Gets You Thinking… and Putting It into Action

I absolutely adore reading good nonfiction. Despite the plethora of nonfiction that we have now at Amazon because of its delightful self-publishing platform, I'm often surprised how mediocre the nonfiction out there these days actually is. So many people slap together random information on trending topics to make a quick buck. I am delighted to say that this book is not one of them. Clearly, the author has given this book a lot of thought, no pun intended, and he shares some interesting strategies on creativity and implementation of those ideas with us. The book is firmly divided into two main sections, one about getting and refining creative ideas and the second part about putting it into practice or making it happen. Each section has a variety of strategies. I don't wholly agree with his definition of creativity, which includes not only the concept of an idea being new but also being useful. I don't think creativity needs to be narrowed in such a fashion. Art, after all, often creates something new, but is it useful, per se? Not really, usually, but does that devalue the creativity of it? If you're looking for strategies to help you with more creative endeavors, from the first thoughts to complete implementation, you may very well enjoy this book.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

I found this book discounted on Amazon via BargainBooksy; this is my honest review.
I liked the way the book was separated and planned. It made sense and followed a clean thinking. He does refer to other chapters to remind you that the subject is either coming or already talked about.
I've put myself several notes to either read further or search on my own time such as George Perec's poem made out of anagrams or his novel (already in my wish list) entirely written without the letter "e", which are both interesting.
