There are bad haircuts, and then there's the bright orange mullet that sits atop Audra Harrison's head:
Outright Disaster
A chastity belt you can wear on your head.
All Audra wants is for the Salon Apprentice to try and fix it. When she refuses Audra has no choice but to write a review warning other New Yorkers away from this over hyped salon. When the salon manages to pull down the review, Audra declares war. It becomes her mission to post pictures of her bad hair on every photo share app she can find. Then her enemy comes for her. Hamish Stuart: the hair whisperer himself. Over six feet of beautifully muscled Scotsman that's used to having supermodels and A list Actresses fall at his feet. Now that he's met her he wants more than apologies. He wants her heart.
I am addicted to Romance, every thing from Jana Aston and her dirty doctors to Kristen Callihan's sports romance to Ruby Dixon's blue aliens, and Sherry Thomas's everything.
I live in Manhattan where you'll probably find me with a coffee cup in my hand.
First time reading this author and it was a okay book i might get another to see if ill read more.. funny and steamy-ish ;)
Poor Audra she only wanted to get her hair dyed.. and well someone at that place screwed the fk up. So she takes to the internet and leaves a review but someone takes it down and fighting to sue her over the phone. Shes not giving up she's taking pictures showing off her horrible do. Until the owner Hamish gets involved and at first he thinks she's lying to ruin him and is fighting back until he learns the truth and tries to get her to forgive him and his conpany and make her his. Cant be to hard. But their is other drama that has Audra pumping the breaks.. and i feel for her because that must be hard to date someone who is pubic famous person.
No om drama tiny ow drama (since he famous he has many woman wanting him or he has clients he takes on dates bussiness wise.) No cheating, slight secondary charas, tiny drama, sexy times, no virgins (both had mentioned their past)

Readers looking for a bit of afternoon delight will get just that with this erotically-charged tale that also put an occasional smile on my face. Add in some playfulness between the main couple, a bit of heart and soul, and readers will feel oh so satisfied by The End. Though this book stands strongly on its own this series revolves around siblings out to find their HEAs in this next installment in the Love in the Apple series and with each turn of the page I fell even harder for sexy Scotsman Hamish Stuart.
From his delicious brogue to his sinful looks to a personality teeming with sensuality, Hamish is the kind of hero you won’t forget about anytime soon. Hamish is a real romantic, a man who believes in insta-love (as seen during his initial meeting with an angry woman), and who longs to pamper the woman who’s unexpectedly captured his heart. He’s drawn to Audra the moment he learns about her background, drawn to her sass, and drawn to strong will in overcoming adversity. All he wants is to make life easier for her...and fixing her hellish hairdo is the first step in their burgeoning relationship. Hamish knows how to make a woman feel good and it led to many scorching interludes during her hair appointment and during his other encounters with her. He’s a master at dirty talk with a talent for empowering a woman’s self-esteem. From the first page to the last he quickly proved himself to be the quintessential book boyfriend and was the highlight of this story.
Audra Harrison grew up in the foster care system and still struggles to make ends meet today. As a reward to herself for a new internship she splurges on a new hairdo at the top hair salon in New York. It turns into a nightmare though as her hair ends up looking like an orange in a blender. Her negative review soon catches the attention of the salon’s owner and sets her on a surprising path to HEA. Audra’s a likable heroine, one who stands up for herself when she knows she’s right. Though life’s been tough for her she’s never asked for help and I admired her for that. She has a funny and supportive friend/roommate who’s an admirable partner in crime and I enjoyed their very believable friendship. I also enjoyed the sizzling connection between her and Hamish. They were sweet and sexy together and I rooted for him to win her over every step of the way. When it comes to matters of the heart though Audra was far less self-assured which frustrated me at times. Hamish proved his devotion to her from the start so her doubts and ignoring his texts were a huge disservice to this near-perfect hero.
On a whole Audra was a likable heroine, but her fears frustrated me at times. Hamish had rightfully earned his place in her heart and by the end she too realized it in this quick read full of scorching interludes and overtly sweet and sensual actions. The story had a nice pace, appealing characters too, but there was a roughness to the writing. There was a rough around the edges feel to the dialogue that gave me a few mental speed bumps along the way. Despite that this was still an enjoyable romance that has me wanting to read the other books in the series too!
This is my first book of this series which can be read as a standalone. I have to admit I'm not a big fan of novellas, but they're starting to grow on me. Case in point, this romantic comedy is very well written with well-developed characters which is hard to do in 80+ pages.
Audra was placed into foster care early in her life working hard to become an independent woman and needing no help from others. She put herself through college and plans to start an internship as a forensic biologist, but disaster strikes. She splurges on a high-end salon in New York and she walks away with an orange mullet. When she asks the salon to fix it, she gets shut down so she declares war and posts a bad review on social media where all hell breaks loose including losing her job.
Hell hath no fury like Hamish Stuart when the future of his famous salon is threatened. However, the hot Scotsman can make magic with hair as well as admit when he is wrong. After some investigation, Hamish realizes the mistake is theirs (a runaway receptionist) and proceeds to give Audra a new makeover in more ways than one.
There are some who believe in love at first sight. My partner being among them. So on his behalf I do believe two people can fall fast for each other as in Hamish's case certainly. With Audra following a little more slowly which is very smart and understandable considering her background. Sometimes you can't hurry love, but sometimes you just have to go for it and see what happens. The supporting characters are a great addition such as Audra's fun and enthusiastic friend, Jesse, and Hamish's loving sister Glenna who gives Audra a job with no questions asked.
Overall, this is a quick and enjoyable read with quirky and fun characters. If you are the type to fall in love quickly, give this romantic comedy a try.
Thank you to Ms. Isaacs for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
Audra Harrison, a forensic biology student, wanted to celebrate after getting the internship she wanted at the top lab in Manhattan. So, she splurged for a make-over in one of the salons owned by the Scottish celebrity stylist, Hamish Stuart. But what she expected to be a fabulous haircut turns out to be a disaster. A huge and screaming one.
With the honest intention of letting the people know that Stuart Salon is not that great, she posts a bad review on the internet; but it is taken down as soon as she’s posted it. And the fact that the apprentice who did her hair is replying meanly to her texts just makes things worse. Talk about good customer service. In her rage, she posts a few hundred photos of her beside a chimpanzee that now looks like her after being “murdered” by the salon. This gets the attention of Hamish himself and it all goes down from there.
Told in alternating points-of-view between Audra and Hamish, this sizzling romantic comedy will make everyone’s hearts light and happy. The chapter headings are unconventional and witty. Several typos are present but they are not that distracting because the readers will be too engaged in this unputdownable book.
Dakota Issacs’ Disaster is a short read that can be finished in one sitting. The love story happens so fast, and it only takes more or less a week for the plot to unfold. This book is both cute and sexy; highly recommended to fans of fast-paced cheesy romance.
