❤️❤️❤️

Even though it ended. There is a little opening for a follow up. I love Staten 🥰. I am so glad he found out about Chanel whorish tail. Gyson is a fighter for real and Free, I just love her vibe. Priest 2 wild ass nieces need a whooping. Kiki will be good with Justice, who is real woman.

How are they making so many bad decisions when they have unlimited resources and wealth? So, where is Love? Smh 🙄😒 Priest dropped the ball with raising those girls. I just didn't like this storyline. Smh! I just can't get over the whole Maliah being cool with Staten going back to Liberty. I just wanted Maliah to take Liberty out. There I said it. LOL

This series in all was good and messy! But I can honestly say I didn’t like a single character except for Ghost.

I really almost dnf when Staten and Maliah got together because he literally watched that girl grow up and then took her virginity. GRANTED she was 21 and was the one to pursue him but that gave me a NASSSSTTYYYY taste in my mouth about him. Then to get her pregnant???!

Priest cheating on Justice while she was in labor LITERALLY made me cry. He did allllll that just to be like every other man in her life. TRASH! I’m really happy she stood on business bc lord knows how she was with Todd.

Free was just annoying and selfish the entire series.

Liberty…was meh. Addiction is hard but lord was she selfish and always going off on people for checking on her. I really didn’t want her and Staten to end up together bc he did treat her like she was too fragile vs her man. He also never stood up to Chanel. She also told him Maliah wanted him and he played stupid.

Overall, the storyline was good but I really did not the characters.

Meh

I wish the series had ended on book three. Liberty went through the wringer and still ended up with Staten with a baby mama. How is that a prize 🤔🤔 He continuously placed Chanel in front of her and clueless to what she was doing. He never took Chanel’s key away. Staten himself wasn’t a stand up guy because he played in Liberty’s face and pretended as if he wasn’t aware that Maliah liked him. Then when they were in Belize he admitted to her that he knew she liked him all along. Then immediate slept with her unprotected, mind you. So no Staten was not a prize.

Loved this entire series!!!!!

From the beginning up until the end Jahquel took me down through it! I loved to hate the Davis’s and the McGurry’s but I’d be lying. With all the ish that happened, it was several times I wanted to write myself in and slep a few of these characters but also love it down! Jahquel you did your thing with this series!

This series was so messy and chaotic! From book one it was nothing but drama, lies, & secrets. My mouth was always on the floor because my flabber was gasted.

Free was very judgmental & SELFISH and thought she was perfect out of her sisters. I don’t know who I couldn’t stand more her, Kiss, or Chanel. I am happy that ghost beat cancer and gets to enjoy time with his family. That man deserves the world. He did have me side eyeing him in book 1 having Free make drops for him. I’m glad for their happy ending.

Liberty was also selfish but I hated how she felt so alone facing her demons. Staten came in and never left that girl side. I’m so happy liberty met Ty & he opened her eyes on choosing her why. I don’t feel bad for Staten about the Chanel situation bc he should’ve listened to everyone. I am happy that Maliah is a much better woman to co parent with. Maliah was such an understanding woman and I can’t wait for her to find her better half. I’m glad her twin made her realize she was accepting the bare minimum from Staten grown a**.

Justice growth throughout this series was amazing to watch. I’m so happy she decided to pick herself for once. Even when it came to her sisters. She stood on business leaving Priest alone. Cheating is definitely a choice & I’m glad she knew her worth. Priest was a good man but a terrible spouse & yes because he chose to cheat while she was their daughter. As for them nieces of his, it would’ve been belt to a**!

I hope Chanel have the life she deserves 😂

Jah’s pen game is 🔥🔥🔥

Wedding Bells

I’m finally done with this series

What A ride! I always knew that Chanel was shady, he true colors finally surfaced. Liberty is facing her Demons and will finally get help. Staten & Maliyah will always remain hommies. Messiah doesn’t play when it comes to her daughters, will she forgive Staten?

Awesome Series

whew!!!!!! certified chaos

Whewww baby… it’s only the beginning of December and I have ATE these books up!!! Jahquel had me stressed, shocked, annoyed, happy — my blood pressure was doing the Cha-Cha Slide 😩😂

One thing about Jah? She drags you ALL the way in then cuts you off mid-gasp… but since the whole set is out, I binged straight through so the cliffhangers didn’t even touch me this round. 🙌🏾

Here’s the gist without giving away ANY tea: we’ve got three brothers (two by blood, one by bond) and three sisters — and every single one of them comes with the sh*ts. Add in a whole roster of side characters you must keep track of because everybody plays a role and Jahquel does NOT waste a soul.

Drama unfolds between them all—alliances, betrayals, and the consequences of everybody’s choices starting to crash into each other. Expect love, pregnancies out the yin yang, addiction, health scares, infidelity, murders, loss, hustling, and that real hood urban fiction energy that will have you yelling “WTF?!” every other chapter. Everything spirals, truths come out, and the stakes get REAL. Everyone’s storylines STAY in motion and the chaos is premium. The M&Ms who ride for Jah know we had to make a whole thread just to keep up with the chaos.

It’s stressful but entertaining AF because you have to keep on keeping on to see what the hell could possibly be next. And honestly? This series is 5 stars EASY. The way Jahquel’s pen moves — juggling all these characters, weaving these connections, tying storylines together so tight — it’s impressive as hell.

A TIME. WAS. HAD. 👏🏾🔥

Great read

Free, Liberty and Justice had been through so.much and learning to love the right man wasn't easy. Free was reunited with her first love and father to her twins Ghost. Satin has fallen hard for Liberty but she had serious issues. Priest was smitten by Justice but let his past cloud his judgement. That ending was everything.

I loved this series would love to hear about how the couples doing

Free and Ghost went thru so many trails and tribulation from losing his daughter and beating cancer. To having a son with a heart defect the Davis family went thru the storm and came out fighting. Justice and Priest went thru their own storm their daughter was born early and was in the NICU for a minute. Priest cheated on Justice with his ex- girlfriend when she was giving birth to his daughter Yazmine. Priest nieces are is world Kiss has a son and thinks someone suppose to take care of her now she pregnant with Resee baby. Love is out of control and showing her tail and thinks she grown. Kiki was bullied at school and tried to commit suicide this is a serious matter parents please keep up with your children and pay attention. Justice found her sister overdosed in her apartment that a cry for help and it has put a strain on their relationship but their talking more. Liberty has relapse on almost died she is trying to get her life in order and focus more on family and the love of her life Staten. Liberty was engage to marry Ty he was always traveling and never their she quit her job he never met Chance. Liberty realized she love Staten and want to make it work when she had a dream about almost losing him after his niece Summer and Staten were shot. Staten found out that Satin was not his daughter Chanel trifling self sleep with someone else and was using him to support her lavish life style from her best friend so selfish. He can never forgive her for for that. Staten and Maliah had a handsome baby boy are co-parent aren't together remain good friends she knows he loves Liberty and let him go that a grown women. They all get along a coexist and maintain a health environment. Love this series great author

In the gripping finale of this captivating series, the characters face their most profound struggles, keeping readers on the edge of their seats. Messiah stands at a crucial juncture, potentially endangering her relationships with her daughter and husband. Has she gone too far, or is this part of her intricate game?

Staten's turmoil intensifies as he navigates his feelings for Liberty, all while fulfilling his roles as a father to Chanel's daughter and supporting a pregnant Maliah. The weight of his responsibilities adds significant depth to his character.

Justice's journey is heart-wrenching, as her dream day becomes a nightmare. With her past traumas resurfacing, she must decide if Priest can redeem himself—or if she must walk away for good.

Liberty’s fight for survival raises the stakes: Will Staten come rushing to help, or will he finally respect her request for space? Meanwhile, Ty's growing affection for Liberty complicates matters, leaving readers questioning the future of their relationship.

Free’s struggles with Ghost and Samoor heighten the emotional intensity, testing her resolve as she strives to keep her family intact.

This finale masterfully intertwines raw emotion and real-life challenges, delivering a powerful narrative about love, resilience, and the choices that define us. It's a must-read that will resonate long after the final page!

This is the perfect conclusion to the Davis family. Three sisters, Freedom, Liberty and Justice are juggling businesses, careers, motherhood and relationships. Free has a house full of kids (including Samoor and his heart condition) and Loco’s illness. Liberty is still battling her addiction, but this time the players have changed. Will she be able to look past Staten’s flaws and work it out or will she ride off in the sunset with Ty? The outcome didn’t shock me at all. Justice must determine how she’s going to co-parent with Priest, the love of her life, that served her the ultimate betrayal on one of the most important days of her life.

The men have just as much drama as the women, but Staten is the one that pissed me off the most. How can you get your heart back after having a baby with your best friend AND getting Messiah’s daughter pregnant?

This was my introduction to the @jahquel_ catalog, and I can’t believe it took me this long to get into. I highly recommend this series.

Finale

Ghost and Free - love the way they love each other and try to carry one another through life together. They went through some struggles and they were able to overcome together.
Justice and Priest - Justice stood ten toes down with Priest and his betrayal. Priest definitely had an eye opener and changed instantly. He’s trying though. I like his accountability in his actions.
Staten and Liberty - although they love each other they both need to be single for a while and work on themselves. They both have unresolved issues cuz why are you okay with making babies with women you’re not in love with or a relationship with. Settle down with yourself for a minute. Liberty was setting herself up for failure. She was not healed from her addiction long enough to engage in another relationship. She needed to focus on getting better.

Davis Family 5

Book 4 had them all taking 10 steps back.

Chanel's deceit is not a surprise.

Liberty and Staten......they way he he would call her out her name in reference to her vice, would make you think he had "thick skin" but no, he wanted love and to he loved.

Ghost and Free, besides all of their trials, my girl said, you gonna do something with this special lemonade....lol. and did...he woke her up out her sleep....lol

Justice and Priest, im not mad at her at all. She should have made him walk for a slice of cheesecake from Junior's.

Poor Kiki, Priest was nice, cause his skills should have done the talking.

The series is a good one, but these characters had me on edge. I was sure someone was gonna have more than a baby, the way they were getting physical with no protection.

I really enjoyed this!

Some things that were revealed I figured out early on. I was so glad Ghost put a ring on it! Staten and Liberty were meant to be, Justice and Priest hopefully will mend their broken relationship. Chanel proved to be the lying conniving chic I knew she was! Lavern was crazy! Maliah was pretty cool! This novel touched on so much, cancer, infidelity, sickness, grief, drug addiction and healing. It was a testament that things can and will turn around and even when it rains the sun will shine again! A good editor was needed for this whole series as there were grammatical errors, incorrect words, the proper use of some words in all of the books, but a great series!

we made it!

Okay, I am so happy that everything and everyone is finally coming together. It was hilarious because I literally caught myself thinking, “When are Free and Ghost going to get married?” and boom, next scene, it happens!

I’m relieved Liberty didn’t go through with marrying that man. The whole situation felt off from the start, but honestly, he came into her life at the exact moment she needed someone to help push her toward getting clean. Addiction is a lifelong recovery journey, and she needed that turning point.

Now, Staten… he had me heated. Acting like Liberty was the problem, gaslighting her, then turning around and sleeping with Maliah and getting her pregnant? Boy, please. And Chanel? Whew, not surprised at all.

Outstanding Series

Yo, this series had me on a rollercoaster! Liberty's journey was like watching a phoenix rise from the ashes of addiction, but her fam? Total shade-throwing squad. Justice, I'm looking at you - talk about zero support vibes. Despite everyone's drama, she crushed her demons and reunited with Staten, who low-key had his own mess but somehow dodged the accountability bullet. When Ghost finally rang that bell, it was like watching a mic drop moment that hit right in the feels. Major props to Liberty and her resilience! Jahquel J's next masterpiece? I'm already buckled up and ready to ride this literary wave. 💥🔥

Whewwww!!!

So happy that this book didn’t go the way I thought it would when I started book 4! But boy did it take me thru so many emotions. Priest had me wanting to push him over the bridge. Laverne-really?? I can sympathize with why he had the connection to her but dang. To do the love of your life like that??
And Liberty and Staten made me wanna wring both of their necks!!! The addiction and pushing everyone away? Your virgin 21 year old coworker??? Ughhhh they gave me a headache!!
Jahquel, you know how to tell a story miss mama!!

I think this is the end…

Unless the author decides to write a book 6 and blow up everything again. But on a serious note, this is a much better final book than Book 3 was. The amount of personal growth all the characters went through in this book was tremendous. Did I wish for a more prolonged epilogue from different perspectives, yes. But overall I can’t complain we got our happy endings for all the people we cared about. Another rollercoaster ride of a series from this author.

Free & Justice can be so exhausting. It’s almost as if they think their lives are perfect. I understand they’re concerned about Liberty but my God. I’m happy that they were able to make some progress towards the end.

Chanel got exactly what she deserved with her trifling self. I couldn’t stand that girl.

I have so much respect for Maliah. To be that young and be so sure and self aware is refreshing.

Love that Ghost & Free finally took that step. About time!

Lavern was unhinged and will forever be unhinged. Like girl, what was the reason??!

🔥finale

This book bought everything together. I was wondering if Satin belonged to Staten and when momma told him to go brush his teeth I knew she felt the same way. Happy Liberty got herself together for herself first and was able to stay clean. They would always say if it's meant to be set it free and God will make it so it comes back, they deciding to get counseling was a positive step and being able to be mature with Staten having a child showed growth. Laverne and Shanell were both crazy. Great read

Wow, page turner for sure; I could not put the book down after completing book4

This read kept you interested and definitely wanting to know, what happens next. I read a lot of Jahquel J’s books and thought 4 was a little different from her previous books, but for sure a good different. Jahquel never disappoints, this is a must read! She has so many new audiobooks as well and they have all been Amazing so check them out as well.

This series had me EVERYWHERE! I love the way it ended. Liberty and Staten had me about to lose my mind. Chanel is the worse person in the world. I loveeeeee Freedom and Ghost😍😍 I’m so happy they ended up together. Priest can literally go on somewhere. I really was riding with him until he completely f’d Justice over. I’m still mad about it. She did NOT deserve that. Overall, I absolutely loved this series.

Unnecessary

So after the initial finale it was said, I introduced new characters but didn’t give them a story” or something to that affect. Meanwhile these last 2 additions were still about the same characters.

Ghost was the only character with character. Priest too sort of but he pissed me off with that sucka behavior. That being said these last two books were pointless in the context of “new characters” getting shine.

Whooooo. Ok this series stressed me out but nonetheless I enjoyed it. It was my first read by Jahquel J and I wasn’t at all disappointed. I think she could’ve wrapped it up in 4 but that’s my opinion personally. This was a beautiful/rollercoaster ride of a story with a set of sisters, brother and their kids. She took us on a ride through Staten Island and the ruff ryders that occupy and reside on the island. We start off shaky and uncertain with the sisters and brothers but finished strong.
