Radio Run

Rate this book
Eight criminals face a terrifying fight for survival as they try to make it to Alaska and freedom.

Making it from A to be B is long and the elements are difficult as it is, but significantly multiplied by the cryptids that stand in their way. Giant bugs, mega whales, and huge Sasquatch are all hungry for their flesh.

Survival is the name of the game, but the hostile North American wastelands might not play fair.

This was my first book by Eddie Generous and I really enjoyed it! There was a ton of old school nostalgia that made me smile, yet it was still original. By looking at the cover you might think you have this story figured out, however, there is so much more going on besides a big gorilla looking like me on a bad day.
Eddie keeps the action continuous so the story never feels slack. You feel like you're constantly on the move and looking over your shoulder to avoid getting your ass bit. The characters are well rounded enough that you feel invested in their horrible demise or fight for survival. You want the good guys to win. You want to find out what happens to them. For me, that is what I look for in an enjoyable book.
I absolutely recommend this book if you want fun action in a tale that will make you stop and think about the state of our existence today.

So, I'll admit that I went into this one blind.

I literally downloaded it knowing nothing more than that I liked the cover and I enjoy books by this publisher. And what a nice surprise this was!

Radio Run is a blast of a read. It's got all the fun of Running Man mixed with beasties big and small that all have one thing in common...they're mega-dangerous!

Our characters were so much fun. I will warn you that our author left me heartbroken more than once. But even as I found myself wishing some things had...ended...differently, the author pulled no punches here.

This was an excellent and highly entertaining read. Looking forward to more from the author!

Really enjoyed this fast paced tale of eight prisoners trying to survive to get to a promise land away from the radioactive wasteland they find themselves thrown in. And it's all filmed for an eager audience.

The characters are mainly well thought out but the development does not drag the story down. Also it packs a lot of creature feature madness in its scant 150 or so pages. Overall highly recommended, the paperback has a beautiful cover and is formatted well. Definitely could be an easy one sitting read one afternoon.

Everything I like in a quick and exciting read is found in Radio Run. Monsters? Check. Action? Check. Believable characters? Check. This sucker rolls. And let’s take a minute to discuss those characters. Not only are they believable, Eddie Generous doesn’t do that trick where everyone has a “specialty” that conveniently helps the group. Of the eight, only two really have a skill that contributes to their plight, and those talents are organically introduced. In addition, that character you really like? Better hope they make it because no one is safe here.

Lots of fun and some super interesting characters (some of which I was happy to see die). If you enjoy creature features with lots of action, this book will keep you entertained!

Whoa.. what a run!

This is my first book by this author and I should ask where have you been and not on my radar before now? The world is ruined by a nuclear accident and natural disaster. You either follow the rules or you’ll find yourself in the game show The Radio Run, Hunger Games gone nuts where a team of criminals need to survive to Alaska and salvation or die trying, most and I mean all die by radiation sickness or by beasts. And I mean every huge creature in nightmares are represented. The story is amazing and crafted perfectly, you care about the characters and enough scare, care, gore, sadness, some hope? There is something different about this group, some of them are wrongly accused and need to find survival in the very game they’ve watched themselves. Can they all make it? The ending is.. no spoilers, please read this book immediately! I look forward to more by this amazing author!

Ummmm

Really wish I could rate higher, but I almost feel like I’m still giving to much credit.
Actually had a hard time getting into the book, actually skipping paragraphs in hopes it would get better. The book did improve and the story progressed. Wish we could have seem more variety of monsters other then the set characters used throughout. Yes animals, bugs and birds are pervasive but there are many many more animals that could have been mutated. One mention in the beginning about a 5 legged deer then repeat of same monsters or in most cases bugs and birds which gets rather tedious.
The ending is predictable and yet at the same time unexpected, yet either way was not satisfying.
