Just about everyone is 'for' development as an assumed 'good', yet few seem to have a concrete idea of what the term actually entails. Development offers a comprehensive and wide-ranging analysis of the various ways in which this important concept has been used in social and political analysis over the past 200 years.

A compromising tell about the development since the second world war. It has a four-star minus for me because it was kind of dry at times.

Good overview to help understand the history of development since WWII. Looks into the dominate theories that have shaped the way development has been implemented.

A good text to begin ID studies with.
