Passionate Sci-Fi with a touch of danger and a whole lot of sass.
Cyndi has written about rock stars, vampires, and cat shifters, but she's currently focused on outer space. Her stories are fun, fast-paced, and seriously hot. She has made the USA Today Top 100, and every book in the Outcasts series landed on Amazon's Top 100. She is currently working on Shadowborn Rebellion, a spin-off series set in the Outcasts universe.

REVIEW: 3.75 stars--OVERLORD is the sixth instalment in Cyndi Friberg’s adult, sci-fi OUTCASTS fantasy, romance series. This is the leader of the Outcasts Overlord Kage Razel, and Lady Eza of the Sarronti. OVERLORD can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the series in order as there is an ongoing plot throughout.
SOME BACKGROUND: The humanoid aliens known as Rodytes needed a home and settled on two planets they believed were uninhabited. Without any available mates, the male only Rodytes sent teams of Outcasts to kidnap any and all human females in an attempt to repopulate and find mates for their struggling males but procreation came at a price including the need for genetically matched DNA, a mutual metamorphosis, and magical intervention. A test for compatibility is filed and there may be as many as five males matched to a single female DNA. Outcasts were battle born; their mothers were Bilarrian prisoners forced to breed, with their Rodyte captors, in the hopes of restoring magic to the Rodyte people. To complicate matters, the planet they now inhabit hides a secret deep beneath the planet’s surface, a secret that is determined to take back what once belonged.
Told from several third person perspectives including Kage and Eza OVERLORD follows the building relationship between Rodyte Overlord Kage Razel, and Lady Eza of the Sarronti. The Sarronti is a race of elf-like people who live underground, a people who are preparing to go to war with the Outcasts but not before going to war with their own. In exchange for her nephew’s freedom from the Outcast people, Lady Eza offers herself as a prisoner but a prisoner who will find herself falling for the Outcast’s leader. Enter Overlord Kage Razel, and the man with whom Eza will fall in love. What ensues is the building relationship between Kage and Eza, and the potential fall-out as Lady Isolaund of the Sarronti is determined to take control, at all costs.
The relationship between Kage and Eza is one of immediate attraction. Kage knows Eza is his mate and convincing Eza was straightforward and painless but Eza struggles with placing Kage in danger should the Sarroniti declare war with the people on the surface. As Eza moves between the surface and underground, she will discover that not all is well with the world below. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters. The author has chosen to focus much of the story on the Sarronti people, who are about to integrate into the society above ground.
OVERLORD is an infinitely detailed and intricate story that breaks down the social order and hierarchy of the Sarronti people. At times overwhelming, the amount of information disclosed adds to the ongoing world building including the logic and reasoning of a people whose groupings alienate their own people into castes and status. The premise is revealing and engaging; the romance is captivating and seductive.
Fierce, magically adept, and incredibly powerful overlord of the Outcasts, Kage Razel holds the fate of his people, and the Sarronti elves, in his hands. Lady Eza, the Sarronti noblewoman and secret revolutionary, likewise holds the future of the Sarronti in her grasp. Can she tip the balance of power to her egalitarian reforms of Sarronti government? Dare she trust the magnetically attractive Overlord with her plans, her dreams, and her love? And what of Kage's Outcasts? The Sarronti have been fierce in their war to expel the Outcasts from the planet. Can a Sarronti be trusted? Kage and Eza are magical together - so in love, and so weighed down by their responsibilities - can there be peace for all, and HEA for them? The fascinating machinations and frightful risks keep the plot stirring and the pages turning, while the love story adds heat and spice. Author Cyndi Friberg's remarkable world-building comes full-circle, back to the events on Ontariese that started it all in the climactic conclusion to the Outcasts series. - an ARC review
This sci-fi romance gets very in-depth. Political take overs, spies, fighting to the death and plenty of romance. An alien world where the outcasts thought they could live on. But no one expected that there were inhabitants that would fight them. The inhabitants have their own problems as war is soon to happen. Will the outcasts stay back or become part of it? Anything seems to be possible in this story and finding love is always a pleasant surprise.
I read the whole series straight thru and now I’m sad it’s over! If you like sci-fi romance with plenty of action, suspense and smoking hot romance??? You will love the Outcasts! Kage is my new book boyfriend! The “Outcasts” are stand-alone romances but you will get more enjoyment if read in order. Enjoy!!!😜
What can I say .... Kage is the overlord and Eza is the leader of the rebellion. She wants and craves the passion that Kage can give her but can she trust him when he is hiding secrets that could affect her world?? To find the answers to these secrets read the book.

I’ve loved every book in this series, each one a joy to read. Learning about the outcasts, and their fight for freedom and getting an introduction to a new race, has been exciting. I‘ve wanted Kage‘s story from book one and this one was definitely worth the wait. I highly recommend this series to everyone who loves Warrior alpha males fighting for the love of their mates, and feisty independent women who don’t make it easy for them.

I admit, I slightly procrastinated reading Overlord, simply because I knew it was the last, I should have had more faith in Cyndi! Loved that Overlord found his match and wow what a match in Eza, both in strength and wit! Love them as a power couple and I so can’t wait to find out if they have kids, dang, that will be interesting!!! Had to read Kage and Ezas story twice, yep I loved it, and I think as winter approaches, I’m gonna have to re-read the series from start to finish! With that being said, yep I recommend reading for your pleasure and yes it has a HEA!

The story of overlord Kage Razel marks the culmination of the outcast series and Ms Friberg proceeds to do it in fantastic style. If you’ve been following the series then you had already met Lady Eza Alonov, the elf-like Sarronti female working to change the ways of her society and bring about change who traded herself for her nephews freedom from overlord Kage. If you have not been following the series I suggest you get the other books and read them in order as it will make following through not only more exciting but also less confusing.
Now it had subtly been made apparent that there was a spark between Kage and Eza in the books leading up to now and in book six, the spark comes to a rip roaring blaze. This book is thrilling and fast paced from beginning to end with espionage, battles, political coups (spoiler hint) and a surprising new start that will have all the fans cheering once you reach the end. When Torak Payne, Kage’s second-in-command is almost dead at the end of book 5 from Eza’s bold gamble to eliminate her brother General Alonov, the head of the Sarronti military to bring about her wanted revolution on Saronti Prime, it’s revealed that she is way more powerful than Kage originally realized. Now if there is to be peace with the Sarontis it’s clear that an alliance was necessary.
Alliance now in place the two openly explore the alliance of the body, heart and soul possible only to mates as Kage knew quite clearly that the two of them could not deny the mating pull they both felt from the start. Kage Razel the outcast leader that had been a mystery to most thus far(I had been plotting theories by book 3)is revealed to us with roots reaching all the way back to the battle born series and even the previous stand alone releases introducing us to the concept of the war brides and the gruesome Operation Hydra. All this creates a feel of coming full circle which if you’re an avid reader should make you read all the books leading up to this explosively dramatic ending to the series.
I received a complimentary download of this book through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. All opinions expressed here are completely my own and sincerely given.
Overlord Kage Razel narrowed his gaze and watched Lady Eza Alonov, a tiny, elf-like Sarronti female worked to ease the suffering of Torak, a massive Outcast warrior and Kage’s second-in-command. He had let them reactivate his cybernetic implants which had saved hundreds, perhaps thousands of lives, but at tremendous cost to him. The withdrawal from the chemicals produced by the integrated tech in his body was agonizing. Eza’s brother, General Cagor Alonov, was head of the Sarronti military she knew he was just looking for an excuse to attack the Outcasts, disgruntled mercenaries, who had settled on Sarronti Prime. He didn’t want peace nor an alliance with them.
Lady Eza and Kage discover rather quickly that they are mates, both feeling the strong attraction and wanting more. But Kage has to deal with his past and Eza has concerns about the rebellion and what danger it puts Kage in. Who can be trusted? What is Kage hiding? And just how far will Lady Isolaund of the Sarronti go to get the control she seeks?
My starting with Book 6 initially made it a bit difficult to figure out all the players and the action going on but, once I caught on, the book was thoroughly enjoyable. (I had purchased the other 5 but had not read them yet, which I intend to rectify as soon as I can!) Fast-paced and exciting, the book explored the different groups and their interactions with each other. Action on all sides will keep the reader in suspense until it all plays out. Grab your copy and see how all the threads unravel!
I certainly enjoyed reading this intriguing, suspenseful alien romance; it caught my attention and kept it until the last page was turned. I found the story-line & plot well-thought out & written. The unique characters are emotional strong individuals & interesting with different sides to their individual personalities, the secondary characters play good supporting roles. There is: a Rodyte Outcast Overlord (Kage Razel), a female Sarronti (Ezalondra aka Eza Alonov), Eza’s brother (General Cagor Alonov), a devious female Sarronti (Lady Isolaund Farr), humans, a secretive elf-like species (Sarronti), twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, potential alliance, some humor, magic, secrets, adventure, action, danger, enemies, threats, deceit , betrayal, attacks, conflict, violence, political issues, suspicions, verbal disagreements, manipulations, compromises, frustrations, challenges, attractions, emotional turmoil, devious plans, memories, trust, declaration, love, mates, intimate steamy scenes & a well-deserved happy conclusion.
This is the final book in the Outcast series, but it appears that we may be getting a spin-off, Yeah!!!! Lady Eza and Kage discover that they are mates. But there are issues with them coming together. Kage has issues with his past and Eza has the rebellion to be concerned about. We learn more about who Kage is and what he is hiding. Eza must figure out who she can trust and who she can't. Betrayals are discovered everywhere she looks thanks to Isolaund. I was tremendously impressed with this series. It was complicated because it not only had the human and Outcast conflict and mating but added in the Sarronti civil war as well as the Sarronti wanting the humans and outcasts to leave their planet. There were lots of different magical and technological powers that were portrayed in these books. I will be reading more by this author as soon as they come out. This is the sixth book of this sci-fi series and finally, it's the overlord's turn to find his own happy ever after. I have read the other books in the series and have been waiting patiently and wondered who the author could possibly have in mind as a fitting mate for the noble leader of the Outcasts. A perfect choice and a most fitting mate for the powerful leader of the Outcasts. Kage and Lady Eza are more than mates and lovers. They are the catalyst behind the final confrontation with their now mutual enemy. This whole series has been an epic journey and I highly recommend it, each and every book in the series! Enjoy!

This was my first time reading a book by Cyndi Friberg and it was amazing!!! The plot, story, word and character building were off the charts. The book grabbed me and kept my interest form beginning to end. It had such awesome characters with action, turbulence, drama, suspense, betrayal, twists, turns, friends, magic, love, passion and romance. If you love alien romance with lots of suspense, intrigue and romance than this is a must read for you and it will not disappoint. I can't wait to read more form this author!!!

I was expecting to see a bad - ass overlord instead I got a love sick puppy! So frustrating to have the instant love with no struggles for dominance that we would expect from the Overlord . Did not enjoy the plot being all about the Sarronti although I do understand setting up for the next series. Got three stars because the plot was original and well written just wanted it to be about the Outcasts which it definitely was not. This being said I do love this author, the Battleborn series was epic and I did enjoy the other Outcasts book. I will read the next book ‘Slayer’ because he seems like my kind of hero. A bad-ass.
this was a satisfying conclusion to the series arc as well as for the couple featured. was nice to finally learn more about the mysterious Kage -- both his past & abilities. Eza had some secrets of her own that came to light. watching them balance their responsibilities and desires, uncover & reveal each other's and their own secrets, and find a balance leading to HEA while the back drop of intrigue btwn the 2 different societies unfolded made for an enjoyable read for start to finish.

I find this series addictive. The world of the Outcasts and their abilities makes for a compelling read. Add in the Sarronti and you have an intense suspense filled romance. At times it is very hot but very tastefully written and adds dimension to the story. Seth's hair was a big surprise and the soul bond fits the story so well. The ending left a smile on my face. Highly recommend this book.
This is book 6 to the Outcasts and it’s the conclusion to this series, I haven’t read all of the books to this series but this one can be read as a standalone it’s well written with a great plot and characters and this is Lady Eza’s and Kage’s story. There’s action, danger, suspense, betrayal, passion, sexy times and so much more to keep you entertained and turning the pages, a fantastic story and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
Cyndi Friberg never fails to deliver a scrumptious story. There are great characters, passion, action, betrayal, misunderstanding. Actually life in a book story. Eza and Kage are trying to find a truce and establish their relationship. Not only do they need to work on their relationship they also have to do what's best for their people. I loved the ending. Thanks you Cyndi for another outstanding book. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Well, Kage finally gets his mate here. And of course she's someone equal to him. Eza has been working hard to change Sarronti and is the leader of the rebellion there. And she may be slightly more powerful than Kage. Hahaha. Which was fun to watch. Sad that this is the end of this series. Reading about Kage makes me want to revisit the author's other series again.
I received a copy of the book for my honest review.
Awesome story. I love it. I always thought that the Overlord was more than he let on. I was right (happy dance). I love the way this author thinks. She has a way that makes you feel as if you are there in person. It makes the story so real, I love it. There is excitement, danger, scary times and hope. I hope to see more of this series. I would love to see how things progress. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a honest review.
Overlord was a fast paced, steamy, sci-fi adventure full of magic, suspense, and a fantastic cast of characters. Betrayal, sacrifice, corruption, intrigue, justice, acceptance, self-forgiveness, survival, friendship, hope, and love were some of the underlying themes encountered as Kage and Eza combine forces to aid the rebel cause. This was the 1st book I’ve read in this series, and now I can’t wait to read the rest.
I received a free copy of Overlord, but that did not affect my review.
I enjoyed reading this book, it has a good storyline. The book is entertaining and filled with action and intrigue. The chemistry and interaction between the characters, Eza and Kage is wonderful. I can't wait for more from this author. I received this book as a FREE copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
Kage is an Outcast. Actually the leader of the group that landed on Eza’ planet. Eza is the leader of the rebellion. When she agrees to be Kaye’s hostage for the release of her nephew, they discover the have feelings for each other. But how can this be? Can they win the rebellion and overthrow her evil brother? Only reading the book will tell!
I've enjoyed every Outcast story from begining to end. In fact, all Cyndi Friberg's books are brilliant. Kage and Eza's story was exciting, dramatic and thoroughly enjoyable and I'm looking forward to Malik's story very much.
