**Soul Love is a complete re-edit of previously released material AND much more. It combines 2 Novellas, book 1 and book 2 in the Soul Love Series, but, also builds on those books with substantial new content.**
Meeting 'the one', A soulmate, 'Straight out of the blue like that'. This counts as a whole other league of 'unexpected'.
A realm of 'realness' that shakes you to the core. The kind of crazy love you've never anticipated, or felt 'ever'. The kind of love that cuts so deep it makes damn well 'sure' you'll never feel such intensity again.
The kind of love that's a force, too strong to control.
Compulsive and unpredictable.
Not playing by any set rules.
This kind of love is never what you planned.
A celebrity icon with a turbulent past. An introverted career woman with emotional baggage a-plenty to unpack.
Alma can give a thousand reasons why their commitment 'can't' work. Spade prefers to talk-up the stuff that 'can'.
**Dear reader, This realism romance contains previously released material, and large amounts of new work (i.e. unreleased material). It is a +18 graphic suspenseful contemporary black romance, set in California and London, which contains strong language and sexual content, alluding to difficult emotional topics and containing violent themes at times, which the fictional main character's are grappling to come to terms with in their journey to love.**
L.S. Bergman is a British-Caribbean writer of woman-centered adult Afro-Caribbean romantic fiction. Her writing has dipped into multicultural historical fiction, with her release 'Becoming Bessy', but remains focused upon the diversity of the black diasporic experience.
Just when you think the war is over, L.S. Bergman pulls another weapon from her arsenal and it’s on and poppin’! That’s what Soul Love is all about, a war of the heart(s)! Soul Love is a monster novel, not in a literal sense but a literary one, both in depth and breadth. From Malibu to London and back again Bergman paints a vivid tale, one you cannot turn away from.
By the numbers:
1. The story: Bergman brings two unlikely souls together with the provocative pull, lavish parties, and dark corners of the entertainment industry as the backdrop. Love at first sight is an understatement and the angst at play here ofttimes is unbearable. The backstory is woven in subtly with no letup in the tempo of the main narrative. There’s no way these two can be together, no way they can make it. The more than 5,000 miles that separate them geographically is the least of their worries. But that’s not how love works…is it?
2. The characters: Alma and Spade are Adonis and Aphrodite on the surface and described so beautifully by the author but also scarred by past experiences and “life” in general as most of us are whether we want to admit it or not. They are complex to the core, and it’s their flawed portion and the challenges they face that draw the reader in like the proverbial moth to a flame.
3. The writing: Berman’s prose is more cinematic than literary, and Soul Love cries out to be experienced on the big screen. The author creates the movement by melding thoughts, authentic dialogue and dialects, pinpoint short description, and character-defining actions into single passages. In short, you see it. And she doesn’t shy away from the sex scenes. She keeps the door open, giving us the whole story with a healthy helping of romance, a taste of erotica but always raw to the core. I loved it.
Five years ago, I started this Indie writing journey. I’d just finished my first ‘Soul Love’ Series when my mum passed. It was sudden, and a crazy sad time for me, not to mention the stress of going back and forth to the Caribbean from Europe and balancing family commitments. Anyway, my writing really was there for me, and I pushed ahead with the series, kept writing regardless but couldn’t really go back to book 1 & 2. At the time it felt too hard to re-edit with all of the memories in my head.
Fast-forwarding to today, and a lot of writing growth later, but still believing in the original story. Here’s a ‘do-over’, a complete re-edit and a fully-fleshed-out novel. Two novellas now in one book. 'Soul Love'. A book and a series I still love, and feel grateful for irrespective of the bumpy self-pub start lol.
I hope you will enjoy it too!
Peace & Love

Amazon Customer Review:
"Alma and Spade's story is one of intense attraction and all-sweetness, but also of surprise, doubt, and fear. In a sense, it is the perfect love story: two adults who will have to risk all they have - their success, their feelings, their own lives - for what seems too good to be true. But, is it really true??
Those who have read the previous version will find the story both tightened and deepened, with juicy sensual scenes. All the others will be taken aback by the intensity of emotions, sensuality, and musicality this book will put you through!" (Verifizierter Rezesion)
L.S. Bergman's writing voice is fresh, soulful, musical and I love it. I love it so much that when I started this one, I didn't at first realize I'd read (some of) it before. This author's rewrite was creative and refreshing and again I fell in love with Alma and Spade. Truly Soul Love. Bravo, L.S. Bravo.
The story did not feel like a rewrite, more a rebirth and rejuvenation. I have a love affair with great stories and couples whose relationship is transforming. The two characters were an unlikely paring, who blended quite well. I was happy Alma accepted Spade for the man he'd become. I was elated how they grew in love together. Although the original story wasn't broken, I'm happy with the rewrite and way the author fixed it....
This book was good the second time around. I love Alma and Spade. The writer and the rapper/ movie star. You felt the attraction between them as soon as they first met. One of my favorite books.
