Throughout my childhood, I experienced the joy of being surrounded by nature, the vivid colors of aromatic flowers and fruit trees blossoming each spring and summer, the exuberant beauty of sweet-scented roses, petunias, carnations, lilies, daffodils, dazzling lilacs, tulips, and red poppies.
I quickly became fond of the gracefully fluttering butterflies, red and yellow ladybugs, delicate dragonflies, glowing fireflies, the musical lullaby of crickets, fluffy clouds and brilliant rainbows. I have always admired the delicate beauty and tiny details of butterfly wings, rose petals, leaves, shells, and their variety of colors and textures.
The gentle sound of cooing doves, the cheerful chirping of blue swallows, the melodious songs of robins, and the howling wolves at night mesmerized me. The peaceful sight of the wandering and baaing sheep, dashing horses racing against the wind, lively rabbits chasing each other, deer leaping over the flower colored meadows among yellow sunflowers, and the skillful maneuvers of journeying birds filled my heart with wonder and awe.
The glistening stars like millions of tiny lamps illuminating the sky made me dream of another world. Finding God and His love confirmed me that there is another world awaiting for us, full of wonder and joy illuminated by His presence. I am so grateful for Author’s Lounge to share these childhood memories that inspired me to write and illustrate for children.

I received this book through a book drawing and I am so happy I was selected. The illustrations on the pages are so bright and cheerful. I love the detail shown on all the animals while the sentences are short and very descriptive. This is the type of picture book that all teachers, parents and library staff love to have for a read aloud. Thank you for creating this wonderful book for everyone to read.

I was so happy my grandson received this book in time for his late August birthday.
He will be 10 and he still enjoys illustrated whimsical animal fun.
The best part is this book is meant to embrace and enhance celebrations.
This will make a wonderful keepsake to cherish through the years to come.

I see this book a lot - in the bookstore, in the library, even at Target. I always admire the cover - it’s so bright, with bold colors and cute. This is why (judging a book by its cover) I was so excited when my littlest reader wanted to read this.
This is a brilliant birthday message and makes me remember the sheer excitement of exploring the world of exotic animals and the exciting places they lived. The story uses colorful illustrations and a rhythmical storyline that provides a musical and fast-paced feel. Children can identify the various creatures detailed in the book. The characters are loveable and humorous, and the book has wonderful creative illustrations that set out the scenes.
These books can support literacy by encouraging imagination and development of word language and can also inspire creative games, oral stories, and writing in Y1 and lower Y2. The detailed illustrations ensure the story is a visual aid on an interactive whiteboard. This book would also be appropriate for independent reading for developing readers as it has a variety of words that will extend the children’s vocabulary and interests.

I received a copy of this book via a Goodreads giveaway, which I entered hoping for another good read for the kiddo. But I'm perplexed. I'm not certain as to why it was written, what am I to do with it, and what other reviewers see in it that I don't. What I see is a pile of adjectives with no regard to the nouns they belong to. The kiddo had difficulties reading it on his own, and I had difficulties reading it to him with a straight face. Penguins "chirping melodious night songs" have me every time; I just can't help the uncontrollable laughter!
So far, the only thing we could think of is to give it to someone as a birthday "card". Now, only if we could have birthday parties again anytime soon...

This book was received free as a Goodreads First Reads Giveaway win. It is a quite colorful and cute children's book. This is a great book for children and babies who are fascinated with bright colored. With the wide range of animals shown in vivid artwork throughout the book, it is also a good book for introducing young children to animals.
