The Beginning
Fresh out of an abusive relationship, Aria moves in with her twin brother, Alex, ready for a new start. He offers her a job working with him as a paranormal investigator, which she reluctantly agrees to. Aria is a skeptic of anything she cannot see with her eyes. Alex, on the other hand, has always been a believer in anything and everything paranormal. When Aria and Alex go to California to help investigate a large building where strange things are happening she has no idea how her world is going to be turned upside down.
When they arrive, she meets Tyler, one of the biggest mysteries she never saw coming. He’s a tall and sexy man, but her attraction to him is more than that. She can’t explain why she can feel the energy pulsing from him. During the investigation, things start to unfold and very quickly, Aria comes to realize she isn’t who she thought she was. She may not even be human.
Together with Tyler and Alex, she goes on a pursuit to find out the truth. Traveling through planets and dimensions, meeting creatures she only thought existed in fantasy stories, she will have to question everything she ever believed. When she finds out the truth what will that mean for her and Alex? And what about Tyler? How does he fit in with all of this?
The Mythical Universe: The Beginning is an action-packed story full of time traveling, hybrids, aliens, vampires, fairies and so much more.

This magical story was seriously so exciting! It had me gripped from page one, and it was an easy read and I just really enjoyed every single page! So here’s most of the story line without giving away what happens!
So the main character Aria moves in with her brother Alex after a bad breakup, he also offers to get her a job at his paranormal investigation company which she accepts!
The 2 of them have completely different views! Alex believes there is more in the world than just humans and Aria is completely skeptical, however she takes the jobs as it’s her own income, so they become a team!
3 months later when they are on one of their paranormal investigations. When they are outside they see 4 white lights and when Aria starts asking questions Alex soon shuts her down!
Alex eventually opens up and tells Aria that what they saw were UFOs and that Aliens are real! He thought the UFO would stop following him if he had a partner but that turns out to not be the case.
They soon get called up to a large scale paranormal investigation to a property where they want to turn the place in to a hotel! This means joining other team members ! When Aria meets Tyler (another paranormal investigator) she feels this weird vibration off of him! When she explains this to her brother he explains it’s like an energy but when her and Tyler’s hand touches he glows! This leads to Alex telling Aria that Tyler is a Hybrid, half alien, half human!
Soon Alex and Aria are introduced to Tyler’s dad and they both learn of a whole new world out there, full of all types of mythical creatures, their lives soon change and they start to try and track down their parents which isn’t easy!
They all travel abroad to try and find Alex and Arias parents when strange and worrying things start happening!
Things get nasty when their parents turn up at short notice and this is when the action really begins!
Aria becomes weak, and while in the search for someone close to her lots of family home truths in both hers and Tyler’s family come to the surface!
There is a Royal family which is made up of 1 of every species of creature, the royal family is dangerous! Eugenia is the Queen of the Hybrids and part of the royal family and we learn a lot about the history of how the royal family began and how it works!
Eugenia and Ekon (the king of the shifters) want a lot from Aria, but is everything as it seems?
What will happen to them all, what is expected and needed of them? What dangers will they face? You’ll just have to read it!
This story is BRILLIANT! It’s the first in the series and the way it’s been left I cannot wait for number 2! I found it completely captivating with not one slower point in the whole book!
I love the whole concept of this story! The characters are brilliant! I love how Aria goes from being the biggest skeptic to accepting everything she is told and learns over the 6 month period! She’s strong and loyal and will always protect her friends and family!
Alex I felt for through the whole book as people seemed to forget about him like he wasn’t important! He had it so tough and yet carried on doing anything he could to protect his sister and I LOVED who he fell for!
Eugenia, is naive but a strong Queen, who you just have to read to find out more about her!
Ekon is pure evil and HATES the hybrids! However is he all evil or does he have a side that no one realises?
My favorite character by far is Tyler! He is Arias great protector! He is the ultimate gentleman I just love him! I feel for him when he can’t get hold of his family and when he learns about his blood line, however his dedication and love for Aria is like none other!
This book to me, is like the ultimate magical, mythical, fantasy book! Not only were Aliens and shape shifters involved there are fairies, ogres, vampires, wear wolves and if you can think of it it’s in there!
Honestly I think this book is something to get really excited about, it’s enchanting and spectacular! Full of adventure, love, passion, heart break, growth, self discovery, tradegy it’s an easy
5 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ from me, I can’t believe how fast I read it! I just couldn’t put it down! I was excited about this book from the blurb but it still really suprised me just how AMAZING it really is!

A beautifully intricate story filled with bits and pieces that will appeal to a wide range of readers: paranormal and mythological characters and imagery, sci-fi, fantasy, well-developed family/ social dynamics, and romance, all placed in an alternate version of our modern world.
I would say this book falls hard into the New Adult category, as it contains regular use of adult language and several very tactfully done sex scenes, as well as a few frank and open discussions around the main characters past toxic relationship.
I found this an absolutely enthralling novel/ audiobook (I own both), and I look forward to reading future volumes of The Mythical Universe series.

I really enjoyed this book and found it to be original and refreshing, the characters charming and appealing and the world building believable. I found the plot intriguing and thought provoking, was and soon invested in the lives of Aria, Alex & Tyler, and need to read the next book to find out what's next for them especially as the book ends on a cliff hanger! The book is aimed for a new adult age group, but I believe enjoyable to any age, the narrator Cassandra hoyt was new to me and pretty good.

Great addition to the paranormal romance genre. Not another a story not about vampires and werewolves! :)
This is a very easy, enjoyable read. I didn't read it all in one sitting, but it was close. I was drawn in and swept along with the momentum of the story.
I'm eager to see more from this writer. I look forward to reading more of the characters' histories.

This book is a xfiles on steroids tour de force that will snatch your breath away. Mulder and Scully ain’t got nothing on this pair.

From starting out with a skeptical of anything abnormal main character to delving into a world rich with mythical creatures and an entire hierarchy of how they coexist - this book does not disappoint! The book steadily increases the amount at risk for the main character, Aria, as new characters, species, and stakes come into play. This was a book I hated to see end, but look forward to seeing what happens next in the series!

July 11, 2020Ok, this was just an all-around fun read and I couldn't put it down. read the whole book in two days and want to check out the sequel. There are some typos and formatting errors, but the fact that it was just such a gripping read cancels that out. Definitely unique and worth a look!

The story has potential, but I just couldn't get into it. Everything fell flat and seemed so wholly implausible.

This is such a fresh take on many of my favorite subjects!
The character development was so deep and so fast I got from
reading each word, sentence, paragraph to immersion and forgetting
that I was reading a book so fast ... it was wonderful!
Not only was the character depth so well developed, but their interactions were also
so dynamic and believable. I suspect this may be an alternate reality that
the author has been observing, it is so complex and complete.
I picked up the book and, around 3:30 am finished it but was left wanting so much more. The cliffhanger is quite delicious.
Impatiently awaiting book 2.
