Led by fallen Imperial Officer BEILERT VALANCE, this ragtag group of assassins will stop at nothing to kill the biggest bounty of their lives.
Thompson equals Lee?! ... NO! ... Maybe! And probably more, even! ... How? For his Gritty style! Excellent realistic conception of story! Extraordinary direction of plotting! The EYE-POP illustrations with crisp prose guides a reader into a fresh dimension -- in this case -- of the Star Wars saga. At least this thought is right about Thompson: His talents equal the other two noted writers (directors of graphic novels) of the Darth Vader adventures. Under his guidance , Thompson creates an horrifying environment in which plotting of Target Vader unfolds! ... Interesting of note as an aside: The protagonist visual visage resembles that of a junior Senator who was once a hedge-fund owner\manager. Yet the protagonist this comic book demonstrates greater intelligence -- not to suggest anonymous Senator lacks smarts! Nonetheless, as all extraordinary comic book stories: Target Vader entertains as it evokes provocative thought. Vader as a target for assassination extends the Darth Vader saga into profound possibilities of perpetual plotting. This comic book series invites intelligent readers of comic books, to pay attention -- just as Lee did in his prime! Rock on 🔥
This was a really fun Star Wars comic book series.
A team of Bounty Hunters get contracted to take on the big man himself, Lord Vader. The fundraiser for this activity is a mysterious organization known as the "Hidden Hand" and there's a lot of great action, beautiful artwork, good writing, and with fun characters.
I like the art and the fact that we get more Valance. He seems to be somewhat of a Han Solo type here. But so far, nothing feels very inventive about the premise. It seems likely that most of the bounty hunters on the team are there just to be killed off. And of course, Vader won't be killed. Plus, there's no indication of when in the Rebellion era this takes place.
I would give this two more stars but this is just issue one my second gripe is it's only about 30 pages long. I will keep an open mind cause it does look good, hopefully it doesn't become a story of mindless dribble I am after all on a budget.
