After Ashling parted ways with her sister, Constantine, she made her way southwest to Arizona. Within the town of Marble Canyon the trouble that followed the elements through the streets of Brooklyn raises its head to target her.
Amongst the chaos of a new home and the threat of capture, she finds herself mixed into petty human problems that never occurred to her in her old life. She soon learns that getting involved with the Wolfe family will only lead to more complications in her already hectic life. What more could possibly befall her and what could the brooding youngest son of this Navajo family do to change her view on the life she has come to live on Earth?
Rosetta M. Overman lives in Central North Carolina and got her start at writing for the public on the eBook community Wattpad. She is terrible at writing these biographies, but invites you to ask questions if you like.
I LOVED “Tidalwave” and wanted to see what happened next in this series. Ash, Constantine’s cousin, is in hiding and has been sent to Arizona. This starts with a hilarious fish out of water scene as Ash tries to get her bearings and navigate her way into lodgings and a shower. (I would so look like that.) She finds refuge with a Navajo family and starts work at a diner, finding herself embroiled in everyday human drama as she hides out from the people who are after her and would seek to exploit her powers.
But as this story slowly unfolds, and we begin to learn the truth about her past, reality becomes a lot more complicated. Rosetta Overman weaves a rich world that is both fascinating with dual timelines, star-crossed lovers and repressed memories, and also terribly lonely. I ached for Ash some of the scenes with her family, which I won’t detail to avoid spoilers… but suffice it to say, there aren’t happy memories there, and she doesn’t have a support system she can turn to.
The gradual unfolding of things with Shiloh as romance blossomed was a treat to read, the fight scenes were awesome, and as we got into the last quarter of the novel, and events ramped up, I was on the edge of my seat. Some interesting revelations and I will look forward to seeing where this goes in book three!

This was a new series to me, but as soon as I picked up Tidalwave, I wanted to read the rest of the series. Firestorm picks up right where Tidalwave leaves off, but tells Ashling's story in Arizona. The gods are still keeping their distance and only getting involved when necessary. Visions of the past are slowly trickling in for Ashling and danger is everywhere. There are still people out there looking to kidnap the elementals and harness their power for destruction.
I really love this series and this is a great continuation of the series. There is a preview for the next book at the end and I read it before I closed the book. I'm going to have to pick up the next book in the series when I can
