Reincarnation: Science of the Afterlife

Rate this book
Is there life after death? Most of the world’s great religions say yes and affirm the law of karma, i.e. we “reap what we sow.” Throughout history reincarnation was accepted almost universally as the process by which the soul journeys toward eventual union with God. Even today a majority of the world’s population believes in reincarnation. But is belief in an afterlife just wishful thinking or can the scientific method possibly provide an answer? In this book Dr. Richheimer explores the considerable scientific evidence that some children and adults have detailed and verifiable memories of their past lives, and argues that people with exceptional talents and genius may have retained these abilities from previous lives. ESP, out-of-body, near-death, and mystical experiences, as well as numerous other phenomena in which the mind affects the physical body indicate that mind cannot be reduced to brain activity. This is consistent with the idea that we possess a nonphysical aspect of our being (soul) that can survive death. Experiments in quantum physics suggest that consciousness is “king,” not matter, since consciousness is required before a quantum particle can emerge into the physical realm. Reincarnation is consistent with the idea that the ultimate goal of human existence is to attain union with God, since this could take more than one lifetime.

Well set out which answers most of the questions a Christian would ask to overcome the unknown.
Certain aspects such as returning possibly in some form of animal life, finding it as very strange, as man is made up of mind and brain, and the brain dying at end of period and the mind/spirit/soul , what ever you wish to call the reoccurring life force returning, seems impossible through an animal, who are mainly comprise of as to my mind a spirit, with a survival instinct.
Further animal are kill by the millions as a food source, then our planet would be overrun with humans ?
Otherwise a fascinating read.

One of the best book I hace read in many years

To begin with, I consider the writer of this book a very inteligent person. It cover so many subjects about spirituality in such a good way that it is impresive. I am grateful that I read this book. It is really wonderful.

Science of the afterlife

I think I've read this in a previous life... There's no way to prove conclusively that reincarnation exists but this book makes its point well.

I want to thank the author for taking the time to write this book. Science is on the side of truth and I feel that the author’s summary of the research conducted to discover that truth does not get talked about enough because of the hostility people have when it conflicts with their preconceived beliefs, atheists and religious are both guilty of this bias. A Scientist should confess to be an agnostic, that is a true disposition of an unbiased observer. It’s funny when I discover a scientist making the statement that they’re an atheist because that’s a strong conclusion based on the absence of material evidence. This book at least demonstrates that there’s some trustworthy people in science that are not concerned with popular praise and aren’t so narrow minded as to say they’re atheist.
