I found Munia Khan's Fireclay to be an impressive collection, stuffed full of tender, insightful and penetrating poetry. Scott Hastie, Writer and Poet, July 2020 London .
Fireclay is an amazing book of poetry by one of the world’s greatest poetic gems, Munia Khan. Munia’s poems are very insightful, and help me see the world in a different way. Munia’s style is singular as she is able to breathe life into inanimate objects like a train traveling towards its destination. She makes the train seem almost human. From grasshoppers who she envies for mingling with the green, to a flower who likes hummingbirds as bees. Munia’s prospective of life is sometimes whimsical, sometimes somber, but always uniquely her. Fireclay gives us perceptions of the world around us most of us miss. Munia Khan’s poetry in Fireclay, and her other books, opens up a vision of reality that is beautiful, astonishing, and perceptive. I am always amazed when I read Munia’s poetry. She is able to say so much in so few words, teaching us about the wanders of the world around us on the way. Well done, Munia!
