Karly Lane lives on the beautiful Mid North Coast of NSW in Australia. A certified small town girl, she is most happy in a little town where everyone knows who your grand parents were. She writes women’s fiction – everything from romantic suspense to family sagas and life in rural Australia. She has romantic suspense titles published under Karlene Blakemore-Mowle and her latest release, Third Time Lucky is available now.
It had been two years since Lincoln Callahan stood at the gates of Stringybark Creek a property that had been in his family for over five generations. Linc had been away in the army in Afghanistan and as he stood at Stringybark gates it felt like he’d been away a great deal longer. His sister Hadley was about to become married and relatives from all over would soon start arriving at Stringybark Creek.
Linc’s brother Griffin decided to stay on at the family property and help out, unlike Linc, who couldn’t settle and went off to the army. Griffin was happy enough to stick around, but it seems since he set eyes on city girl Cash Sullivan that might all change. When Linc crosses paths with Cash he too is immediately drawn to her, but he can’t act on his feelings when he finds out she is dating his brother or could he?
The Wrong Callahan by Aussie author Karly Lane is the first book in the Series of The Callahans of Stringybark Creek and what a cracking start to the series it is. I’ve read most of Karly’s books and loved all of them and this book was another wonderful and enjoyable book. If like me, you enjoy reading rural and romance, then I suggest you grab a copy of this book as I’m certain you’ll enjoy it just as much or if not more than I did. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
It was perfect!! The Wrong Callahan’s setting is Stringybark Creek, a family farm in Rankins Springs, in the heartland of the NSW Riverina. A small rural town where everyone knows everyone’s business and you can’t make a move without everyone knowing about it. This comes as a bit of a shock to city girl Cash Sullivan who is in town to help out at best friend Savannah’s Day Spa. Cash has always kept to herself but the friendly and welcoming neighbours, the Callahans, soon have her wondering what it would be like as part of a real family.
Cash has always been attracted to ‘bad boys’ and it has always left her heartbroken. Maybe the reserved Griffin Callahan is just who she needs in her life and it’s hard not to spend time with him when the matchmaking Callahan women keep pushing them together.
Linc hadn’t been home to Stringybark Creek since he left the army, two years ago. He was the son that couldn’t get away from the farm fast enough but has returned a hero in everyone’s eyes. As soon as Linc sets eyes on cash he feels a strong attraction. An attraction that he is finding difficult to resist.
Lane has delivered exactly what the genre promises; a rural romance with all the feels and characters to fall in love with (a whole family of them) but not all squeaky clean. Cash has a past she would rather keep hidden but she has turned her life around and is determined not to follow in the footsteps of her parents.
Lane raises the question; do you have a type when it comes to relationships and can this be changed?
The whole Callahan family is back home for Christmas and one of the siblings, Hadley’s New Years Eve wedding. I love the Callahan family but they aren’t as perfect as they seem when you dig a little below the surface.
Behind the romance the story has themes of sibling rivalry, close knit families, the silent but catastrophic PTSD and the all consuming trauma of a war zone.
All the way through this story I was thinking how much I wanted to read Griff’s story and yes!! I find out it is book 2 ‘Mr Right Now’. And what’s with Harmony? Will Hadley’s marriage last? So many questions I can’t wait for the rest of this series. The story pulled me in from the start and wouldn’t let go until the very last page.
It was the first time in two years since Linc Callahan had returned home to Stringybark Creek – he’d since left the army after his final tour of Afghanistan and the business he and two mates had started was doing well. But the peace he knew he would find at home with his mother Lavinia and father Bob, plus his siblings was something he was looking forward to. Christmas was only a few weeks away, then it would be his sister, Hadley’s wedding. Much would be happening, hence his earlier arrival.
Cash Sullivan had arrived to take over the operation of her best friend, Savannah’s health and wellness centre, while she and her husband were travelling. It included such treatments as massages and spas, and she would be helping prepare bridesmaids and bride for the upcoming wedding. Linc’s younger brother, Griff was on Cash’s radar – he was a gentle man and seemed shy. But she liked him. That was until she caught sight of Linc across the room at a Callahan family dinner. Sparks flew – but Cash was determined to stay right away from him. Apart from anything else, she couldn’t cause trouble between the brothers…
The Wrong Callahan is the first in a new series by Aussie author Karly Lane and is set in the rural countryside not far from Griffith in NSW. A familiar setting for me, and I could easily visualize the farm and the surrounding bushland. The Callahan family, especially Lavinia and Bob, were delightful; while there is mystery surrounding a couple of the others. An enjoyable rural romance which I have no trouble recommending.
With thanks to Allen & Unwin for my ARC to read in exchange for an honest review.
*https://mrsbbookreviews.wordpress.com So begins a highly anticipated new trilogy from one of Australia’s top notch rural romance storytellers, Karly Lane. The Wrong Callahan marks the beginning of a brand new contemporary themed romance series set in the arid heartland region of the New South Wales Riverina, in close proximity to Rankin Springs. Stringybark Creek is the centre of attention in Karly Lane’s latest release and it has been the home to the Callahan family for over five generations. The Callahans are firmly rooted in Stringybark, they are a tight knit clan, but when matters of the heart get in the way, the Callahan clan are sent to breaking point.
At the front and centre of The Wrong Callahan, the twelfth novel from rural romance extraordinaire Karly Lane, is Lincoln Callahan. When the story begins, Linc is returning to his family home after more than two years away. Linc’s career in the army has taken him far away from Stringybark Creek in rural New South Wales, to the other side of the world in Afghanistan. Linc is the one Callahan child that has been unable to settle down. Now Linc feels he owes it to his struggling family to return home to the farm. On the other hand, younger brother Griff is trustworthy and kind hearted . Griff chose to stay put and support the family farm, even though it has been struggle for the Callahans. Griff has feelings for the new girl in town Cash and they have been slowly developing a low key relationship. When Linc comes on the scene all this changes. There is an instant attraction between Cash and Linc. Cash initially tries to resist the urge to indulge in any kind of romantic relationship with Linc, as she just has a feeling that he is wrong for her. Then there is the added complication of Griff and his feelings for Cash. This is culminates into a complicated love triangle. The Wrong Callahan examines love, honour, commitment, trust, family and the emotional baggage we all bear.
Just in time for Christmas Karly Lane returns with another winning read. Not only has Karly Lane blessed us with a book that would make the perfect Christmas gift for any booklover, she has also released a novel that forms part of a new addictive series. Lane’s latest book introduces the reader to the Callahans. With patriarch Bob at the helm, along with his dear wife Lavinia and their offspring, it was a true pleasure to become acquainted with this genuine Aussie family, who define the meaning ‘Aussie battler’.
As I have witnessed in many of Karly Lane novels, her characterisation is always of a high standard. It was great to see very different occupation for the leading lady of the story, Cash. It was added extra to learn more about the health, wellness, beauty and massage, via Cash’s career. The pampering and work that goes on behind the scenes to ensure bridal parties are ready for their big day is explored between the pages of The Wrong Callahan. There are hints of Cash’s troubled upbringing and I did feel like I wanted a little more on this line of the story, it was an interesting one. In Lincoln Callahan, we receive a solid insight into the world of our returned soldiers. I felt this story thread was well researched and thoughtful. Lane works hard to ensure each and every member of the Callahan family are outlined to perfection. The entire Callahan family feel so very real and genuine. It is almost like Lane has taken a typical real life farming family and modelled the Callahans on this firsthand knowledge. I have a great deal of admiration for Lane and her inherent ability to inject so much life into her character set.
Family politics form a significant part of this novel. There is plenty of tension that arrives for the Callahan family early on in the novel, stemming from the sibling rivalry issues between Lincoln and his younger brother Griffin. Immediately we learn of the sense of resentment that surrounds these two brothers. Griffin seems to have the weight of the struggling family farm on his shoulders, as he is the dependable one, determined to do the right thing by his hardworking parents. Meanwhile, you can pick up on Griff’s frustration and feelings of jealousy immediately. As Lincoln was able to leave the family farm and forge an exciting career abroad in the army, Griff feels left behind. Adding further problems to the Callahans is the pressure of the upcoming big wedding of daughter Hadley, which brings Linc back to Stringybark. Lane handles this aspect of her novel incredibly well and there are some fantastic interactions, along with scenes that are thick with tension, which accompanies some great dialogue.
Romance is the order of the day in The Wrong Callahan. When the book beings we are made aware of the tentative relationship that is beginning to form between Cash, the new girl in town and Griff Callahan. Cash is aware that Griff is the type of guy she should fall in love with. Griff is dependable, loyal and sweet, but there is no spark between the two. When Linc arrives on the scene things quickly spiral out of control. Cash turns her attentions to the wrong Callahan brother. Cash knows in her heart that Linc is bad news, but she cannot help but fall head over heels for him. Linc feels the same way about Cash, but he knows he would betray his brother and break his heart if he were to engage in a relationship with Cash. I just adored this relationship dynamic, Lane really sinks her teeth into this complicated love triangle, highlighting the shifting emotions that swirl around the characters. There are plenty of roadblocks that stand in the way of this relationship dynamic. Lane also turns up the heat in the love stakes, Linc and Cash sizzle, which is virtually from the very moment they lock eyes. But, as we know with all rural romance novels, the path to love is never an easy one. There is a powerful scene composed beautifully by Lane that explores the confrontation and realisation of this complicated love triangle. It is both heartbreaking and addictive following this love story, but I guarantee readers will be pleased with the eventual resolution. Without spoiling matters too much, I hope to see a happy ever after for one of the main characters of the story who missed out. I also hope that Lane explores the history of Stringybark in a future installment, tracking back to the generations that worked on Callahan land before the present day occupants.
When Karly Lane was made an Australia Day Ambassador in 2017, she was invited to a region close the where The Wrong Callahan is set, the Riverina district in New South Wales. This was a life changing experience for Karly Lane, which has clearly been channelled into her latest novel. The landscape of the region took her breath away and it also encouraged her resolve to a write story that highlights the expansive practices of our farming sector. Karly Lane has made it her priority to make Australian readers aware of the blood, sweat and tears that go into our farming industry. This is demonstrated to full capacity in The Wrong Callahan, through the tireless work of each member of the family. With each scene in the novel, the setting is considered carefully and presented to the highest degree of authenticity. Although The Wrong Callahan is here to entertain rural romance readers, Karly Lane would love the audience to take away a small sense of appreciation of the work our agricultural workers commit to, day in day out. It truly is tremendous and worthy of our attention in this current challenging environment for our Aussie farmers.
It was sad to say goodbye to a family that I seemed to embrace for the whole three hundred plus pages of The Wrong Callahan. However, with a sneak peak in the form of a synopsis of book two of the next chapter of The Callahans of Stringybark Creek, I could think of no better consolation prize! I can’t wait to revisit Stringybark. The Wrong Callahan embodies Karly Lane’s passionate rural voice, reminding us of the value she is to Australian fiction. A must buy for all Aussie readers.
The Wrong Callahan by Karly Lane was published on 28th November 2018 by Allen & Unwin. Details on how to purchase the book can be found here.

The Wrong Callahan is book #147 of the Australian Women Writers Challenge
Three and a half stars. It had been two years since Lincoln Callahan had been back to Stringybark Creek. He couldn’t wait to leave the family farm. Since then he#’s been in the army in Afghanistan. It has left him with more than a few issues and nightmares. Meanwhile his younger brother Griffin has been at home with their parents looking after the farm. Griffin is attracted to newcomer in town, Cash Sullivan. Cash has a history of choosing the wrong guys to fall for, so Griffin would be a good safe choice. Except that she feels nothing but friendship for Griff. When she meets Linc, Cash can see he is all wrong for her. And yet..... This is the first in a series about the Callahan family. Family dynamics are interesting as they prepare for a high profile wedding for Hadley and her celebrity TV journalist. The wedding has already been postponed twice. Everyone hopes this time it will go off without a hitch. Lavinia Callahan is one of those women who likes to have a hand in rural community life and also organise the lives of her two sons and daughters. She loves having her family all around her and quickly tries to include Cash. But Cash’s family situation is nothing like that of the Callahans. She’snot Really sure what to make of the Callahan’s but Lavinia is hard to say no to. I liked Lavinia and her husband Bob, also warmed to Hadley, Linc and Cash. Harmony has a few issues going on as does Griff. I did think certain aspects of Cash’s background and where she came from, were a bit cliched and the romance angle started to wear on me after a while. But I really enjoyed the family dynamics and the setting in the Riverina. An enjoyable read with largely likable characters. The ending did seem to wrap up too quickly and neatly though.
What a story from Karly Lane! From the opening chapters meeting Linc and Cash, I was immediately invested in their story. Set in the Riverina district of Southern NSW, the story where everyone knows your business, it explores the complexity of family relationships and so much more. At the core of the story is of course, Cash and Lincoln's attraction to each other. As will all romance novels, you know they're going to end up together, but it takes a great writer to have you engaged and invested to follow their journey throughout the novel. Karly Lane does this seemingly effortless. Before I knew it was half-way through and then finished - although wishing it hadn't ended! It's a good thing it's the first in the series! Those who love romance, rural romance and stories with depth, will adore this novel.
The publisher sent me this book for my honest review.
I liked this book, it was a solid piece of Australian Rural Fiction. I will say this though, it was kind of predictable in a way, well the title kind of give it away really! I enjoyed the characters and can't wait to find out what is happening with the other Callahans, particularly the girls. I am also very familiar with the area that it is set in (my husbands family is from there), so it was nice to read about a place that I know so well.
Karly Lane is back with her newest rural fiction novel, The Wrong Callahan. This is the start of The Callahans of Stringybark Creek trilogy. I had enjoyed If Wishes Were Horses and after reading Mrs B recommendation for Someone Like You, The Wrong Callahan felt like my next read. While Lane's books are classified as rural, the only part that felt rural was the setting, suiting me perfectly. The Wrong Callahan is ultimately about family while delving into other issues along the way, such as marriage, brothers and PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder). Told in the third person, the story line alternates between two main characters, Linc Callahan and the girl next door, Cash Sullivan, as they settle in to country life.
I was immediately drawn into the story line of ex soldier, Linc Callahan, returning to his roots in Stringybark Creek for the first time in many years. I felt for Linc and could relate to him as I have an ex miltary member in the family. Lane sensitively dealt with a man in denial about PTSD, along with the short and long term effects that it had on him. She also shows the impact that it can have on family and friends if it goes undiagnosed. Linc's parents, Bob and Lavinia, as well as his siblings, Griffin, Hadley and Harmony appear happy to have him home but things are not as they appear. Linc and Griff have deep, unresolved issues and to complicate matters, both brothers have fallen for Cash. Hadley is a celebrity preparing for her big home town wedding while Harmony's marraige appears to be in jeopardy. Bob and Lavinia are the glue that hold together the family. When compared with the rest of the family members though, they were rather bland in comparison so a little drama here wouldn't have gone astray.
I enjoyed spending time getting to know each of the family members with all their quirks as they navigated family life with all it's ups and downs along the way. My issue here was that there was no central problem that the family had to navigate which is so common in many rural books. Problems such as fire or drought that threaten the farm or community bring everyone together. It instils a sense of community for the readers. Instead there is a variety of personal problems that need to be sorted out.
Cash Sullivan is the city girl running away from her family life, finding herself living in Stringybark Creek next door to the Callahan's. Here, Cash is operating the only beauty salon for kilometres while her good friend, Savannah, is on holidays. It's salvation for many women but a mystery to the local men! Cash has her own dark past she keeps close to her heart, shutting people out before they can delve into her life, particularity men. Life certainly got interesting with the two Callahan men wanting to get to know Cash better. It's evident from the start who Cash in love with but how she deals with the brother is what kept me hooked. I also couldn't guess what occurred in Cash's past, so I was as surprised as Linc. However, I believe it is her past that has made Cash the strong, resilient woman she is today. I admired Cash for being the care free spirit that she was with no ties who speaks her mind. Cash is someone to aspire to in many ways as she finds where she belongs for the first time.
The Wrong Callahan is an easy, fast paced read for fans of Karly Lane or those who are looking for something on the light side.
Trigger warnings: PTSD, sort of cheating??, violence, hospitalisation.
3.5 stars.
This is the first romance book I've read set in rural Australia, and it was a fast-paced and enjoyable story. The sibling dramas and mysterious outsider vibe from the heroine had a very McLeod's Daughters feel about it (albeit with less sheep and cattle shenanigans), and I liked the characters. As far as I was concerned, the pacing was sliiiiiiightly off and everything wrapped up a little TOO quickly in the end, but it was a solid read and I'm seriously considering checking out more of Karly Lane's books in the future.
I thought this would be ‘just’ a country romance, but it was so much more. Big Issues such as PTSD raised their ugly head, and made Linc Callaghan more vulnerable than his tough golden boy exterior. Cash is fighting her own demons too, from her traumatic family past. An interesting read.
Lincoln Callahan left his family farm 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐲𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐤 to join the Army. After three tours of duty, he is now living in Brisbane, the head of a company. Still, the horrors of war haunts him after all this time.
Arriving home for the first time in two years to attend his sister's celebrity wedding, his eyes fall on Cash Sullivan. And he's completely smitten. Cash is filling in for her best friend as the local beautician after a string of bad breakups. Cash also is troubled by her past- and it's as equally as horrible.
It's not only Linc who has the hots for Cash. His younger brother, Griffin does as well. But there wasn't any connection between Cash and Griff. For Cash, he's absolutely wrong for her.
Linc is bad for her as well. Cash knows that she absolutely can't fall for this troubled ex-serviceman. Yet, she does. Fast and hard.
However, is she able to let him go when both their time in the small town of 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 comes to an end?
𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝕎𝕣𝕠𝕟𝕘 ℂ𝕒𝕝𝕝𝕒𝕙𝕒𝕟 is the ultimate love triangle. You have two brothers going after the same girl. You know it isn't going to end up well, especially when the brothers are full of testosterone, built up jealously and struggling mentally. Karly Lane has REALLY emphasised with Linc's mental health issues.
Props to creating strong side characters of Lavinia and Hadley Callahan. These two know how to live, have fun and also know how to care about everyone they care about in this tale. As for Harmony Callahan- she's ice cold and I didn't care for her abrupt and condescending manner towards Cash.
It was also lovely to see Talitha Cummins in the story as a wedding guest! A local Brissy gal!!
The Wrong Callahan is the first book in Karly Lane's Callahans of Stringbark Creek series, and I've gotta say I'm already hooked.
Cash has never stayed in one place long. With no family to speak of, she drifts from city to city, job to job. She finds herself running her best friend's day spa in Rankins Springs. Griff Callahan, the man next door, is everything she doesn't want in a man, but wishes she did. His brother, Linc, former Commando, is everything she does want, but wishes she didn't.
The whole family is home for Christmas and the wedding of sister Hadley, and sparks are set to fly.
You know what this book was to me? It felt like snuggling up in a warm quilt on a cold winter's day (bonus paints for raining outside). It felt like a warm mug of hot chocolate. I guess what I mean by all that, is it felt like comfort. It felt like home.
The Callahan family felt like home. The bickering between siblings, the long held grudges, the teasing and inside jokes. Karly Lane has well and truly brought those feelings, that emotion, into the page.
I read most of the book in one sitting, and now regret that because it's over and I want more of the Callahans (how long until book 2 is out??).
This would have been the perfect Christmas holiday read (and I'm now kicking myself that I didn't read this whilst in Christmas holiday mode). Or, really, the perfect read for anytime.
Lincoln Callahan comes home to the family ranch Stringybark Creek a damaged guy. He has been in military and now works with 2 friends in a private security firm they started. His friends send him on a short time out as they see he has ptsd issues and want him to get help. He goes home for his little sister, Hadley's, wedding and to rest. He meets and falls for Cash Sullivan who is running a day spa for the owner, her friend who is off to UK with her husband. Linc's brother Griffin is a farmer and stayed home to run the farm with their parents while Linc was off in the military. Everyone treats Linc like a hero but he hates himself and feels like a fraud as so many of his comrades died over there. Griff has had his eye on Cash for some time but has not made a move. Linc tries to stay away from her but they are drawn to each other, she blames it on her taste for unsuitable guys but it is a lot more. This turns into a awkward triangle of lies and hiding the truth. Sister Hadley also has secrets, she has called her wedding off twice already. Their older sister has 2 teenagers and is married (it seems unhappily) to critical mostly absent husband but keeps it to herself. Really liked the book! Loved the characters and highly recommend the audio as it was really well done. This is all about family, healing and finding where you belong.
Set in the beautiful New South Wales Riverina, the Callahan family have worked this land for generations.
Griff's life is on the land, he's always loved being home but feels he is in a rut, is there more to life than the relentless pressures of work? He longs for a life more adventurous and fun.
Linc is the older brother who joined the Army and worked overseas witnessing much conflict but has developed post traumatic stress disorder. Linc has returned home for Christmas and his sisters' wedding on New Years Eve; he is well aware that his appearance reignites simmering animosity between the brothers.
Then the brothers are introduced to Cash, the beautiful young woman living next door. The brothers vie for her affection yet she has her own issues to work through and is scared of being hurt again. The three main characters create the perfect trifecta for drama filled romance.
Karly Lane has a great talent for writing Australian rural romance novels. The cover art is stunning, a beautiful young lady, a rural outlook and setting sun; an enticing start to a novel. I am very grateful to Beauty & Lace Book Club and Allen & Unwin Publishers for the opportunity to read this beautiful novel, thank you.

My review: Not a bad read. Bit repetitive in places and predictable. Easy read.
I am an avid Karly Lane fan and her new book "The Wrong Callahan" did not disappoint. I am so glad it is book 1 that is based on the Callahans of Stringybark Creek with the 2nd due out in May 2019 so we continue to read about the family we have grown to love.
I find Karly's books so easy to immerse yourself in, they engage you and you just want to keep reading until you know what is going to happen to her likeable characters.
Thank you Allen & Unwin and Beauty and Lace for the opportunity to read and review this book. Karly Lane once again you have written a novel I could not put down. This will go straight to the bookshelf beside my other Karly Lane novels.
Very early on and from the title of this book you know where this story is going and the with the connection between Cash and Linc, it had me rooting for them the whole way - their attraction and sexual chemistry could really be felt strongly throughout this story.
This has found family, the rural setting which I always enjoy from Karly’s books, there’s drama in there with Linc’s sister’s wedding which adds some fun and good humour and it also touches on loss of family and PTSD following being in the army.
I did feel for Griff, but it just wasn’t meant to be and you could clearly see that and well, his story is up next in Book 2 in this series - Mr. Right Now and I hope he finds his happy ever after.
Thank you Beauty and Lace for the opportunity to read and review The Wrong Callahan by Karly Lane.
I am a new fan of Karly Lane this only being my second book and it certainly did not disappoint.
I love the family dyanamic of this book in a small farming community. I myself have a very family orietated life.
The main characters Cash and Linc had me from the start and I love reading this book. Even staying up til 1am to read one night. I was unable to put this book down and enjoyed every minute all the emotions good and bad.
This book contains secrets, lies and love triangles between family and friends. Definitely worth the read. I look forward to book 2 in this series.
Oh my, such a sexy romantic novel to read.... the characters led a very sexy plot that sucked you right in. I wanted so much more of this book, and can’t wait to read the second book just so I know how the two characters follow on.
I couldn’t put this book down and read this novel in a day.
Karly lane your novels always leave me more than satisfied and I love all your story line. This is just another fantastic book you have written.
Thank you beauty and lace for giving me the wrong Callahan to review.
I really enjoyed this book as it was a smooth easy book to read as are most of Karly Lane's books are.
The character of Linc Callahan was really interesting as he had issues to deal with from when he was in the army, although he didn't realise this at the time.
This lead to him having problems with his brother, which came to a head when they were attracted to the same new girl in town!
A must read if you enjoy a good romance. Nexy book I am reading is book 2 in the series, Mr Right Now.
Such a lovely Aussie rural story! This was a lovely romance between Lincoln and Cash with interesting subplots and a family who are easy to fall in love with. I can't wait to read the rest of the Callahan books.
Cash is a strong, interesting woman who has never had a loving family, so being drawn into the Callahan family makes her feel very welcome. Lincoln is struggling with PTSD after his time in the army and is in denial that he has a problem, but he turns himself around by the end of the book.
I did enjoy this book. It was very easy to read. Typical Australian country romance but loved that they were towns mentioned that I knew and been to. Liked how she drew the characters. Bit spicy from almost the start which was good rather than leaving it all until the last page but I guess that's how romances are nowadays! I don't read a lot of them but found them to be quite relaxing lately and different than the romances years ago. Will read more of Karly Lane's books.
I rather enjoyed this audiobook that I picked up from Audible Plus. I liked the narration which I believe enhanced the story. I liked the family feel to the novel and the tussle that Linc had with PSTD from the Afghanistan war. This PTSD is in the background but eventually takes centre stage. I notice this is a series and it has two more books which I will be very happy to listen to at some point.
I love an outback romance, and this didn't disappoint. I loved the beginnings of relationships and family drama and was pleasantly surprised to find this is the first of 3 books. (I have already read the 2nd without knowing, so no biggie if read out of order). I have book 3 on order, will read it next. Quick read for me, I devoured it in 24 hours.
Omg what an amazing story. From cover to finish this book just kept you guessing. The characters Lincoln, Cash, Griffith had you intrigued to know the result till the end. I loved this book sooooo much I ordered the next two in the series before I finished it. Can't wait to read the next two. Am done Karly. I love all you books. 💜❤
I’d love to know what Griff’s issue was. And the sister who was moody, guess we’ll find the answers in the other books in the series?
Linc and Cash. Cash is apart from her family by choice. linc loves his family, but keeps them from knowing all that is going on in his life. He has some issues since he left the armed forces.
Another great novel by Karly. She truly knows how to capture her audience. The story felt real and Linc and Cash's struggles in life believable. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to the rest in this series
I am loving this Author. I have just stumbled upon this author. Loved the story from start to end. How she was starting over and he was trying to grips with his past that he hadn’t dealt with. It was just a warm romance that left me wanting more. Narration was awesome too.
