Not Kiss!!!!!
If I thought book one was messy, Staten Island Love Affair 2 came in and somehow raised the stakes even higher. Every secret that was hinted at in the first book starts coming to light, and just when you think the drama can’t possibly get any worse, Jahquel J drops another bomb.
This installment follows multiple storylines, but what I loved most was seeing how each character continued to grow—or spiral, depending on who we’re talking about. Mirror and Orlan had me stressed from beginning to end, especially as they tried to figure out where they stood after so much damage had already been done. Meanwhile, Rucka’s storyline had me fully invested because every revelation seemed to complicate things even more.
One thing Jahquel J does exceptionally well is making every character feel connected. The friendships, family ties, romances, and betrayals all weave together in a way that keeps you turning pages. No one is safe from the fallout, and every chapter leaves you wondering what disaster is waiting around the corner.
I also appreciated seeing some of the characters begin to mature and make better choices—even if others remained committed to making the most chaotic decisions imaginable.
And then there’s the ending.
I genuinely sat there staring at my Kindle because I was not prepared for things to take such a dark turn. The final chapters completely changed the tone of the story and left me desperate to know what happens next.

These endings be getting me man! There’s so much to say but I don’t want to spoil the read. Okay so bottom line I love that my twin girls found love. Rucka’s past love is starting to piss me off because she’s settling for nonsense that she doesn’t even need. Ohhhh baby these characters run a muck in this book here! And it wasn’t the current events but the past events. The book had many high moments but a few low moments as well. I hate the ending of book 2 and how KISS was done. She didn’t deserve that.
For starters Orlan didn’t r*** nobody! Babygirl lied on him and had a federal judge for a dad so they throw the book at him. I don’t like how he held those 2 big secrets from Hudson but it was really Ronnie’s truth to tell. I’m glad that Mirror & he figured it out. I was ready to punch him when Tabbi was at the house but nothing came from it. Mirror hit was low asking if he would harm the baby. She didn’t even ask him what happened so Orlan had every right to spaz out when he never showed you anything else. He should’ve told Mirror.
Ronnie still need her face rocked for shouting that out when he knew one of your secrets! You were so damn selfish and evil. Hudson needs to drag you and be hella disrespectful to your marriage. How you went to his brother wedding and come back pregnant?? Silly hoe! Because of your evilness- you will have to watch Mirror live the life you had. A man who loves her for her!
Hudson- you did nothing wrong besides try to love your wife but she’s a conniving heifer. I would love to see you and Mina work out but you have a road ahead of you. I loved the trip to bali! Made me start to google flights there lol! The group scences took me out. Manic has to be related to Menace. Manic and his intrusive thoughts win everytime. He said Staten and Lib would have crack babies! Then he offered his wife’s Chanel purse ti clear his debt. He stayed on Jah about his limp and cane. Ghost has some jokes too. He stayed on Staten’s neck about Maliah and I’m glad they did!
Myeisha - if you don’t leave Lou and get with Rodger! Lou is living a double life and left you holding the bag. That man is globetrotting around the world while you’re stuck at home with 2 kids! And then he couldn’t step when HIS daughter was violated. Rodger got his issues too but I don’t doubt he’s stepping about his kids. And I bet you are pregnant in the next book!
Rodger- your only flaw was marrying Kenya’s stupid butt! I know book 3 you’re going to cause hell. You’re taking Kyle, Janay was messy and being a hater but I’m glad you know cause I don’t like how she treats My My!

Amazing🔥🔥🔥
Now Jahquel pen game is indeed fire she never disappoints with her series each one captures you and holds you there wanting more or sometimes being frustrated with certain characters. Now Low out doing his own thing but for him to act all look after finding out what his step dad waa doing to his daughter got me thinking maybe he was molested by him as well. I can't wait to see what Rucker going to do about the bomb that waa just dropped.
The streets are about to bleed because mouse has lost his mind first him and his friend rape and.kills Kiss now he shoots the twins, they must not know who their mother is or how she.gets down, I hope they all make it out ok because they just got happy news all for it to end this way.

The drama continues. There’s so much going on I’m not sure where to focus my attention. First of all, Myeisha is giving user- I’m not sure what she’s sticking around with her fiance for- it can only mean that the author has some bombshell she wants to throw in about them. As for Ronnie, she’s the worst and I don’t believe she’ll take her just desserts lying down. Kiss.. I know she’s young but her stupidity can’t solely be attributed to that - I worry about her and the fact that she’s disappeared. The tragic ending cliffhanger…. I’m shook and diving instantly into book 3.

It just keeps getting juicer and juicer and I’m nervous what I’m going to read next. KISS was annoying but I didn’t expect her to die. I wonder how this is going to play out with Priest. This one was probably the heaviest read with all of the drama. Ronnie is a horrible human being and I wish the absolute worse for her.
The last few chapters broke my heart. Why is it that when someone is finally getting their life together, something horrible happens?! Kiss was a lot to deal with but she absolutely did not deserve that. What a horrible experience to go through.

Action Packed!
Well this story just went up a couple of notches. Seems like everybody was acting out. There was so much drama and action. I was waiting for this and I got it! Ooh Messiah gonna be mad. I can't wait. I sure hope part 3_is out because I'm ready for it. My only issue is all these errors.

I love anything Jahquel writes. This series is wild and it has me talking out loud, looking around to see if anyone else just read what I read and having all the emotions surface. This book has so many twists and turns and secrets. I will forever read anything that Jahquel writes. One of my FAVS!!!

I was on the edge of my seat with this book. Ronnie needs her butt whooped. She hateful and bitter. Very triggering on the subject of child sexual abuse, rape and crimes against women. And of course ends in Jahquel’s famous fashion…cliffhanger!! On to next book.
