Having been on a TL Payne reading quest as of late, I can attest to the interest this storyline will give a reader. You must read book 1 & 2 in this series in order to follow along with the Langston family storyline.

Finally the Langston's have made it back to their family cabin in Missouri. Equipped with their father's prepped cabin to survive the end of the world, the characters feel like they might just survive this new world. But the old world ways of anger, hate and crime seem to only increase in this small town community as a local girl goes missing bringing the focus to a local prison.

With that being said... I have enjoyed this series thoroughly thus far. Payne has been a wealth of information and written the series in a way that completely believable until now. Throughout this series Greg Langston has been a prepper, a marine, an expert on the fall of civilization. But I really struggled with him picking his epic hideaway so close to a high crime prison. Seems like for all the planning, this was an out of character move on Payne's character that just didn't quite sit well with me.

However, that didn't negate the well told story of what will happen after the lights go out, food runs short, and evil people start to openly show their true colors. This novel introduces some new characters, some new heart thumping moments and once again sucked me into the Langston world.

Three books out of seven and I don't know if I want to continue. The story and the writing is not bad, but - still dont know if im that interested to find out what would be next. I have to say that this series gets a little better with each book, but not by much, I feared. The FMC is a young woman who finds herself in the post apo world, in this book her family finally meet. They have been prepared for such a situation by their late military father. But they have their safe place near a big prison (like wtf?). The book has three POV's and I have only read two so far and still dont seem to be missing anything. Im not a native speaker and I must say that this book is really easy and quick to read, but something is just missing for me to want to read this series till the end. Maybe in the future. I would say this series is 3.5*.

Made me miss home...

I really like the way this author writes but the reason for the review's title is that this series, at least where the cabin is located, is set in the area where I grew up. I lived on a farm and attended Lebanon High School (which was the school that Austin, one of the characters, referred to in a derogatory manner). Our nearest neighbor was 5 miles away and the nearest town (Lebanon) was 20 miles away. Of course, that was more than 40 years ago but the place names are the same and the good guys in this book like Ron and Ryan remind me of my father and some of our neighbors,

A good read for this genre. I like to periodically read post apocalyptic books mainly for the prepper information and ways of surviving. I find some of these books to be silly while others are very good at providing realistic goals in preparing for an unseen event even if it's just a major storm and I'm without electricity for more than two days.
I liked this series but by the last book I was ready to end the series and move on to another genre. But I'll be back.

Thoroughly enjoyable.

Days of Want has been totally engrossing. I've Read the first three books n four days. The main characters have become peel I care about and look forward to see progress as we go forth. I do miss Emma. Ill be ordering book 4 when I finish this review. Though My family are not peppers we do try to keep a reasonable supply of essentials on hand and I've made note of a few to add to my list.

Good One

Book 3 was a winner for me. Lots of action, people arriving, some dying and some new!
I still don't know how the men could complain about the weather being so hot and how they were sweating so heavy.. Hint..maybe the long beards??
Anyway getting the farm ready for winter, a shortage of cabins, worry about enough food
and if the prison was going to release the severe population has everyone on edge.
So I'm off to read book 4. See you then!

One of the best reads you will read this year

A brilliant mix of pepper this and non stop action . T.l Payne , brilliantly intertwines prepper tips and character development . As you read , you will find yourself captivated and reading vanished after chapter . Red pill yourself or just go for an incredible ride of what just might happen one day .

It's good..but

There are so many typos and some details were different. First, you had 400 maximum security prisoners then 600. I've been sticking around to see how our characters are doing. It's a good series if you don't mind figuring out what's going on in some situations. It's really not an issue with me.. I deal with it frequently. Enjoy!

Great continuation

Each is it's own story but it continues into the next. I'm enjoying this take on dystopian living. The violence that is a natural occurrence in the stabilizing time is to be expected. Really good writing although a formality of speech that tales getting used to.

Definite page turner

This is a gripping series that follows a family and friends in the aftermath of an EMP. Electric is out, violence is rampant and it is a struggle to survive. Their preparedness thanks to Maddie and Zach's late father has given them the will and knowledge to survive. Now on to book 4!

Maybe it's just my mood but dang it I wanted to love this series. Both 1 & 2 were alright but by 3 I was just over it. Payne's editor kept doing a very poor job which got very annoying. Payne himself just did not move the story along quick enough for me. I'm walking away...for now perhaps I'll come back to it. I truly don't understand how this has a 4.45 star rating...

Excellent book as were books #1 and #2. I have already ordered books #4, #5, and #6. I hope that there will be more in the series. The man is a genius at building his characters in his books. I read the paperback version.

I really enjoyed this book, fast paced, and an emotional rollercoaster, I especially liked the underlying conspiracy of the story. Great narration from Kevin Pierce. I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

Great story

I’m really enjoying the balance of relationships, gun battles and the struggles to survive the EMP blast. And corruption rampant in those who swore to protect their country. Rock solid characters and attention to detail makes this entire series stand out!

Sadness Up Ahead

It’s so sad to have so much tragedy hitting you in the face as the apocalypse begins! But, the camaraderie of those who had foresight to prepare helps so much. I think we all need to get ready... Things are going to fall apart pretty soon...

Really, I’d give this one 3.5 stars.
The writer obsessively writes in passive tense, which is very distracting and makes the book unnecessarily drawn out instead of attention-grabbing and concise. Still, the overall story is good.

The story of the survivors of the EMP Apocalypse continued with new twists and turns. There were some parts that made me emotional at times. And again the story shows that humans are their own worst enemy.
