Beck Pavlov thought starting over in Cleveland, Ohio, would make him forget. The new city and new job at GDB Security were supposed to help him rebuild his life and put the past behind him.
Once an aspiring police officer in the Windy City, he watched his career come to a screeching halt when a simple response to a child hit by a car turned into a tragedy that he won’t ever forget.
Abbie Parker, a young, vivacious Channel 7 News reporter, enjoyed life to the fullest. She was the face people saw on television first thing in the morning. However, strange events are happening around her, and she doesn’t understand why.
When Dr. Parker, Abbie's father, decided to hire a bodyguard to protect his daughter, Beck learned that he and the pretty news reporter had more in common than he suspected. But he was hired to protect her, not to fix her personal life.

I didn't think this series could get better but with the Black Lives Matter's storyline, it did! Beck and Abbie's story was relatable because they both were hurt royally by their selfish significant others. I'm glad Abbie didn't judge Beck after he shared his tragic story while working as a cop in Chicago and boy did Beck help her get over Eddie!
This story will grab you and hold you till the very end!
Now I'll left wondering who's story will be next in the GDB series! Zane, Leo, Devonte, Bennett...who's story next!
I liked Beck and Abbie. I didn't really feel much chemistry between the two, but I liked how honest they were about their feelings for each other. Slow read. I'm not interested in reading any more of this series.
I was looking forward to the book as I liked the series but this one was a miss for me. First of all there were quite a few editing issues. The book was also quite repetitive without much character development. Yes Eddie did her wrong but let’s face it she was burying her head in the sand because who has a boyfriend that she hasn’t seen for months and lives in the same city? Same thing about his ex girlfriend. It’s been almost a year so ancient history why keep bringing in up? The book felt disjointed. We didn’t get the GBD experience where the company is very family oriented with people coming together. Here he could almost work for anybody else given the few interactions. Even, the final sting was just with Zane instead of a whole team. Which is even more bizarre considering someone had died and they had been attempts or their lives. There was no police enquiry that we were privy to which is just odd. Same thing, we are to believe that a clever reporter would be victimized but wouldn’t try to dig more to find out what is going on? Even Stella asked more questions. The whole Clinton thing and Trina came out of nowhere. The Chicago party was ridiculous. So many mixed signals. He introduced her as his charge whilst his sisters called her the girlfriend. Why did he invite her? If he wasn’t sure he could have said friend. Much nicer than she’s just a job. There was also a lot of confusion around how he felt about staying on as a bodyguard, wanting to be a cop again etc. Him not telling her he applied, then testing her reaction to a position that he turned down anyway made no sense. The sudden promotion was like what? I didn’t like the suggestion that if he he was a bodyguard for another woman she’ll have issues with it. Is she suggesting that he’ll sleep with every woman he protects? The ending was too cliché for my liking. Of course there is a baby and a marriage when they have just moved together and Beck still hasn’t met her mother. In summary the book was a miss for me because I felt that so much could have been made of this story. For instance it’s inconceivable to me that she’s a minor celebrity in the news industry but no one is digging into Beck’s past which could probably cause some controversy?
Really enjoying the GBD Security series and I really enjoyed Beck. I think the story of two people who are getting over broken hearts and reluctantly finding comfort and then love with each other are ingredients to a nice, classic romance book. This one has a few twists and turns to add excitement and of course, excellently written love scenes. The challenges of this being an interracial relationship come up a lot in this book, whereas, in the other previous two, it really didn't. Race differences played a role in their story, but it wasn't over the top stuff and I liked that. In all, definitely worth a read!
I liked this book. BECK & ABBIE is a love story of two people that were both heartbroken who are not quite looking for love, but are very attracted to each other. They were little cautious on their desire to pursue a relationship with each other. The author showed that Its understandable to make sure the feelings are genuine and not those of being a rebound. I loved the way the relationship gradually blossomed into something real. Good read.
This was a nice read. I'm glad that beck and abbie was able to work out and not let the fact that they came from two different backgrounds get in the way of them finding true love .I still don't know what Eddie problem was ,he didn't want abbie when he had her but was acting like a scorned loved and a creep after she found someone else.I was surprised that Dr.Parker was cheating on Trina with his ex wife .I really didn't see that coming .This was another great read in this series and I would recommend it very highly.I can't wait to see what not for GBD security
This book flows well into a plot filled with betrayal, intrigue, suspense, finding and protecting an unexpected love. Characters that are diverse, likable, (some not), feisty and independent are all the elements that has this storyline holding your attention. I enjoyed Beck and Abbie's story.
Ok what s the next one hope it' zains story. X-mob should be very interesting. I did like this one just wish the news reporter had more backbone when it came to her x.
Beck came to Cleveland in hopes of starting a new life after leaving Chicago. After Eddie crushed Abbie's heart, their attraction grew stronger. I love their coupling. I can only hope Zane story is just as good.
Beck and Aggie found true love where they least expected it. A few twists and turns going on, but mostly a developing love story . Great job bringing opposites together and finding to make a beautiful future.
I absolutely enjoyed reading the story of Beck and Abbie. This is such a good read. I would recommend this book to everyone who enjoys a good love affair with a bit of suspense. Great job Toye I enjoy reading your stories. Thank you.
Okay, but not her best work. Much of the story seems under developed and a bit rushed. Some of the pages repeated the same lines, Main characters each indicated that they were not comparing previous love interest but that eas all thet did. waiting for better.
Annie and Beck turned out to be a cute couple, perfect for each other. Not perfect for their ex's. They had to learn to love the one your with. Action and suspense is part of the GBD stories.
This book is probably my favorite of the bunch. Beck is new to GBD and I instantly loved him. Abbie also quickly became my favorite heroine of the series. Everything about this book was on point. I loved it.
The chemistry between Beck and Addie was very strong and they deserved to be happy. Trina is just crazy and was determined not to lose the privilege life she had. I am glad Dr Parker was able to see what was important.
The suspense in this book keeps me going. I had to find out who was doing what so I read the book in two hours. This series was really good. This book was recommended by UniqueWord, LLC
Excellent read, I enjoyed the characters and storyline. Beck and Abbie both had other love interests. However, both dealt with heartbreak and disappointment. They comforted each other and found romance. I recommend this book.
