Welcome to the world of Dragon's Gap where you will find adventure, romance, dragons, love and laughter, paranormal shifters, faeries, elves and other beings from fantasy but most of all, dragons come to fall in love.
Join Sage and Reighn as they struggle to live in a world where magic has returned, where Sages little baby girl goes missing and the Dragon Lord finds her then all hell breaks loose.
The Dragon Lord watched as the little one went from cat to human to cat. “Come kitten, come to Reighn.” She shifted back to human and stuck her fist into her mouth, tears ran down her reddened cheeks, his deep soft voice stilled her movements. “Come here little hatchling, I won’t hurt you, all will be well, come on kitten, come to Reighn.”
“WHERE... IS... MY... DAUGHTER?” Sage demanded before the great doors made from the hardest iron wood that had withheld marauding armies with battering rams, blew apart like kindling.
Reighn, the Dragon Lord has at last found his soul shadow, an improbability a half witch half wolf,
Reighn grinned. “Good I am dragon, my heart, we live for improbabilities. “I have lived a thousand years and thought to never have a shadow or hatchling, so I and my dragon are beyond pleased, we are forever in your debt and honored to be yours.”
Sage, saw the hole, saw the never ending abyss and still she jumped feet first into love as a shifter, instinct drove her mating or at least the willingness to chance a mating, her witch side recognized power and felt the draw of spirits as they met, melded and entwined forever to be bonded together throughout eternity.
Reighn states his ultimatum to the stubbon Dragon Kind.
* I am your Lord. * The Lord of all Dragons! * That has not changed. * I have already said this once this week but it bears repeating. * THIS IS NOT A DEMOCRACY! * You have no voice here. * You have no rights here. * The only voice that matters is mine! * The only rights you have are the ones I allow you. * As of now I have removed all your privileges. * You will comply or you will be banished. * There is no other option.
“You have twenty four hours to decide. If in that time you have not sworn fealty to me and the dragon nation I will decide for you. Make no mistake, this is going to happen. With or without you. Now I suggest you go home and make your decisions. Dismissed”
A shifter dressed in jeans and a long sleeved shirt open to the waist showing a well muscled chest and six pack with dark unwashed hair squatted on the deck of a mansion or what had been one once. He looked at John from eyes gone dark, his beast riding just under the surface of his skin, his voice, when he spoke, was low and guttural. “What do you want here dragon?” “I come to find the uncle to our Dragon Lord’s mate, Sage, witch, shifter, half breed.” “I am he, what do you want of me?” “I want you to call your bitch of a niece here, so I may end this once and for all.’ Robard laughed deeply and just a shade of insanity seeped through. “You think to use me for your own purposes against my own kin?” he laughed harder and rose to his great height as four shifters entered the yard. “Behold what is left of my pack, ask the Alpha whore and her bitches if they will help you, I will not!"
A fantastic introduction to Dragon's Gap, the first book of this epic series with vibrant characters from the dark side and the light side with twists and turns that will keep yo
This book had potential and I read to the end which says something. But the writing is not good. It’s all over the place. It doesn’t flow and honestly it’s a bit of a mess. That said I’m considering continuing on. I’m hoping the writing improves and I’m curious where it’s going.
Welcome to the world of Dragon’s Gap! Dragon’s Gap is a paranormal romance series featuring dragons and other supernaturals. Each book features a different couple, but the over all ARC, family dynamics, and magical world continues to grow in each installment. I’d recommend reading in order due to these things. The set up is instant mates. The kids featured in the series are adorable and bye some magical means they know who their adoptive parents will be. The series is in Kindle Unlimited.
Reign & Sage’s Story - Book 1
The book has potential with an interesting plot, but the writing is disjointed and it needs work. You would be reading along and then the next paragraph we have a different character’s POV. I had to re-read a few times to make sure what I was reading was what I thought. I hope this improves.
The romance is clean and instant. I never felt the romance. I was more into the storyline of the half-breeds, Goddess, & our lead heroine, Sage, plus the adorable children. Their world is changing now that magic has returned.
I liked it enough even with the awful editing. I’ll be continue the series to see how the overall story ARC progression.
Storyline was simple. Romance was uncomplicated. It might have been boring but it was so difficult to read it was ridiculous. 90% of the punctuation was missing. Words were thrown in Willy nilly. They had sentences going on for paragraphs. No quotation marks. Not a lot of capitals.
I loved the story, but the editing was terrible. Periods where there should be commas, no commas at all in other places. It was almost as if it were translated from another language or written by someone who doesn't know English very well.
I would have given it a much higher rating except for the editing. And I will read the next one.
Apparently my review has disappeared, so here it is again.
Thank you for pointing out my error. It has since been corrected (See how easy that is?)
250 is only the number of errors that I noted. Had I noted the number of run-on sentences, the times sentences were broken in the middle for punctuation that did not belong there, incorrect punctuation, the number would have been exponentially higher. Why? Because these types of errors exist on every single page.
As I said before - your story is good and the characters show continued growth. That is only the story. That does not address the finished product you put out for sale. The cover art was spectacular and relates to the story inside. My statement on the rough edges of the work inside still stands. These books are in serious need of editing.
This is only the third 1-star review I've written in the five years I've been reviewing books. Do I enjoy writing reviews? Absolutely. Do I enjoy giving an author only 1 or 2 stars? No. A lot of work goes into a book, including more than a couple rewrites needed to put out the best possible product.
You asked if I'd seen the number of positive reviews you have on these books. Yes. But when a review documents numerous errors, as did several on Amazon, it would behoove the author to take another look at what was published.
As for my criteria when I decide how many stars I give a book, the following is published on my blog.
I define my star ratings as follows: 5 stars = A book can't get any better than this 4 stars = I really enjoyed the story, found it difficult to set aside. 3 stars = I liked the story, but was able to set the book aside and do other things. 2 stars = The story either didn't really grab my interest OR had several errors and should be pulled off shelves and re-edited. I will specify which applies in my review. 1 star = The story either put me to sleep OR read like a work-in-progress and should not have been published in its current condition. I will specify which applies in my review.
5 stars are reserved for books that: have no errors AND profoundly affect me, OR pull me in so thoroughly I've lost all track of time and can't put it down
For 3-5 stars - Now that I'm posting reviews to five/six sites in addition to here, it has become much easier to tell people who follow my Facebook book review page which booksellers carry the title I am reviewing. Any errors found during reading will be mentioned in my review, as well as whether those errors had an impact on how I rated your book. Also, I will add a link to your Amazon author page so readers have the option to purchase other work by you.
Where I post reviews All reviews originate on my blog. They are then copied to each of the following sites that carry your book: Amazon Barnes & Noble Smashwords (if the book came from there - their requirement, not mine) Goodreads
This was a very entertaining series. I read all the books in the series and was so fascinated from the first book that I just had to the next one and then the next and then the next. While there were no traditional cliffhangers I keep wanting to see what happened next. All the characters were likable and the authors emphasis on the ties that bind family (blood and not) was very nice to read. There were no overt sex scenes and that was cool. The only reason this series did not warrant a 5 stars was because of some bad editing. Not enough to keep me from knowing what the author meant but it was still a little irritating. It obviously wasn't enough to keep me from reading every book in the series, even the little side tales, which to be honest should have been more prominent because it gave some much need insight into some of the characters. I especially loved the last one which is the Christmas one. So readers be prepared to not sleep for a couple of nights while you get through the series. My thanks to the author for such an entertaining read. You will find this review on each of the book pages because what else is there to say.

Heather's Notes I liked this story. I felt like you are given enough information to understand what is going on, without an information dump that happens in a lot of first series booked. It was longer than I thought it would be, but it moved a fairly fast pace and didn't seem to have a lot of lag. There was a lot characters introduced but fortunately the names are different enough that I feel we can keep them separate. My only real problem is I felt like Sage should have done more magic stuff. It keeps talking about how she is a powerful witch, but she did very little with that. Hopefully it will be explored more as the series continues. I will look forward to continuing this series.
I found this series through an ad on Facebook and since I'm always looking for a new fantasy author/series, I thought I would give it a try.
I'm about 25% through the book and I will not be finishing it. Given that I have only not finished about 3 books in my lifetime, this is telling in itself.
Ms. Lacee obviously has lots of good ideas but her execution is lacking. The plot is disjointed - something happens and then there is a chapter on the backstory - and this happens over and over again rather than building a good story with character interaction. The characters are not well developed - the story is supposed to be about Sage but a quarter into the book, I really don't have a good sense of her and quite frankly, don't care about her. The book does not build its characters; it gives you bits of information about them. For example, Sage has 2 best friends - there is very little information on why they are her best friends: how they built their friendship.
I agree with other reviews that this book needs a good editor. It feels like a first draft that needs to be fleshed out.
I wanted to like this book but save your time and read something else.
I can’t say enough good things about this book, and this series. This is the fifth or sixth time I’ve read it, and it just keeps getting better and better! I get lonely for the characters and the town of Dragons Gap, and I have to come and visit again, all the time wishing I could live there. As with all first books in a series, there is a lot of important information that needs to be shared. The author does a wonderful job of weaving that through the story in a natural progression. The reader never feels the story drag, or gets bogged down in details. Most of the characters most important to the story are introduced in this book, but certainly not all of them. Each book in the series adds new depth and adventure. I never wanted the series to end, and fortunately the author has written a few short stories as well as several Christmas stories that add so much to Dragons Gap! I can’t recommend this book highly enough. They need to be read in order. Enjoy!
If you thought this was just a book about Dragons you'd be wrong on sooooo many levels! This is a book for anyone interested in dragons and shifters, elementals, Gods & Goddesses! The story begins by telling the story of Sage, a young woman who just happens to be both werewolf and witch and maybe a bit more. From her time in her Uncle's pack/kingdom, where she never really fits in, to finding where she truly belongs, in a village protected by (guess what) Dragons, called Dragon's Gap. There her life really begins! Finding and making friends, love and a life anyone would want. But if you think this would be a light read, you would again be wrong. With so many different kinds of beings, there's lots of characters to keep track of. A great beginning to the series! I'll be moving on to the next one!
This book needs some serious editing. It's a basic read lacking world and character building and although it hit some of my spots for romance, overall, I couldn't get past the grammatical errors and the disjointed thoughts. A great concept but needs a VERY good editor for a re-print. Maybe even flesh out more details of surroundings and such like. Characters can be given a bit more depth because they are one-dimensional and there's too clear a delineation between black and white aka good and bad with no grays anywhere. A simple read that's not terrible if you can get past the major lack of editing.
OK so I honestly find this book hard to review. There are some aspects of the book that I would rate as 5 stars. The story itself is intricate, full of conspiracies and with a very unique look at the supernatural world. However it was written in such a way that it felt jumpy and flitted from one characters monologue to another. One minute Sage would be front and centre then it would jump to a council member sometimes it just didn't mesh for me.
All that being said I read the whole book and found I was invested enough that I had to see how it finished.
This story had a marvellous concept behind it and book was well written grammatically but it needs a good editor.
What should have been a shortened prologue went too long. Characters were introduced with little explanation and hard to keep track of as identifying characteristics were minimal. Yet the writer spent too long on describing non important things. The writing stayed the same whether things were going well or should have building up to a dramatic explosion. It was all the same either way.
I will continue to read the series as I like the concept and hope that the author becomes a little more relaxed in her writing as the series progresses.
Loving this world that L M Lacee has brought us. This first book takes quite the journey. There are intrigues and heartache along the way, and eventually after hearts are tested true we find gifts and blessings... and ongoing challenges that strong hearts rise to meet.
Very enjoyable first story in the Dragon's Gap series. Big fan of Reighn and Sage. Plus I'm easy to please, with wonderful dialog and humor that makes me laugh out loud. Completely taken with the Kingsley family members... love Verity and Rene... and all their sons.
I've already begun book 2, and have to make myself stop for the night.
Really good book, it combines Dragons, Shifters, Goddesses, and humans in a manner that creates a movie in your mind's eye as you read.I
The Earth has experienced a catastrophic event that destroyed most lifeforms. New life has appeared in the form of Dragons, Shifters, Humans with Dragons at the top of the food chain. The time has come for magic to reappear and the Dragons are not happy with the loss of status. Sage...a human witch...is the major catalyst in redeeming the p!sent for all life forms.
I really wanted to love this story but I couldn't. I did finish reading it simply because I wanted to know what happened.
The sentence structure was reprehensible. The punctuation was beyond awful with question marks where there should have periods and periods where there should have been commas or nothing at all. Missing words in sentences compounded the problem.
The story itself was mediocre. It had so much potential but sadly fell short. I do not recommend this book to anyone. I will not be reading anything else by this author.
Dragon's Gap book 1 by Lacee. Sage Harris, a witch, is our heroine. There are shifters, half-bloods and dragons. There is a Goddess who looks after Sage and directs her to Dragon's Gap and becoming the shadow of our hero, Reighn. He has a big role to play, ridding the castle of the discontents. Her aunt, Pearl, is one of the antagonists in the beginning and at the end. A good story that I found marred by long sentences & missing commas. A query on the word "dias" - I think could be "dais".
A fast read with terrific world building. Dragon's Gap #1 has a unique take on shifters, magic users and humans that sucks you in and carries you along for the ride. The characters are so well rounded, you are even rooting for side characters. The romance between Reighn and Sage is compelling and warm. But best of all is the theme: Family is what you make, not necessarily biological, but those you choose to bring into your life and keep close. I look for to reading more in this series.
Reighn is Dragon Lord of Dragon Gap, a safe place for Shifters. He is enjoying some time alone at an outdoor café when a kitten jumps on him. The kitten is a hatchling and he recognizes it. The mother is Sage - a half witch, half wolf shifter. Reighn recognizes Sage as his Shadow - fated mate. He thought he'd never find one. A Shadow and a hatchling, he is thrilled. Others are not so happy and will try to disrupt their HEA.
I had to train myself to completely ignore any punctuation. Nothing made sense if you followed the rules of commas and periods. As the reader, you must overlook the provided punctuation otherwise you will never understand a single sentence. Most of the time when a question mark was placed, the character really needed an exclamation point as it was not a question. I honestly might have continued the series, but the punctuation torture was much too extreme!!
Did the author have anyone proof-read these?! The number of grammatical errors, incorrect use of commas, incomplete sentences completely ruined this series for me. Not to mention: Reighn - really? Fan fiction, much (Channeling JR Ward: Tohrment, Rhage, etc. - it's bad enough in Ward's books)?!
I kept reading because the stories held my interest, but the issues ruined them for me and I won't be reading this author again.
How do I start this story is unlike any other shifter book I H have ever read no obvious sexual content what a relief. The flow of the story and characters is seamless and holds the reader enthralled from beginning to the end, I hope the next book in series is as good. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves dragons shifters, and magic. I would but this author up there with my favourite Dragon authors such as Anne McCaffrey well worth my five stars
LM Lacee has crafted an epic tale, following the lives of the Kingsley family. Reighn is the Dragon Lord, and his shadow, his soul is Sage, whose life is bound to the destiny of the Goddess. Intriguing characters and a plot rich in history give this story a unique style and appeal.
The story was very good. I was able to read it by extrapolating. It was very interesting, but would be 5 stars IF it had been edited well. There were far too many grammatical, spelling, and punctuation mistakes. My suggestion is to hire an excellent editor. If this is done, I will give this a full 5 stars as a great read!
I've read this whole series... now the story is good. A bit predictable, but that really appeals to some people. The hardest part for me was the bad grammar, oddly used phrases, and consistent misspelling of otherwise common words... bear vs bare ... for instance! It really struck me as either a young writer, or someone that didn't speak English as their first language.
I enjoyed the story quite a lot! The only reason I gave it only 4 stars is I found a lot of mistakes. You should have someone listen to the book first. If a mistake is an actual word, spell checkers will not always catch it.
Would have given this book a four but it is the poorest exited book I have ever read. Interestingly enough the editing is very inconsistent from an occasional error to barely legible passages.
Pretty good story. Really, really poor editing. This series has a lot of potential, but needs work. Premise is good, some of the characters need to be more fleshed out and the story checked for continuity. Some work would make a fair book into a very good book.
