After the regretful close of his relationship, Rodney Franklin seeks the comfort of family and friends in his hometown of Philadelphia. While reconnecting with his past, Rodney discovers he and a childhood friend both shared a disturbing experience-they were both victims of child molestation at the hands of the same depraved man. In their attempt to right the wrongs of the past, Rodney and his friends find themselves in very present trouble. Amidst it all, Rodney's old flame, Katrina, enters the picture in hopes of resuming her role as damsel in distress, but this time around, she finds Rodney is not the man she once knew. UNSPEAKABLE is the follow-up to Michael-Christopher's critically acclaimed, FROM TOP TO BOTTOM (ISBN 0-9710398-4-4)

Talking about it is the Ultimate Taboo ...

Men don't talk about certain things, not even with the best of friends. Short of incest, talking about it is the ultimate taboo. This is one of the themes in 'Unspeakable' by Michael-Christopher, author of 'Top to Bottom'. Male sexual abuse is certainly one of those unspeakable things in society that, because of the social stigma and taboo aura, goes unreported, untreated, and thus grants its perpetrator free reign to continue to abuse with impunity.

Rodney Franklin, after ending a relationship, returns to his hometown and feels the need to reconnect with friends. As the reunion unfolds, certain troubling aspects of the friends' lives and memories of his own begin to paint a picture of events from years past; childhood experiences they shared, misty memories long sublimated, and ultimately the painful and unspeakable truth begins to finally find a voice.

Michael-Christopher tackles this taboo with style and sensitivity and turns this uncomfortable subject into a must read for everyone who felt they couldn't release those demons inside. Because those demons, if not vented, will certainly fester and destroy you. ~
