description

"Hay muchas maneras de amar a un bebé.
There are so many ways to love a baby."

This adorable bilingual book is all about the ways a parent can show their love to their little one.

The illustrations are absolutely fabulous - love the style and the emotions portrayed!

Each page contains a different parent-child pair of animals - from cats to hedgehogs to owls to bears - they're all there.

One thing I noticed is that the parents nor the children aren't gendered. The ambiguity allows for many different families to be portrayed in the book.

AND the text is adorable!

"Acurrucar al bebé.
Snuggle a baby."

Each page contains the Spanish phrase along with the English translation. This feels like a good book to snuggle in and read together before bed.

Also, did I mention that these books are made to be indestructible (or at least close to it) - chew proof, rip proof and machine washable (didn't know that was a thing!).

All in all, I adored this book!

Thank you to the authors and Workman Publishing for sending me a free copy in exchange for an honest review!

Love the texture of this book. It claims it can be chewed on, drooled on, washed...I don't know about washed. I'd have to see it to believe it.

The drawings inside are very cute parent and child animal pairs.

First read to 22 day old baby Oliver on Friday, June 12, 2020

This is the sweetest little book! And once Oliver is old enough to hold and chew on the book himself it’s going to be wonderful that it’s rip and chew proof and washable!

Jack borrowed this book from the Ashland Public Library.

I thought he would love it, because he has liked the other books in this series and is usually a fan of baby animals. But so far, he hasn’t really taken to it. I liked it. It has lots of sweet actions you can take with your baby and adorable animals to learn.

The animals demonstrate all the ways you can show love to a baby: hugs, kisses, and snuggles. We can rock the baby, bounce the baby, and nuzzle noses.

This book is so adorable! All the animal babies are so cute and cuddly.

The writing is very simple, and just right for babies and toddlers learning their first words. The illustrations are bright and colorful, with a cartoony style and simple designs.

The book really does appear to be indestructible. I tried tearing one of the pages, and it wouldn't tear, although it crinkled up a little. I was surprised that the pages are so thin. This is NOT a board book. The pages are made of some kind of thick fiber, and there is no cover or spine. The pages are sewn together into a thin booklet. No wonder they say that babies could chew on it, and it is washable. Without a cover for babies to chew on, and no spine to get torn, the book really is indestructible!

TE AMO, BEBE is a sweet book that describes the "ways to love a baby" such as kissing, hugging, nuzzling, and snuggling. Each page features a parent and baby animal and includes different types of animals such as bears, pandas, pigs, and bunnies. The book is written in Spanish with the English translation underneath, promoting bilingual learning.

What I loved: This is a simple and sweet book about ways to show love. The animals will have appeal to young children, and most (though not all) are anthropomorphized with clothing in a cartoonish way. This is a brightly colored book that children will like to flip through and look at. The bilingual inclusion is really fun and a way to introduce Spanish/English to young children.

This book is part of the indestrucibles series, which is really made for baby to explore. They are safe to chew, easy to clean, and cannot be torn. They also really lightweight which makes them easy to take on the go and for babies to hold for themselves.

Final verdict: This indestructable title is a sweet, bilingual book that features many animals and bright colors. Parents will enjoy the safe and fun design, and babies will love looking at the illustrations.

Please note that I received a review copy from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

This is a cute indestructible book perfect for Valentine’s Day week. Mavis appreciated participating in all of the loving actions contained within.

Moral: There are lots of way to love a baby.

Length: This is a little short… it would have been nice to be loving a bit longer.

Favorite Line: “Nuzzle a baby.”

Overall Impression: Books that turn raccoons into protagonists are not my favorite. I find them to be vile creatures and the one included here looks ready to rummage through your trash. Except for that one page, featuring the grotesque urchin, this is a simple book about the joys of parenting and all the baby cuddles and snuggles you can receive, depicted by baby mammals. Mavis actually tried to nuzzle the rabbits back. Maybe that’s why this book was made to be indestructible… the author just knew kids everywhere were going to hug it.

A very sweet bilingual book geared toward babies/toddlers. I originally thought to use it in speech therapy with a 2 year old. They can chew the pages, bite the pictures, drool on them and you just wipe them off, no able to tear them either. But in light of the current situation and lockdown we will be using the book virtually. Can't wait to see how it does.

The books in this series are great because babies can’t rip the pages. They’re easy to clean and can be bitten without damage to the book. The stories and illustrations are simple. I wish the books were longer.

Favorite of the series. Easy to give motion/meaning to words. An early favorite. Love that it can go through the dishwasher to clean it so it makes it a great book to take into public where it'll probably get dropped on the ground.

This is my favorite of the indestructable books. It's short enough in pages & words per page that my son can stick it out the whole time. It's also very easy to re-inact the actions with your own baby, making it even more engaging.

You can read this in just a couple of minutes but I love taking the time to do the motions listed in the book. My baby like to chew on it and rumple it but he’s never managed to tear it!

I love this book! I read it to my son at least once a day. He's only 6 weeks but I plan to keep this up every day for awhile. I love acting out the book him and he seems to enjoy it. It was easy to memorize, so I decided to quit keeping up with how many times I've read it since it's always been over 5.
