Everywhere Jacob Michaels goes, trouble follows. Trouble was the reason he ran away from home at sixteen-years-old to go to Hollywood. Trouble was the reason he ran away from Hollywood to come back home to Point Worth, Ohio. Creating trouble everywhere he goes is why he is now standing in the Maumee River next to his bleeding boyfriend while bathed in light. How much trouble can Jacob Michaels...er, Rob Wagner...get into over the course of a day? There will be magic, visions, a gaudy Hollywood manager, tiny household creatures, witches, disposing of dead bodies, werewolves, kidnapping, murder...and flipped chickens. But by the end of the day, lines will be drawn and it will be a race for Rob to get away from it all.Or is it too late for running away to be the answer to all of his trouble?
Chase Connor spends his days writing about the people who live (loudly and rent-free) in his head when he’s not busy being enthusiastic about naps and Pad Thai. Chase started his writing career as a confused gay teen looking for an escape from reality. Ten years later, one of the books he wrote during those years, Just A Dumb Surfer Dude: A Gay Coming-of-Age Tale, was published independently. Chase has numerous projects in various stages of completion lined up for publishing. Chase is a multi-genre author, but always with a healthy dollop of gay.
This was book five of this m/m werewolf story. I did enjoy it but not nearly as good as the other four. One book left so I will finish the series for sure. 3.75 stars rounded up to four.
Another fun entry in this entertaining series. Equal parts romance, adventure, fantasy, horror, and mystery, there's a little something for everyone here. The humor in this installment was even more of a standout as well as the continued focus on the ever-changing relationship between Rob and Lucas. Like the others in the series, this one ends on a bit of a cliffhanger which I personally don't mind since I will be rather sad to see this saga come to an end. It's hard to go into the plot without revealing spoilers so I will just say that the author's signature blend of sex, snark, scares, and sweetness combined with skilled writing are all present. You'll want to start with the first in the series and read through if you haven't already, but this was another satisfying chapter in the Jacob Michaels series for me.
If you know me at all, you know that Chase Connor is one of my favorite authors, AND that I'm completely obsessed with this series. I HAVE to read each new book the very day it's released.
The last book finished with a huge cliffhanger, and you can rest assured this one picks up immediately where the last one ended.
As the storyline progresses, it's becomes increasingly harder to talk about it without giving away any spoilers. Once again, I'll just say the synopsis will give you a pretty good idea of what you can expect from this book.
I'll also say I think this was my favorite book in the series so far. Once I started reading it, I honestly couldn't put it down. I loved everything about it. It's full of suspense, magic, friendship, love, humor, werewolves, adventure, whimsy, action...I could just go on and on and on.
IT WAS SOOOOOO GOOD!
If you haven't read any of these books...I mean...YOU JUST HAVE TO! Start at the beginning, and I guarantee you'll read one right after the other.

I'm a little.disappointed with book 5 of the Point Worth LGBTQ Paranormal Romance series. It just took a turn toward ho hum. The characters became dumb, I'm sad to say, acting out of their established ways. And why two men in love continually keep important information from each other when their lives could depend on it is beyond me. The one thing I'm happy with is that the author didn't go into more detail on the Fifty Shades sex scene giving any credence to a book that horribly presented a life style choice. Come on Chase Connor you can do better. Going to take a break from this series.
This book is just as good as the others, but things are really starting to come together now. I loved the scenes between Rob and Jason. They were very well thought out, but most of all, I love the way the personal scenes between Lucas and Rob are presented.
I can't wait to read the last book, even though I'm sorry that the series is ending. I've enjoyed every second.
Over a thousand pages collectively throughout books 1-5 and I still feel like I have no idea what's happening or where this will end. On the other hand, the entire series has been strangely addictive and would work well as a television series as it has inspired a fervor in me much like Buffy the Vampire Slayer did. Gotta wait till 2020 before the last book comes out, and hopefully I'll finally get some answers!
Waiting even a day for the next book is going to kill me! I have thoroughly enjoyed this series and cannot wait for the final book to fully explain the magic, werewolves, and hooded cape man.
So much detail has gone into creating a formidable cast, tons of action, and even romance. Once you start these books, you'll be hooked!
This series has really developed. They're very short entries so it would be nice to have them as part of a single story for improved pacing and continuity. Regardless, they're still fun and have become more interesting with each installment.
