“I can’t find him.” The woman in front of Sheriff Tom Braverman can only repeat this sentence over and over again. “I can’t find him.”
Needing to find some way to communicate with the distraught woman, Tom calls in Mia. With Jesse’s help, Mia enters the woman’s mind to discover that the woman’s child is missing and her mind is possessed.
Quickly, the local law enforcement and the Excelsior child protection squadron is mobilized to find this lost child.
Mia has no way of knowing that this is just the first of the lost children she will encounter. There will be three, lost on three different continents. One has been spirited away, another has run off and become lost in the woods, and the last has gone on a quest that has taken him far from the watchful eyes of his mother.
Join Mia who, along with her friends and family, finds more than the lost children; she also finds the lost child within herself.
“Lost Child” is the 29th book of the “Haunted Series.”
My idea of a great vacation is a porch swing, view of the water and a pile of books to read. Once upon a time… I wonder if those words spoken to, or read for the first time, were the catalyst for the spark that lit the fire within us. To write and tell a story the way each of us does is a gift and a responsibility. We sometimes toil hours with an idea, or even just one sentence, not knowing if anyone beyond us will ever read our words. We do it for love. The love of bringing to light the world that resides inside our heads. It does not matter if we have a happy ending or a soulful gasp. What matters is that we put these thoughts on paper. So keep writing my friends. Keep taking us to the secret corners of your mind. Be brave. Tempt fate and above all enjoy.
29 books in and I still devour each book in this series like it may be the last. I love each of our existing characters, but I love it just as much when new folks are brought into the story...and I love it even more when we get to see characters we think we have figured out show us some new depth/growth or a twist. This book has all of that and more!
I also love that while Mia still is one of the most forgiving beings (sometimes to a fault!), she is taking Ed's advice to stop feeling like she needs to explain herself and apologize all the time.
I also really enjoyed some of our favorite character quirks being woven into the story (Varden and his socks....and don't even get him started on chickens, LOL!). This book had it all- humor, love, adventure, betrayal, redemption....and, as always, the reminder that home is TRULY where the heart is. Cannot wait for the next adventure Alexie brings us!!
Lost Child is the latest adventure into all things Martin, and it did not disappoint. Alexie Aaron has a unique way of breathing life into her characters in such a way that they are no longer characters but rather members of your family. Each new book introduces new additions to the Martin Clan, while renewing ties with old friends. My heart still has a soft spot for Mike, the naughty boy. And (spoiler alert) I'm wondering if Leonid will become the new man who knows a man who knows...well, you get the picture. Alexie Aaron, PLEASE have Mia and Ted adopt me!!! Thanks for sharing your talent with us all...and I have one question: when will Book 30 appear?! Thanks again for a great adventure!!!
Another fun trip through the stars with Mia and Ted and the whole gang. The interwoven Greek mythology and angelic Creatures in this fantasy world make For 1 fun ride. You can't help but enjoy this group of people and the love they all share and wish to be a part of it. I only wish we had more ghost stories as we did in the beginning but this series never fails to enchant and deliver On Adventure.
I have been a fan up until now because book 28 wasn't great either. It used to be just good paranormal stories and now It all about how Mia is fighting off every male she knows, and no not in the literal sense, but she is wanted by every male that comes close to her. Just way off course. Even the supporting characters are not nearly as important as before when the books were about the PEEPS crew.
This book gave me more insight into several members of Mia's clan. Also, the ghostly aspect was spooky but so interesting. I loved the development of Brian and Varden. I look forward to learning more about the new clan member too. The author's consistancy in character building, and canon makes each story full and ready for the next one. As a long time reader of Alexie Aaron I'm ready for more.
Just when I think this series will surely jump the shark...it doesnt. Lost Child is so bold in the story telling, and so complex with the plots, sub pots, and sub-sub plots, Wow what a great book! Hat is off to Mia, Ted and the PEEPS for a great adventure and for Alexis Aaron and her masterful telling of the tale!!!
Lost Child . Just one? I am a long-time fan of the Haunted series. I love that the characters are evolving through each novel. Now Mia and Ted's children are evolving personalities and are taking their place in the Haunted community and that community is growing. I can't wait to see what happens with all of the characters.
I absolutely loved this addition to the series. Alexie has once again given us a solid book with wonderful characters. Lost Child doesn't just refer to one child, but to several. I love how the title is always used as a part of multiple stories. Keep up the great work Alexie!
I'm her number one fan! I love everything Alexis writes and have given each book of this series five stars. This book has a super story line. Read this book or any of the other twenty eight in the series and you will be hooked. Lost child is a special story that needs read by everyone. SO MAKE IT YOUR NEXT READ!
I love to read and I love this author! She draws you into the characters and makes you love and care for them as a real person, have been following this crazy, funny loving family and will continually and happily follow for as long as she will write about them.Waiting anxiously for the next book!!
The emotional rollercoaster this book put me through was so very worth it. Mia is and always will be a hero to me. Thank you AA for another winner! Really wish someone would make this series into a t.v. series or movie series.
I have read everything this author has written and will continue to do so. I loved this one. I totally did not see the ending coming. Can't wait for the next one!
I always love the haunted series. This book is just so good. I love the big heart that Mia has for all children and that she wants to help. The story gives so much more in depth detail about Mia’s relationship with the other characters. It’s a great read!!
I am addicted to this story. I can't wait for the next. Each book develops the characters a little more and makes the next book more interesting. I always read several times while waiting the next book. Lillian abeyta.
I love the addition of Cristian to the family but will miss Mike now that he and Mia have returned to being friends. This one was truly out of this world. I think I will miss the blue wings though.
Another fabulous story from Alexie Aaron. I love this series with all my heart, and I genuinely feel lost when I finish one of her books, and can't wait for the next in the series.
I've read and loved every single one and waited impatiently for the next. I'll just re read them, because I always find something that I've missed the first time around. I can't thank you enough for inventing this fantastic world for me to escape into.
I don't know how she does it but this is another great read! I loved the meeting of new and old character but in a new story. She keeps the entertainment going through out the book. Can't wait for the next installment of of Mia and the gang.😍
Angels both heavenly and fallen. 3 list children...only 1 of them human. Blackmail, kidnapping, attempted rape, love, lust, a lost friend returns to sanity....the world nearly ends again..Mia has a new friend or two. All ends well with a lot of help after a !it of near catastrophes...the bad woman gets her comeuppance...ni, it's not Mia..she's the hero!
