Amelia has never been lucky in love, flitting from one boyfriend to the next she finds she attracts the worst of the opposite sex. But upon Marcus moving in, she hopes that he is the one.

Amelia finds Marcus slightly distant, making her unsure of his feelings for her or any attraction, but in time love certainly does bloom ** wink *
Marcus soon realizes that Amelia is not truly whom he thought she was, she has a destiny that Heaven above has kept a watchful eye over. A past that comes back to haunt them both – human-angel-demon Amelia is also not of this world.

Amelia finds herself a pawn between Heaven and Hell, Hell wants to save her, Heaven wants her dead!!!!
Marcus and his friends battle to save Amelia, but in return Amelia must save him to fall from Grace.
Amelia’s destiny comes forth, and Marcus must make the a choice,
My thoughts!
Felicity Heaton is certainly the *Queen of Hearts *, always able to portray her characters with such depth, and emotions that leaves the reader in Awe and possible in love once again!!!
Her Guardian Angel is book 4 in the Angel series and can be read stand alone. Felicity has created enough background leaving the reader intrigued and eager to delve into the other angel books if they have not read them.
Felicity has created a strong and domineering woman who is not afraid to take charge in this book. Something slightly different then in the previous books I have read of hers.
Sexy characters that you will swoon after *sigh * – Marcus innocent, and sexy as hell, A virgin ** snickers ** and yet he gives off that radiance of pure spunk and hotness!!We eagerly await for the pair to get it on !!! ** raises eyebrows and licks lips ** lol..
Amelia shows Marcus a few things, a woman who knows what she wants – Marcus certainly does not complain ** wink **
A storyline that will catch you hook, line and sinker, it will reel you along right till the very end. It will keep your interest riveted to the pages, have you holding your breathe in sheer anticipation and even sniffing throughout! Dialogue is certainly crisp, and sharp, intriguing storyline like no other, a love that will rumble Heaven and Earth... ** swoon ** Like I said Felicity stirs all the emotions in her stories, displays them well, describes them poetically and the reader can envisage as though they are too in this world with the characters.
Great action scenes, filled with kick arse characters, sensual love that will of course, have your heart fluttering, and love that will stand both Heaven n Hells wraith.
Beach scenes I’m sure you will enjoy ** wink ** and characters put forth from previous books, I’m sure you will love. Romance equals out evenly amongst the rest of the storyline and a cover that is scorching!! I’m a cover love kinda girl and Felicity shows great love in her covers that too is put forth in her stories.
I will be reading the previous books now, after reading about Appolyn ** oh my goodness of men ** and the others I want to find out their stories. As I said this can be read stand alone but be prepared to get out that card to buy the rest after reading this one.
A must read paranormal romance, filled with oodles of luscious goodies, sexy kick arse angels, action, suspense and worlds that cause the ground to rumble..
Heaven n Earth had no idea when they dealt with Amelia and Marcus’s true love <3 blossomed!! What wouldn’t you do for the one you love!! I’m a romantic at heart and this is perfect for all the romantics out there.
Felicity is certainly the *Queen of Hearts* an author who has always captured the best and worst of her characters giving them character definition and emotions that even the toughest hard arse can feel !!!
I have no negative comments to make !! I loved it and will certainly keep reading Felicty Heatons books.
Looking for a smokin' hot angel book? Look no further!
Her Guardian Angel is book four in the series, but the great thing about this series is that the books can be read as stand alone and in any order. This is the first book I have read of Felicity's and let me tell you, it will not be the last!
I tore through this over four hundred page book in about six hours, staying up until after midnight to finish it! I layed in bed all day, refusing to put it down unless it was absolutely necessary. I loved it!
I've been reading a lot of young adult books lately, and while I love them, they are often short of the hot and swoon worthy moments that I want. I wanted a book that I would fall in love with. This book gave me exactly what I had been craving and more. Felicity has created a brilliant original story, that you can tell took time and research. The way she describes Heaven and Hell is incredible. I loved the main ones as well as the minor ones. Their emotions were palpabe and I felt that I could relate to some of them. Marcus, the tortured Guardian that doesn't like being away from Heaven and Amelia the strong, sassy human are the perfect match.
The book is filled with mystery, action, romance, and plenty of twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end of the novel. I love how the characters travel. I find it makes a book more interesting when they aren't in the same place the entire time. The dialog is great, the descriptions are fabulous, and the cover is sexy! What more could you want?
This is one book that I would gladly buy the paperback version of just so I could put it on my bookshelf. *adds to favorites*
DNF - Got 50% through this book & that was a struggle for me. I tried. I really did. I’m a huge fan of this genre. Kept hoping the characters & the almost insta love would start making since. Needless to say, I’m not a fan of the two main characters at all & just could never connect to them or feel their “LOVE” connection. The last 2 days I’ve actually been dreading reading! Life is way too short for all that. So I say “good bye” to this book here & I’m going to now search for something better.
Review: This book starts off with Marcus he is sent down to earth to watch over Amelia. He doesn't know why he has to watch over her only that it is his destiny and he has to do it. He moves in next to Amelia and has to come to her rescue when an old boyfriend is threatening her. Marcus is sent to Heaven expecting punishment for hitting the human male but is sent back to earth with the plan of gaining Amelia's trust. Amelia all ways un lucky in love starts to fall for Marcus and starts to feel her guard going down. both start to feel something for each other and Marcus wants to spend the rest of his life with Amelia But when she is attacked it leaves Marcus wondering what his boss has been keeping from him. its a battle between heaven and hell over the survivle of Amelia and the love they share. Marcus and his friends have to fight to save amelia but in the end it all comes down to marcus. will he choose heaven the only thing he has known or will he choose the love he has for Amelia.
Overall view: Hmmm where to start. Ok ill start with how I loved this book. It was filled with action right from the start with the fight with the old bf. I love reading Felicitys work because she gives you a conection with her characters and you feel like your right there with them. Felicity is all ways able to come up with some great characters and she did it again with Marcus *Hubba Hubba* im going to have to say that this Angel takes over the lead as my favourite Angel EVER .lol. I could so picture him lieing naked on his bed *mmmmm yummy*. I all so loved this book because it was an emotional one, I love a book that is so good in words that you all most feel like crying.By the end of the book it has you crying out for Marcus to win the girl *sigh*. I really recomend that you guys give this book a try Because i promise you, you wont be able to put it down. it is full of everything from action to romance and there is some suspence in there as well. I so cant wait to see where Felicity goes with this series because I have a gut feeling it is going to keep going far because Felicity has the nack at giving us what we want. So hats off to you Felicity another great read. COME ON OVER TO MY BLOG AND SEE WHAT EXTRA I GAVE MARCUS *WINK*
Her Guardian Angel is the fourth and, thankfully, final book in an anthology of Felicity Heaton's work. None of them were ever quite bad enough to DNF but if I tell you that I've deleted the various other freebies of hers that were floating around my virtual library, that should give you the idea.
They are all basically the same book. Within the first day or two, our brooding, sex-starved, supernatural hottie falls all in with our everywoman heroine. Some obstacles, usually in the form of magical war. Some honestly underwhelming sex. And then they're together forever, obviously.
The amount of side eye I give this shit is insane. What happened to characterisation? Speaking like actual people? Slow-burn? Or even just normal-speed burn? Also, will you stop going on about how pure and perfect and wonderful this random woman is?
The hero in this book is an angel. He has, a few reincarnations not withstanding, basically been around since the dawn of time. And yet, he is still a virgin. Fine. Great. A millennia-old virgin. Just what every woman needs. Anyway, as far as I recall, they had had one sexual experience during a shared dream - i.e. not even in real life, when the heroine started raving about "the voraciousness of his sexual appetite." Seriously, babe??? You need to look voracious up in the dictionary. I laughed so hard my cat was offended and left the room.
Perhaps, Ms Heaton, you might consider moving into comedy? 137 versions of what I can only imagine is the same story is more than enough for one genre.
I'm happy to report that Felicity E. Heaton has delivered yet another fantastic paranormal romance read. Her consistent writing, vivid descriptions and toe curling romp scenes make her out to be one of my most favorite authors in this genre. Pair all of those remarkable factors with solid story telling and her latest book, Her Guardian Angel, packs on hell of a punch! Oddly enough, neither of the two main characters earned a spot in that special place in my heart this time around. That's not too say that I didn't enjoy them but I absolutely adored one of the sidekicks! I hope that he merits his own book sometime in the near future. Stay tuned for some gushing action later on in my review!
There wasn't an abundance of steam in this read which surprised me because I've come to expect it from Heaton's books. However, sometimes quality is more important than quantity and that couldn't have been more true in this instance. I counted a total of two full-out sessions in Her Guardian Angel (yeah I counted, judge away!) and they were towards the beginning of the book. One of them occurs in a dreamlike state and it was absolutely phenomenal! The laws of physics are more malleable in this alternate reality and Felicity definitely uses that fact to her advantage! There's the promise of sex in the air for the bulk of this novel but a lot of it is centered around anticipation instead of the act itself. I found the plotline of this book to be a lot more concrete than my previous experiences with her writing. Heaton had the romance aspect down pat pretty much from the get-go but now her story weaving skills are catching up and boy what a treat that is!
The plot line is engaging, imaginative and complex. Normally the story seems to be somewhat of a side thought in the majority paranormal romances but that's not the case here. Felicity's world of angels and demons is vast and intricate. The chain of events that unfurls in Her Guardian Angel is unpredictable and captivating. I have a hard time swallowing most stories that revolve around angels due to either their preachiness or unrealistic angelic portrayals but this one drew me in hook, line and sinker.
Amelia and Marcus are pretty standard order as far as protagonists go. There wasn't anything that really made them stand out in my opinion. They're still solid characters and I enjoyed learning more about them but there wasn't really a wow factor to them. Apollyon on the other hand was pure awesomeness. He's the original angel of death who's since quit his post because he found true love. Although, his duty to Heaven will never really truly be over. They can still call on him at any time and he can not say no. I'm guessing that this guy is pretty much invincible. Apollyon is one of those rare beings who can travel to any realm and who's power knows next to no limit. After living such an existence for millenia he's gotten pretty cocky over the years. I suppose that I would be too! I don't want to get into it too much, but there was just something about him that flat out did it for me. He's the ultimate bad boy who just so happens to be an angel. Quite the combination if you ask me!
I haven't read any of the other books in the Her Angel series but if they're anything like this one I fully intend on tackling them sooner rather than later. Time to do a bit of research and find out if Apollyon has his own novel me thinks! Her Guardian Angel is definitely a crowd pleaser and trust me, once you've read a couple of Felicity Heaton's books she'll have you eating out of the palm of her hand!
Love is a power within itself and it is amazing how it can change one’s life around with a force no one can go up against. The story started out a little slow for me in the first two chapters but then WAM! The story exploded with excitement as it took off and I couldn’t read it fast enough. The story between Marcus (Guardian Angel) and Amelia (human/New Angel/Demon species) was very empowering and their chemistry between each other was Hot.
The blurb gives the reader a good idea of what the story is about but sometimes when we read books we sort of analyze things the author writes about and find it amazing how they add more insight about the angel’s species or the demon species. For instance, in the Angelic world there are no female angels and I love the fact that Felicity added one to their world, not just a female with the same powers as regular angels but one who yields powers from both realms “angelic and demonic”. By doing that she just made her character one kick azz bitch – totally loved it with all the kick azz fights/wars between the demons and angels.
Also I love how Felicity showed the hierarchy within the Angelic World up in heaven having problems within their ranks and showed that even in heaven nothing is perfect and how they are just as deceitful as the demon species.
It was great to be refreshed and read about the other characters from the previous books in this book, I love how they are forever protective over their mates and how their bond to stand up for each of their brother in arms that they have grown close to. I look forward to reading more about these angels and this new Female Angel/Demon Species in this series.
Angels, demons, pawns, an eternal game between Heaven and Hell and a reluctant romance are featured in this fourth book in Heaton's Her Angel Series. It has a great plot and steamy chemistry between the main characters.
Marcus, Amelia's guardian angel, is shocked when she touches his hand — heat races up his arm and his heart starts to race. She looks into his eyes and his pain is instantly melted. He is astounded by his reaction to her now that he is on the mortal plane. This is his first mission to physically guard a human and he had been warned about women, how dangerous they can be. He doesn't want to be attracted to her, he just wants this mission to be over so he can return to Heaven.
Amelia thinks Marcus is smexy ... smart and sexy. She is so drawn to him but keeps getting mixed signals from him.
When they make love in the quasi-dream world, it is all she thought it might be. Later in realty, she can't believe it, it is actually much better. So much passion from her once cold angel.
Amelia is taken away from Marcus and he is more than furious. He takes his wrath out on the city in the form of a nasty thunderstorm before his friends are able to calm him and they take a trip to Hell to see what the demons know about the abduction and Amelia's possible future.
Heaven isn't all good and Hell isn't all bad in their game. The lengths each will go to with their pawns is surprising.
This is a stand alone book in the series, feel free to read out of order. I enjoyed this story very much with its creative story line. Fans of the paranormal romance and angel genres should enjoy it as well.
Hello, Marcus! Yes, Felicity Heaton has done it again. She's given us a smokin' hot angel who has passion to burn and the lady friend who helps ignite him. As an added plus, we get to meet up with the couples from the previous books and see how life's been treating them. I love that. I love being able to peek in on previous main characters to see how things have turned out.
I liked that Marcus was just biding his time on Earth, guarding who he was sent to guard until he could request a transfer. He didn't love the mortal world, he did his job but he never really got involved in the loves of the mortals he was watching over. As he starts to fall for Amelia and see her as a woman instead of a mission, he begins to change. As for Amelia, I wasn't sure what to think of her at first. Her track record with men sucks and it seemed like as soon as he falls on her radar she's gunning for him. Don't get me wrong, it worked but it seemed a little mercenary at first. Still, she grew on me and I ended up feeling for her and what she was put through.
I feel like this book has changed the entire dynamic of the universe Felicity Heaton has created. Something big is introduced and if the series continues I can see it having huge impact on the overall battle between heaven and hell.
The battles are big, the love is even bigger and the betrayals our heroes face is game-changing. Just the way I like my romances.
This one is a bit longer than I remember the others being. The beginning you have to sort of muddle through. The characters are sort of meh to start off with but then the action starts. This book is a lot more than what the description claims, it turns out to be a pretty epic battle for love. There is a lot going on and our characters are left in the dark about most of it. Honestly, it is all a bit convoluted for me but I kept going. We see them grow together and some good sexy scenes, then BAM there is significant character change and growth. It took a bit for it to shake out but then the real action started and answers were found. I really liked how the author weaved the story, and the ending was pretty cool.
SPOILERS: The beginning wasn't great. We have a whiny angel and a human who isn't dazzling. I get why now, why spend so much time when she is going to evolve into so much more. This book focused a lot of the rebirth factor and how once an angel dies they are reborn without their memories. The H is given a mission guarding the female he has watched over her entire life. All the past couples are brought in once he saves her from some Hell's angels. I never read the first book, so I don't know much about the retired angel of death but once he see's the h he is forced to kill her. The H protects her, giving up his life, but right before he is destroyed she sacrifices herself. They heal up the H and he grieves a few minutes until an awesome scene where she transforms into an Angel. Except there are no female angels, so everyone is all sorts of confused. Including her because she doesn't remember her mortal life. The hero grieves because he just fell in love for the first time he can remember and this new being isn't her....yet. He tells her he wished he would have just died so when the angels come to take her, she goes freely to save them from fighting. She starts to remember her mortal life and the H and once in Heaven she starts to remember other pasts lives, once filled with blood. The H and company go to hell and are finally given some convoluted answers. She is the first and only female angel, born out both God and the devil themselves. She brought some bad ju ju and less order back when life first started. She is much stronger than normal angels and her blood is even more powerful. It is a seal. If Heaven kills her then they seal hell and if Hell kills her they seal heaven, but it is much more of a ritual sacrifice then just that. I don't really understand why Heaven wants the H to kill her, but apparently he has THREE times in the past. Each time he dies with her and they do it all over again. And that weird curse on his wings that was a bit confusing was placed on him because the angels heard he wanted to change rolls and become a fighter. If he couldn't fly then he couldn't fight, when it started to lift the curse still didn't let him fly if it was to help deter the mission of the h's sacrifice. See, convoluted, but still fascinating and tragic. Angel of death and H go to heaven during an all out war and bust in to get her. As soon as he steps into the ritual he is blasted with power ordering him to kill her, the same stuff that happens to the angel of death. He fights but can't win, not until she tells him she loves him. That unlocks some of his power, the power he doesn't know is within him.. yet. I didn't understand why she was fighting like a human to defend herself. He gets some control and helps her flee but others try to stop them. FINALLY she gets pissed because the man/angel she loves is being screwed by the angels he depended on. Her power comes out and it is awesome. They get out and he renounces heaven and becomes a fallen angel, literally because their still in the sky, but it is the only thing he can think of to stop the demand to kill her. She gets them back to their friends. She learns a bit more about her powers. He knows she is a deity within herself, so he says she can be his master, not heaven or hell. So they form a contact of the heart, he gets new armor, blades, and wings like hers 50 percent beautiful feathers and 50 percent leathery demon wings. Somehow he finally unlocks all of his power now that he isn't under heavens rules, she says he can believe in himself now. The angel of death guy goes to heaven and basically says if you kill her I will let the devil out of his cage (that's part of his destiny). The H decides to go and make his own threats. He goes in the same way they send demons to the detention center to be questioned. He lets out a horde of captive demons and finds the angel of death and angels, including his old master. He gets so pissed that his power flares to the point where everyone is on their knees writhing in pain, including his friend AND old master. He finally realizes he is more powerful than all of them, and has his old master shaking. Really it was AWESOME!! He tells them they can draw lines in the sand, OR they can fight. But his new master can make many more like him and have her own army. In the end they are just happy to be together, even knowing that both sides will never leave them be forever. I am going to read some more of this series just to see how they fair in the future. I think they need a novela just because they are so epic. It did take a while for him to open up to her. It's almost like their past lives affected them in different ways. We don't know much about it, if they were in love the other times but it makes a bit of since, even though the author never did tie it all together. She kept picking horrible guys because her soul was already connected to someone else? and he was cold and not really living because he hadn't unlocked that part of himself yet. IDK either way I am usually disappointed by books that didn't reach their potential but I think this one really did.
I was really hoping to like this book as much as some of the other readers who have reviewed it. The book's premise was something I knew I would be interested in reading. My problems started halfway through. The storyline didn't meet my expectations and I got irritated with the development or lack of development of the two main characters. The author repeatedly went on and on for pages about the couples' love for each other without going forward in the story. The ending was unsatisfactory for me as I wanted a more defined explanation of what the future may hold for the couple and their friends.
I won't say I wasted time reading it - just disappointed that the potential wasn't fulfilled.
Sooooo boring. DNF at 31%. There’s nothing “wrong” with the story, but its characters and the writing are just not for me. The heroine acts like a timid 20 year old when she’s actually 30, and the hero has almost no experience in the mortal world and keeps obsessing over what would make him seem more “manly” to her, while constantly reminding himself that she’s just a mission, and he can’t wait to get off guardian duty and leave her behind. Make up your mind!! Are you obsessing over impressing her or is she trivial and you can't wait to put her behind you?? Also, the author writes 3 pages of internal thoughts for every 1–2 sentences of dialog. It’s. So. Slow. I give up.
I highly recommend reading this book in a seat that you can buckle yourself into while having an entire day on your hands. Once you pick up Her Guardian Angel you can’t put it down. The anticipation of what will happen next will keep the pages turning as fast as you can read them. Heaton does an amazing job of telling a story that is filled with interwoven destinies, curses, deception and a history that some will fight all to see that it is never repeated again. This book is packed with awesomeness. Readers are giving an incredible love story, heaps of action and fighting and a suspenseful story that you are crazy if you don’t run out buy it and read it.
Marcus is a guardian. His current assignment is to keep an eye out on the girl next door. His superiors are very elusive in the details of his actual assignment. Marcus does not question this too much in the beginning. He is extremely loyal to his master. He is however ready for the assignment to be complete. In fact he is looking forward to being able to ask for a new role all together. One of the things that make Marcus so interestingly different is that he has been cursed. He was confined to Heaven for five hundred years due to the fact that he could not release his wings. During this time he became content to watch from afar. Heaven is his happy place. He is quite happy to no have to mingle among the humans.
Amelia is thankful when her neighbor comes to the rescue one night to remove one of her violent ex-lovers. She has a whole sting of crappy ex-lovers. Amelia has always had bad luck with men. The new neighbor is very handsome, kind and definitely chivalrous. She can’t help but wonder if perhaps Mr. Right moved in next door. I enjoyed Amelia’s pursuit of the reluctant Marcus. Marcus is not used to being around humans and he comes off as very distant with Amelia in the beginning. Marcus’s lack of human interaction and his development of feelings for Amelia make for one sweet romance. His character really had to come to terms with what exactly was going on with his feelings, feeling that are caused by Amelia.
Marcus is Amelia’s guardian angel. He is supposed to protect Amelia. Due to the non-answers his superiors continually give him he has no clue what he is protecting her from. After Amelia is attacked by a Hell’s Angel and his cursed wings fail to get them to safety he decides to go see another angel for some assistance in obtaining knowledge about these demons. Little does Marcus know but this is all some elaborate game where higher officials are moving their pawns to where they see it being most beneficial to them and damn whoever gets in the way. Nothing is as it seems with this book. The suspense of how can Marcus and Amelia possibly have a happy ever after with the odds they face is heartbreaking. Keep the tissues handy. This is one touching emotional roller coaster.
Her Guardian Angel can be read as a stand-alone. I don’t recommend it though. The couples from the first three books in the series have LARGE roles in this one. Events that occurred in the first three books are omitted and not relevant. The first three books in the series are very good and the stories as to how the couples got to where there are in Guardian make them worth the read. But, if you are just dying to read this book and not the others it is completely possible and you won’t be confused at all.
I’m hoping that Heaton continues this series. I’m not going to give any spoilers, but the ending was huge. The potential for major changes in this world are evident. I am very eager to see where these changes could go. This is certainly a series that I will continue reading. I love where it started. I love the characters that I have been introduced to. I love the HEA that Amelia and Marcus got. I can’t wait to get my hands on another one of these sexy angels books.
This was my first Felicity Heaton book. It is book # 4 in Her Angel series. With that being said, I had no problems with following the story and I did not feel like I was out of the loop or trying to play "catch up" because I hadn't read the other books in the series.
Now for my review :) I LOVE this book!!!! Marcus is an angel who lives for his mission. His mission happens to be Amelia She needs his protection. He has been watching over her from heaven for her entire 30 years of life. Then, he is sent to Earth to watch over her more closely.
Amelia is a woman who has had very bad luck when it comes to choosing men. She has been in and out of one bad relationship after another. Then she meets Marcus and she finds herself instantly drawn to him. It's not long before all hell breaks loose!! The romance is HOT! The action will keep your fingers blazing through the pages! I found myself on a emotional rollercoaster ride and I didn't want it to end!! ;)
I love the character build up. I think it was important for Ms. Heaton to work up the relationship the way she did from the beginning. I felt like I could feel their emotions and love and all the turmoil within myself. I loved the world(s) that were described in vivid detail. I could easily picture how and where all the action took place. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes smoking hot guardian angels, a kick ass heroine, a storyline that keeps you gripping your book until the very end and for those who know that love will rise up and conquer all who try to see it come to an end! ♥
Marcus has been Amelia's guardian angel since she was a child. He has been waiting for his nearly 30 year assignment to finally come to an end. When his superiors tell him needs to get closer to Amelia and gain her trust, he doesn't understand why. Amelia has always found her sexy next door neighbor attractive, if a bit elusive. Since she has never been lucky in the relationship department, she is caught off guard when Marcus appears to take an interest in her. Their relationship starts off innocent and sweet, but soon they are unable to stay away from one another. All this has Marcus wondering if he can truly have a future with a mortal woman. When Amelia is attacked by demons, Marcus needs to find out why she's being targeted. When one of Hell's angels tells him that Amelia is going to die, and that he will be present during her death, Marcus is intent in finding out what his superiors are keeping from him. This book was a superbly written emotional roller coaster ride that had love, loss, death and rebirth - not to mention some seriously intense angel fight scenes. While I enjoyed the series as a whole, this was the was the BEST book in the series. I highly recommend it.
I wanted to like this book. I read it to the end, but it was a struggle. I liked the overall concept of a guardian angel and a human getting together (I have read some other books like this, and even have written about half a book of my own), but this book didn't meet my expectations. It really wasn't much of a romance. The two main characters barely knew each other when they were finally thrown together after his watching her from afar since she was born. He stated he still didn't know her even though he watched her as he didn't know her inner thoughts and feelings. He never talked to her one on one, so he was glad of the opportunity to get to know her. His revealing himself as an angel came WAY too soon in the story. It would have been better had they gotten to know each other, dated, then have him later reveal he's an angel. Most of the story was them on the run from demons or other Angels. Any "romance" was them having sex, which went on forever. I skipped over those many many pages. I didn't like the fact this author made Heaven out to be just as manipulative, corrupt, and evil as Hell. That went way against my Catholic upbringing. I don't "practice" anymore, but I still have some basic beliefs. Keep Heaven good and Hell bad. Didn't like that concept at all. I wish I could give half stars. It was well written, so I would give it 2.5 stars. A 3 star to me is I enjoyed the story and I really can't say I did on this one though I wanted to.
Marcus and Amelia, the two main characters in Her Guardian Angel, are arguably my favourite to-date in Felicity Heaton's amazing series. The tension between the two characters is almost palpable. Their relationship, in addition to their individual character development, is beautifully crafted and evolves with such an amazing depth and emotion that it's impossible not to get caught up in Marcus and Amelia's journey together.
Considering that Her Guardian Angel is the fourth installment in 'Her Angel Romance Series', I am so relieved that Felicity was able to bring originality to her storyline and the characters that she has created. A moving and smouldering read.
I gave this 3 stars because I just did not like the characters of Marcus and Amelia, they were just too sanctimonious. And I hate doing that because I like the world of angels and demons the author created and really enjoyed the other books in this series. I just could not get past the holier than thou attitude of both characters and especially Amelia wanting to interfere in everyone's life.
Man... Loved this book! It was the last half that won me over... totally sucked me in and took me by surprise! Felicity Heaton never seems to disappoint me... and, I sure hope my guardian angel looks like this guy! Seriously hot...
I have always enjoyed reading this authors books, finding myself totally captivated by the amazingly colourful characters she creates as we travel through the fascinating adventure she has created. This fast-paced complex storyline pulls you into everything they experience as Marcus and Amelia try to fight against the games they are caught up in. as heaven and hell ensures the designs they have manipulated finally come to pass. As different as chalk and cheese, these two unusual characters realise that their attraction to each other seems to be beyond what mortals usually experience, so why were they being controlled by the minions who ruled all angels and spiritual beings. Marcus and Amelia are a major plan in what occurs between heaven and hell, using their lives and their outcomes to Achieve the outcomes that have been designed for them giving heaven and hell the chance to hold the major power. Never allowing Marcus or Amelia to know who and what they are Both Marcus and Amelia are unblemished souls trying to understand their attraction to each other and the depth of what they experience, as their destiny unravels it’s impossible not to suffer with them or understand why they are in this situation. I honestly found the way Ms Heaton presented what they go through absolutely brilliant it’s impossible not to go through their challenges with them. Full of magical powers and strong supernatural enemies and allies, while trying to understand their own feelings and understanding of why they were in this position. They had to face amazing powers while learning to battle against the darkest odds and still come out balanced caring souls of their world knowing that their lives were bound together throughout eternity and hope they would always be powerful enough to battle the designs that had been planned before they even existed. I actually was doubtful I would enjoy the storyline because it’s based on spiritual beliefs of Christianity, but Ms Heaton has taken what is written in certain scripts and created something that can be enjoyed with its detailed script and personal involvement of emotional actions taken by these fascinating characters. If you enjoy paranormal with a touch of reality, you will love this Especially if you allow yourself to experience everything they go through.
Marcus has watched Amelia from heaven for many years, and a month ago his superiors told him he needed to watch her from the mortal realm. Why? And when they refuse to answers he becomes suspicious, but he’s ever the loyal soldier of heaven, and does his duty. Moving in next door seems like the best solution. But he’s Unprepared for the foreign feelings that surround him where Amelia is concerned, he wants to finish this mission and then request a transfer to the warrior class of angels. Amelia has just gotten out of a bad relationship, the last thing she needs is to fall for another man. But when her gorgeous neighbour comes to her rescue, Amelia rethinks her opinion, surely she can’t get it wrong again?! Spending time together, Amelia gets the feeling Marcus isn’t really comfortable here. And he always seems to be on the lookout. But for what? Together they face both heaven and hell in a battle for Amelia, but why? Is there more to her than meets the eye? They are then in for a fight her their lives!!! I have to admit I loved this book, not my favourite of the series, but it sets the scene for the coming books. There is a series before this one (Her Angel: Bound Warriors) and I’ve read the first one. You get background on the other characters in this series, but I don’t think it detracts In anyway, but now I’ve read this book, I need to go and find the other angels in the previous series! Fast paced, tear jerking, time slips away from you, and I found myself lost in this book. Great descriptions, amazing fight scenes, and a few scorching hot scenes thrown in for good measure. People aren’t who they are suppose to be, demons popping up, and both heaven and hell are fighting over Amelia! What is so special about her? You also get the feeling that there are quiet a few secrets. The higher echelons of angels are really sneaky!
This book appears to have a great storyline - but it's so damn wordy!
Basics: Sometime about 530y ago, Marcus, Guardian Angel, had gone to earth, drunk a whole barrel of beer and passed out. Like many modern drunks, he woke up with a tattoo - but this one holds a curse that interferes with his wings. Shortly after he is assigned to watch over baby Amelia (now 31yo), his wings start making an appearance again. Lately, this clueless and virginal Angel has realised he's falling in love with her and tried to get reassigned. Instead, upper management send him to earth to protect her in person, and order him to seduce her. Toss in a few demons, a prophesy that upper management refuses to divulge, and a fallen angel/ half demoness couple, and we have a potentially excellent tale.
I appreciate the time taken to properly deflower Marcus.
Downside. It's mostly ho-hum and so wordy. There is one scene, where Marcus is still clueless, and Amelia has dragged him to a cafe. Hes obsessing over appearing manly, she is trying to get to know him, and they haven't made it to first kiss yet. In a scene that seems to take 15-20 mins subjectively, it takes 6 pages for them to get through a dozen lines each. The rest is mental angst and over thinking. The book gets somewhat better as the action warms up.
The Angelic characters are badly written. No Angel of any calibre would/ should cuss at his superiors, let alone while in heaven, reporting to them in person. Why call God, the master (lower caps) - is this bondage, Doctor Who, or slavery?
I have better standards for my reading material. I forced myself to make it to 40% before giving up.

This book started out extremely interesting with different kind of angels. Marcus was the Guardian Angel to Amelia who kept choosing emotionally abusive men. She wasn't aware of him until the night one of her boyfriends became abusive. Marcus knew she was afraid and protected her. She still wasn't aware that he was an angel. It wasn't long before sex between the two entered. At that point the entire tone of the book changed.
I usually love to read paranormal books, especially ones about angels. The more I read this book, the more I was turned off. Fallen angels could easily go to Heaven and "Good" angels could go to Hell and defeat the "Evil" warrior angels there. There seemed to no differentiation between good and evil. Even demons and witches and fallen angels helped humans and even helped humans against "Heavenly" angels.
The more I read the more my interest turned to disappointment. Heaven was a place where angels had superiors who were deceitful. They colluded with other superiors and angels against humans. It was never revealed Why. Where was God while these devious superior angels mistreated angels as well as humans?
I've read several books by Felicity Heaton. This one left me disappointed and somewhat disgusted. The book whimpered to an ending, leaving me with no desire to read any more books in this series. This is not to say that I won't read other books by this author, just none in this series.
This is the second book I have read from this author, just another series. However like the last book I found it incredibly slow to get into. For a book less than 300 pages it took a long time for me to read. This is not to say it is a bad book, there was just something about it I could not connect with and lose myself in the story. I did not like that Marcus had to be manly and this word was used repeatedly. It was quite wordy and repetitive especially for the inner monologues. Cutting these down would shorten the book and make it a smoother read. I liked the concept of the different types of Angels. That good could be evil to do what it needed to do and that bad could have a limit of how evil they go. Although dark, I did like the idea of doomed lovers and that events are repeated. What I do not understand is why the angels would pick someone who loved the Seal to sacrifice her. That seemed rather cruel and counterproductive as he would try to fight the order. I loved the support characters like Taylor and Apollyon, they were strong characters and I really liked their personalities. Overall, it took a long time to read and get into but I did very much enjoy the ending. I would say its worth a read for your own opinion and for something different.

Marcus is a Guardian Angel and he has been watching Amelia since her birth. He has been sent to earth to protect her from danger but his superiors will not tell him what kind of danger to be looking for. Marcus moves into the same apartment building and floor that Amelia lives in. Amelia is a kind soul but she has terrible taste in men. When her ex shows up at her apartment and starts pounding on the door scaring her Marcus steps in and makes him leave. Amelia believes Marcus is a good man and would like to start a relationship with him but he warns her off. His superiors have instructed him to seduce her to get close but he does not want to deceive her in that way. When Amelia is in danger Marcus steps in to protect her and the secret he is a guardian angel is out of the bag. Amelia is a loss, she never believed in Heaven or Hell and now is faced with that reality but she is still in danger and they have no idea where the danger is coming from. There are so many twists and turn to this story, I loved it. The characters are amazing even though they didn't know each other for very long.
These just seem to keep getting better and better the deeper into the series I read. I also love how the characters from the previous story end up in them as well. It's like it's all one big story all from different perspectives. I am hoping that this is leading up to one giant plot, but I could be totally off on that.
Once again Ms. Heaton takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. I have to say, this book was completely full of surprises. I did not see half of them coming! I do hope the series continues to get better as I believe there are 4 more books left.
Only things I noticed were a couple of spelling errors and one or two grammatical ones. Not a big deal and didn't affect the story in the slightest!

Plot Her Guardian Angel, the fourth installment to Felicity Heaton's Her Angel series, is nothing short of a fabulous must-read paranormal romance that has it all. Ms. Heaton has a tendency to write stories that place you within the lives and adventures of her characters. Marcus and Amelia's story is as gut wrenching as it is romantic and there is no leaving the story until you have reached the last two words--The End. From chapter one the mystery intertwined around Amelia and Marcus propelled me on to reading just-one-more page. I often found myself losing track of time because of this. Not long into the story we find ourselves in danger from not only the dark Hell's Angels but also Heaven's. Which is an odd and welcomed twist to what so many author's have already written. I liked being surprised and not knowing whom to trust. Right along side Marcus and Amelia I was just as stunned as they were at how things developed with each flip of the page. And if one sexy Guardian Angel from Heaven determined to get to the bottom of this mystery behind who and what Amelia really is isn't enough for you,(I don't blame you) then be prepared to meet up with all the other angels from the three previous installments to the Her Angel Series. Apollyon, Lukas, and Einar are all present when it all hits the fan. Then the stakes rise even further as blood is spilled.
Just as I thought the ending was in sight the level of danger and adventure is turned up yet another notch when the Angel of Death, Apollyon must take Marcus and the others into Hell itself where the voice of the Devil will taunt even the strongest of Angels to turn sides. The fear and excitement for what happens to Marcus and Amelia was more than a wave of ups and downs. Their story is a riveting tidal wave of hope, despair, love, betrayal, and finally strength of greater proportions that I could have even imagined. It is a bit surprising to read a story of Heaven and Hell not being either wholly innocent or completely dark and evil The twists and turns continue to the every end, not leaving one page with a dull moment. Blood is shed and wills are bent against desires. You do not know who will die or who will be the victor. The author works her magic allowing us to follow along side the Guardian and his heroine, giving us deep insight to their feelings, their past, and their tentative future. There is no moment left unexposed, no experience pushed to the wayside. Her Guardian Angel is a love story that takes Angels, Demons, and mortals to the next level, pushing you as the reader to possibly experience these beings in a different light that is not always good and not always bad. I lost much sleep due to this story and every moment was worth it. You definitely know the story is good when the characters follow you into your dreams!
Now, as for the next book in the series, which there is a strong hint of one to come, I wonder if the author is thinking of Veiron, a Hell's Angel, as the next hero. If so, he'll be a wild card for sure!
Writing: There is one thing that I must say about Felicity Heaton's writing style and that is her constant ability to give the reader such great insight into her characters thoughts. She does it is such a way that it blends and melds into their actions allowing us to see how each feeling or emotion causes an outwards reaction of effect much like a ripple in a pool of water. She also allows the setting to play a large part in the story giving it a sense of balance between the characters and the surrounding going-ons.
Characters: Amelia starts out in the story as a normal human woman with a very bad streak of finding the not-so-good-guys for dating material. She comes across as a bit quirky at times yet very sexy. She is just a woman trying to find happiness after living with a very painful past. During the 'normal' moments of her life that we see when the story first begins she shows determination even though dealing with so much heavy baggage. I liked that in her. As the story progressed and the mysterious past begins to reveal itself to her, she is surprisingly calm and shows an admirable strength. She takes it in stride as Hell's Angels attack her and her 'neighbor' out of the blue. And when she finally learns she is more than just human (no spoilers) and her handsome protector is her Guardian Angel sent to her from heaven, she shows the power behind the emotion of love. Nothing proves this more than when her memories are stripped from her and the only thing guiding her is that same inner strength and her heart. Marcus, a Guardian Angel of Heaven, carries even more weight to deal with than Amelia. As a loyal subject of Heaven he does his duty with an unwavering faith. He is also strong and shows it by doing anything it takes to protect his charge from what he believes is the enemy even if it comes in the form of a friend. When things begin to unravel and it becomes hard to see whether Heaven or Hell is the enemy, he shows the same determination that Amelia possessed, proving to me that they were definitely a good match. As the twists and turns roll into an unstoppable force of love and adventure, these two characters and their story will become as dear to your heart as they have to mine.
Last Thoughts: A story with a dark and lethal mystery laced with betrayal, of Heaven and of Hell. Her Guardian Angel is a full throttle, action packed love story that you will not be able to put down! Felicity Heaton, I hope you are working on the next installment because I am addicted to this series!
Amelia has horrible taste in men. She always picks losers. When her latest comes beating at her door, her handsome neighbor steps in. Marcus has been Amelia’s guardian angel since she was born. His superiors in Heaven want him to keep her safe. When three demons try to hurt her, Marcus comes to the rescue. Amelia learns about angels and Heaven. They must go to some of Marcus’ friends for help. Will Marcus be able to protect Amelia even if it’s from himself.
Secrets. Angels. Demons. In my opinion it was too drawn out. I know it’s only 200 and some pages but I swear it felt like it was never going to end. Some of it was confusing to me.
