I love the Smith brothers!!! I would recommend reading these books in order because you won’t understand the story arch without context.
This time the story focuses on Alex. In the last book we saw a little bit of how Alex was in a toxic place. I didn’t realize the extent of that until reading this book. After the fallout with Angelo Alex really spirals into a dark place. It might even be made worse because Angelo forgives him even when Alex can’t forgive himself. His band is doing well and heads out on your which puts even more pressure on an already struggling Alex. His drinking takes over to the point where it impacts every single person around him.
Freya is an up and coming artist. She’s in the process of transitioning from the pop princess of her first album to the more grounded rock of her second. She thinks she’s scored her big break when she gets a contract to be the opening act for a really awesome band. It’s a bit of a reality check though when she sees how Alex’s drinking is out of hand. What shocks her more is the fact that everyone else seems to just try and ignore it instead of helping.
As Freya reaches out to Alex in support he finds himself opening up to her. Is it just because she doesn’t know him so can’t judge him? Or is it the fact that he feels a connection to her? Will either be able to resist the pull they feel towards each other especially knowing Alex should be focusing on himself?
This book is so well written. It speaks about addiction from the perspective of both the addicted person and also from the viewpoint of someone dealing with that person. There’s some tough decisions, when do you have to just walk away and put yourself first?

Alex Smith is part of a Rock Band. Alex has made some poor decisions in the past. One of them is Alcohol. He drinks to excess to forget what he did. Then he's only hurting his friends, the members of the band, his brother and himself. Everyone has turned their backs on him. Freya Brown reaches out to Alex to see if he will listen to her. She has feelings for him. Maybe she can get him some help. This book was amaxing!! The storyline was well written. Alex and Freya have great chemistry. All the characters worked well together. I followed the storyline perfectly, it kept me glued to the pages! I love Brenda Ford's Books !! I read this through an arc program BookSprout & this is my own opinion of this story. 💖🐧💋

Alex has sworn off women but when Freya enters his world sparks fly. Freya and Alex are both in the music business and Freya wants to tour with Alex but can he move past the betrayal of his twin? Fast-paced read with lots of drama and emotion. I really liked the characters and their chemistry. Emotional and entertaining. I really liked it.

I will begin by saying that I liked Alex better than Angelo. It was messed up what happened in the last book between the brother's. Yet Angelo forgave him but the problem is that Alex is having a hard time forgiving himself. Which makes him drink himself into a bad place. Thankfully Freya came into his life. She was able to get him the help he needed and while doing so they fell in love.

Alex is a rocker that is struggling with the decisions he has made in his life. He chose the wrong woman that happened to be with his twin brother and now he drowns his sorrows in alcohol. This makes touring with the band even more of a challenge. Freya is a pop princess and is trying to come into her own with her career. She ends up as the opening act for Alex's band. Alex is horrible towards her from the moment they meet yet Freya goes out of her way to try and help him. Alex notices this and that she doesn't judge him like everyone else. So when he hits bottom she is the one he turns to for help making his band mad because they had no say in what was to be done about Alex. It was just done and they were told about it after the fact. Freya doesn't care about the fame and money aspect of the business and doesn't see those things when she looks at Alex. She genuinely just wanted to get him the help he needed whether he wanted to be with her afterwards or not didn't matter to her. Will Alex be upset with Freya for what she did? Can they have a lasting relationship with how the started?
This is an amazing story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

July 2, 2019Oh boy, Ms. Ford has entertained us time and again, however, this incredible Author has taken a real life issue and used her 'platform' as a way to shed much needed light on a hard hitting subject. As if that's not enough, the storyline between Alex and Freya is just so wonderfully designed. You can easily envision these characters, as well as the scenarios that they find themselves in. It takes an incredibly talented Author to draw a reader into the storyline, and keep them there, to the point you become addicted to the plot (even though you know it's Fiction). As you follow their unbelievable journey together, you can actually 'feel' their emotions in this superbly crafted release. I encourage all romance readers to follow along as these rockers make you feel their beat, right to your core.

In Rock Hard, Brenda Ford delivers a romance filled with angst, personal demons, unconditional love and ultimate strength. Alex Smith has betrayed his twin brother, Angelo, and even though he has forgiven him, Alex can't forgive himself. He is a flawed man who struggles with alcohol and reverts to old, destructive habits. Freya is an up and coming rock star who has the good fortune of opening on tour for Alex's band, The Blood Red Masters. He is caustic and condescending to her, but she recognizes that he's a good man underneath his pain. As he spirals deeper with the help of alcohol, it's Freya who comes to help him get into rehab. He misjudged this beautiful lady and feels himself falling for her. He knows better to think that she could feel the same way. But after she helps him down a constructive path, there is always hope. There is a touching, happy ending to this romance, which is amplified by the feeling of promise that has been portrayed so perfectly throughout. Brenda has written a wonderful book that creates and holds its mood, pace and form from the first page to the last. Thoroughly enjoyable!

This is a steamy contemporary romance set in the music business and all the stress that goes with it. What amazing characters were developed complete with needs, flaws and the ability to change. It is a heartwarming story as you struggle to like Alex and want Freya to get everything she needs to be happy. This book is an emotional rollercoaster that pulls you into the ups and downs as the characters struggle to have careers, deal with their addictions, find happiness and move towards a life that they can achieve their goals. The storyline moves quickly as so many things happen, and it keeps you turning the pages until the end. The steamy scenes work well in the storyline. If you like steamy, contemporary romance then you will like this one.

A bad boy rockstar who drinks booze all the time to try to take away his heartache, a pop princess who’s deciding to sing rock joins up with the bad boys band as a starter for his band what could go wrong?. Well a lot actually when Alex is always drunk and abusing everyone but there is only one person who see’s his pain that is actually there for him and that’s the pop princess Freya. Things didn’t go well when they first met he told her that she’s no good and that she will drag the band down but it wasn’t Freya who was playing drunk at the concerts Alec hadn’t even heard Freya sing he doesn’t even know her he just abuses everyone. This story made me sad for Alex he was so broken hearted he couldn’t see through his own pain and he drank to dull it, I loved Freya she is a strong girl who has her head on straight but when it comes to Alex she always second guesses herself. I’m not going to get into too much of this story and I’m going to leave that up to you to find out what happens. This is a fantastic story and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

This story is about Alex and Freya, both are singers one is upcoming and the other established, but an alcoholic. Alex hasn’t forgiven himself for hurting and betraying a member of his family, his twin Angelo. In the first book Alex was cheating with Angelo’s girlfriend Mandy; this is something that caused a major wedge between twin brothers, but the fact that he couldn’t forgive himself and went to drinking hasn’t helped much either. Although this is a standalone book, it would be beneficial to read the Tempt Me Forever to understand the drama that happened. Ultimately, Alex is now alone and has found someone that understand him but how much can she take, she is beginning a career, does she really need this? Overall, it is a good read, it does have a happy ending but what made the book was the reality of an addiction that sometime is overlooked in order to avoid the topic. I rated it a 4.5, but had to round up in Goodreads and Amazon.

Rock Hard. This book was a surprise to me. It was filled with drama and romance to keep me interested. I haven't read the previous books, but I plan to read the whole series. It is a great story about how so many people have to deal with addiction. This book shows how an alcohol addiction can destroy more than just that person but everyone that person comes in contact with. Lives are changed dramatically. Alex nearly destroys his career as well as the rest of the band. Everyone is tired of his ways and looks the other way but Freya and she risks everything to help him because she finds herself falling for him. Alex allows her to help him and she takes him to rehab which probably saves his life. This was a great romance read! If you are a fan of the movie "Walk the Line," you will love this book! I love to root for the underdog, and it is so easy to become a fan of Alex Smith.
Alex Smith is a rock god who can't seem to keep himself out of trouble, but he is a sweet and emotional guy underneath it all. Freya Brown is a hard-working pop princess trying to grow up and into her own sound. She doesn't take her success for granted.
Alex and Freya's story is deeply touching. Alex's journey is difficult, and Freya's strength and insight are remarkable. The story will stick with you afterward.
This is another installment in the Smith brothers books, although it reads perfectly as a stand alone. I would rate this 4.5 stars if possible.

Fantastic brothers the Smiths and a fantastic series. If you previously loved reading about Angelo well you will love reading about his twin Alex even more.

I needed to get the tissues out it’s so moving and heartbreaking. Thankfully he has someone in his life who will rock his world in more ways than he can ever imagine..,Freya Brown. If ever he deserved another chance at life and happiness it’s Alex with Freya. Alex struggles with his demons but Freya is there for him. Loved it

An amazing intense second chance romance. This storyline was well written as you journey through a romance of one with addiction. Its beautifully described of how addiction affects and changes everything, everyone and shows how lives change dramatically and the journey back with a wonderful show of strength and determination. The characters are well developed with fantastic chemistry. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC.

First I highly recommend you read Tempt Me Forever to fully understand everything Alex has been through. Alex, a rock god, is still dealing with his betrayal to his twin brother Angelo and has turned to alcohol. Freya is a pop princess finding her way into rock music. Their story is a roller coaster ride of emotions and they go through so much to get their HEA. Overall a good story and kept my attention from the start. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Another great read from this author. This is the fourth book in this series and they keep getting better and better. The story was well written, with likeable characters and great chemistry. A must read for this book and series. You will not put it down till you have finished it.

This is an intensely hot story. Fun characters were crazy good chemistry that sizzles and burns up the pages. Loved the drama and LOL moments. A definite page turning story that kept my interest from the first page and never let me go. Read this book now!!!!!!!!!!

Life is an adventure that is so true and a good book to read is a great addition to the adventure. Family is amazing in this series shows strength to pull out of anything that happens.
