twenty. He needed a bodyguard like Gray to keep the paparazzi away, and his secrets out of the public eye.
And Jameson had a lot of pretty secrets.
Once Jameson pouted his lips, Gray couldn’t resist himself. He got another bad idea. One that started with a stolen motorcycle and ended in a motel bed.
Because Gray can give Jameson love on the run. But can he make it last?
Stealing Pretty is Book 2 in Bad Boy Security, a steamy M/M series with guaranteed HEAs and plenty of twists. It can be enjoyed as a standalone, but for maximum pleasure, the series should be read in order. Enjoy!
this was such a sweet story.. it was interesting and fast paced. made me happy and laugh.. these two had to figure out so much.. together and as individual people.. it was just a good story and i cant wait for the next one.
Stealing Pretty is book 2 in the Bad Boy Security Series. I liked it a bit more than book 1 , Guarding His Heart.
With that said, I had difficulties connecting with the characters; therefore, it took me a few days to read it. Unusual for me , as I read 1 and 2 books a day, depending on the length.
It's more than likely , it's me , and not the story , situation going on here, as many other readers liked it. Give it a try, you might enjoy it.
Sweetness levels: High Angst levels: Medium low Drama levels: Medium Heat meter: Medium high Humor levels: Medium Rating: falls between a 2.75 and 3 stars

Stealing Pretty is the second installment in the Bad Boy Security series. I enjoyed the first book, Guarding His Heart, very much, so I was excited to read this one. I was not disappointed. I really liked it. It was fun read that was smooth and compelling and I was caught up from the beginning.
Gray was introduced in Guarding His Heart and I just knew he’d be excellent in a story of his own. Ok, so he’s a criminal, but he has a good heart, loves his family, and has strong relationship with is two best friends. I love how much he respected his uncle Declan and wanted him to be proud. Another positive? Even though Gray was sort of a tough guy, he was a true softie on the inside. He admits liking Jameson’s action movies and is a little star struck. I found that to be sort of adorable.
Independent reviewer for Gay Romance Reviews, I was gifted my copy of this book.
This is book 2 in the Bad Boy Security series, but it can be totally read as a stand alone. Declan and Seb (from Guarding his Heart) do play a part here, but it isn't necessary to read their book. $ star read, though, from me.
As is this one!
Gray has made some bad decisions, but is mostly doing some good now. Maybe not legal, but good, kinda. Sorta. Anyway, his Uncle Declan asks him to do a job for his new security firm, and Gray is off like a shot. Finding that job is for Justin Sweet, the child Hollywood star who disappeared into the ether a little while ago, is the icing on the cake for him. But Jameson, as is his chaosen name, puts on a front for the world and Gray can see right through it. When Gray makes a bad decision and they go on an adventure, he quickly realises he may be over his head, with this job and in far too deep with his heart.
I really REALLY enjoyed this book 2. Not enough to give it 5 stars, but I did enjoy it more than book 1.
Gray is a rough sort of chap, bought up in the same crime family Declan was, but these guys are working hard to pull themselves away. Gray enjoys what he is doing with his team, a bit Robin Hood-ish, but they could still get into a lot of trouble IF caught. Doing this job for Declan gives him time to think about his future, but meeting Jameson throws everything up in the air.
Jameson is hiding. He hated his time on the soap, and the movies, but what he hated most was the media. Paparazzi photograpers amd reporters making up stuff, and even when his parents died, Jameson wasn't left alone. Hiring Gray was necessary, but meeting Gray makes Jameson want all kinds of things he knew he wanted, but could never have, not in the spotlight as he was.
Jameson and Gray's attraction to each other is powerful, right from the start and it doesn't take long for them to become physically closer as well as emotionally. Going on this adventure, while fun, was a great time to become so much more. Then things spiral out of control, and Gray calls to Declan for help.
Jameson does a lot of soul searching here. He has put on a face for the world for so long, he doesn't know who he really is anymore. His best friend, Dee, she helps, but Jameson knows he needs more. He doesnt really know WHAT that more is, but deep down, he knows that face he puts on is killing the REAL Jameson, the one he really wants to be.
The story is quite an easy read, with no fall outs, break ups or anything like that. It's just a story of two men falling in love, and of one young man finally becoming himself.
Thoroughly enjoyable read, and I wonder if Raiden, one of Gray's team, might be up next.
This was a different type of read. There is minimal, and I mean very minimal, danger. There is a lot of sexual tension between the two main characters. And last but not least, this story features a lot of running from paparazzi.
When Declan (from book one) calls on his nephew, Gray, to help him with a security job, Gray is not sure at first. But eventually he gives in. That is how he finds himself being the bodyguard of one of his favorite stunt men.
Though Gray, for the most part, lives a life on this side of the law, there are some exceptions to that rule for him and his two best friends. When they do something illegal, it is in the name of revenge for someone. They basically steal from the rich to avenge the poor or someone who has been wronged.
Jameson, or better known by others as Justin Sweet, has been out of the acting scene for a while now. But that has not given him any reprieve. The paparazzi are relentless where he is concerned, even going so far as trying to break into his home to get something on him to report. Jameson finally decides to hire security to help with the problem. He just never imagined being so attracted to the man who is meant to protect him.
Protecting Jameson is not what Gray thought it would be. He soon realizes that hardly anyone knows the real Jameson. With each day that passes, Gray is finding something new and innocent about the man.
The closer these two grow, the more it seems that the paps are determined to dig something up on Jameson. So when Jameson has had all he can take, Gray comes up with a plan to give him some time away from everything and more time for the two of them.
The question is, can they pull this off? What will happen when these two realize that there is so much more then just attraction between the two of them?
This was a very good read. I really enjoyed it. Both Gray and Jameson are very likable characters that draw you in. I look forward to more books in this series in the future.
NOTE: This book was provided by the author for the purpose of a review on Rainbow Book Reviews.
Stealing Pretty is the second installement of R. Cayden's Bad Boy Security series; and it can be read as a stand alone. But for a more enyoyable expericen it worth it to read the first book because MC's of book 1 make appeareances in book 2. I really enjoyed this book more than the first.
Gray is a rough guy, brought up in a crime family but he's working hard to pull himself away from all that. Turning his activities into something "more positive" still a "bad guy" but a Robin Hood-ish kinda like. What he and his team do is still dangerous and and risky if they get caught but for Gray it is worth it.
Jameson is struggling. Having been a teenager action super star in the showbusiness industry, HE IS DONE WIHT IT and TIRED of all THAt. What he hate most is the media. Paparazzis, gossipy reporters are his worst nightmares. Even when his parents died, Jameson wasn't left alone, they kept messing with him. So he needed a bodyguard, someone to protect him from all those leeches. Hiring Gray was necessary, but getting to know him better makes Jameson want all kinds of things he knew he wanted, but thought could never had, not with him being in the spotlight and everyone trying to intrude in his private life.
Jameson and Gray's attraction to each other is powerful, right from the start and it doesn't take long for them to become physically closer as well as emotionally.
This was such a sweet story, it made me laugh and it was just a good story. I can't wait for the next one in the series.
*I read an ARC of the book in exchange of my honest review.
Stealing pretty gives us Gray's story as he's sent to be the bodyguard for Jameson, an actor who decided to step away from the acting world but is not left alone by the paparazzi. This story really gives you a look into the trappings of fame and how the public and reporters think they should have access to the celebrities life. Great and Jameson are ridiculously sweet together, each exactly what the other needs, especially at this moment in time. Gray gets to feel useful as he keeps Jameson safe but also helps him to feel alive again. Jameson finds a person he can trust in Gray and allows himself to show off a side that he has only ever shown to his best friend. They really do have a grand adventure together with a bit of risk, a lot of excitement and lots of exploring in their relationship. Trust builds quickly between them but feels natural as we go through the story. Memories are made that neither man thought possible but especially Jameson as he expected to live alone with his secrets for quite a while. There is great chemistry between the two men, the developer their friendship and romance feels natural. A wonderful group of friends help to boost the fun and provide support right from the start. They clearly all mean the world to each other. This is another great bodyguard romance from R. Cayden. I highly recommend the series and am looking forward to book three. I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.
An good book for Gray and Jameson. Grays first job as a bodyguard with a celebrity would be interesting I thought. The incites of Grays body-guarding duties is definitely different but it mixes his with what he used to do and kept me entertained. I really liked the side characters in this with bringing a little humour now and than especially Hortico. Drama keeps popping up with the media and Gray takes matters on, well his own way. I loved the sexy scenes included and Jameson's shedding his shell. Overall a good story I liked although I didn't connect to them.
When Grays uncle asked him to help with a bodyguard job, Gray needed $$$. Jameson 25 was a famous celebrity now in retirement with media hounding him.
Being a young actor in Hollywood and staying away from drugs and the party scene, and not having a string of relationships, seems like a rare thing for someone famous and in the spotlight all the time. I liked that about Jameson. It was refreshing to have a famous person who was really down to earth. I appreciated that the author made him more femme. And I loved that Gray thought Jameson was perfect the way he was, and always called him beautiful.
Despite that, I had a harder time getting through this book than the last. I just couldn't connect with the characters, and the story didn't pull me in.
First rule of bodyguarding: don’t get involved personally with clients, although Gray knows this, he falls hard for Jameson almost as soon as he sees him. Jameson totally surprises Gray, as he is the complete opposite of how you might think a celebrity would act. Jameson is kind, caring and simply wants to be left alone by the press, to get on with his life on his own terms.
This is a sweet and nicely written romance. It was such a nice easy read, and I fell in love with both Gray and Jameson. They were so likeable, I enjoyed watching them grow and develop together, as they fell in love. The storyline was interesting and engaging. It was a perfect story to read on a lazy afternoon.
I preferred book one in the series to this one, just because the two characters there were more mature and not still sowing their wild oats. The two guys here are still turned on by doing wild and crazy things and when they get together they kind of egg each other on. Granted, that was a given in the premise of the book as Declan only sends Gray out to be a bodyguard to try to keep him from doing some crazy things with a gang of friends he is involved with. If you enjoy action and steamy romance between characters that still have quite a bit of growing up to do but still manage to commit to each other through good and bad you will enjoy this story.
R Cayden is an expert in writing romantic plots that involved emotional characters who struggled trying to find themselves before getting their together. This story is like that, a great love story with some angst, a little bit of danger, secrets to be revealed and a lot of romance and hot scenes. A nice, sweet story that will made your day lighter. Loved it! I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest opinion.
Gray and Jameson are the stars of the 2nd book in the series. Gray starts to work for his Uncle Declan as a bodyguard and is employed to protect Jameson. This book is well written, flows well, has some funny moments like when Jameson knocks his hat off his own head exposing himself! It has some passionate times, I loved the way that Gray looked after Jameson and I adored that Jameson made Gray feel he was worthy. The added friends were great and I can’t wait to read about Raiden next!
Gray is a bit of a troublemaker so his uncle, Declan from book 1, sends him out to guard Jameson, a former movie star. Gray and Jameson both have some maturing to do and some obstacles to overcome, but it was very enjoyable watching them get to know one another and somehow make it work. There is some angst and drama in this one but also lots of sexy times between them. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Former teen star who wants a normal life and his new bodyguard, both young, both still searching, and finding friendship and love with each other amid drama, adventure, breaking the law, and learning how to grow together. It was more involved and had more depth than book one. I'm interested to see where the author takes book three.
I received this as an ARC from GRR, but the opinions in this review are all mine.
I was so excited to see Gray get a story after meeting him in Declan and Seb's story. Gray and Jameson has such a sweet story. The way that Gray cares deeply for everyone made Jameson let down his guard enough to fall for Gray. Jameson who was just starting to accept who he was, blossomed under Gray's love and acceptance and the love and acceptance of Gray's family. Hopefully Raiden gets a story soon!
I loved Gray and Jameson's story. I thought they were fun characters to read about. I really liked that Gray wanted Jameson as he is and didn't try to change him in any way. I liked Gray in the first book of this series so I was happy he got his own HEA. I also liked seeing Declan and Seb again, too.
Sometimes a wrong decision is the right thing! I really enjoyed this book with it’s characters being opposites and their supporting group of misfits that make up up family. This was a lot of fun to read it was quite a quick read and is well paced. Can’t wait to read what comes next.
This was such a sweet, charming, grab-you-by-the-feels, engaging, amazing, endearing, smoking hot, adorable, funny, delightful, and totally awesome twist on your usual bodyguard/client and bad boy/sweet storylines. I was hooked from beginning to end, and enjoyed reading every single page.
Perfectly fine read. I found both characters a little frustrating at times and it dragged a little with them going "on the run". Makeup angle was interesting but not quite my thing, and was a little over-emphasized.
DNF at 50%. I just couldn't get into this one. Nothing seemed realistic at all. A major celebrity with SeCrEtS to hide hires a tiny no name security company that has criminals? Mmhm sure.
Justin Jameson Sweet is an actor who is retired from the Hollywood spotlight but the paparazzi still knocking on his door, wanna know what his life after his retirement. In order to protect himself, he hire a bodyguard, Gray. Justin Sweet is his public persona. No one know about Jameson, his real self, except for his best friend. The first time he met Gray, he wanted Gray to called him Jameson not Justin. Slowly he open up his true self to Gray, revealing his deepest secrets to Gray. I love how their relationship develop and Jameson do not need to pretend in front of Gray. Jameson feel safe and protected and finally he find new family with Gray and Gray's friend and Declan and Seb.
