Classic Classroom Activities is a teacher resource book which offers over 130 reproducible communicative practice activities and 768 picture cards based on the vocabulary of The Oxford Picture Dictionary. These activities, suitable for beginning through intermediate-level adult and young adult ESL students, incorporate the topics and vocabulary from each of the twelve thematic units in The Oxford Picture Dictionary, but can be readily used as a supplement to other textbooks as well. The activities foster meaningful student-to-student interaction and develop cooperative critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Each activity strengthens students' accuracy and fluency in listening to and speaking English as well as provides opportunities for reading and writing skills at the word and sentence level. Teacher's notes and instructions, including adaptations for multi-level classes, are provided.
