Murder most foul
A British war time story. A young widow has a knack of solving cases for the local police department. When another war widow is found murdered she worries that she may also be a target. A good plot and strong characters.

Short story rather than a book
The plot falls foul with the use of American terminology unrealistic portrayal of 1940s town life and police hierarchy it would seem more likely set in the US

A widow is found dead in her rented property by her 7-year-old daughter. Some in the town suspect soldiers from the German internment camp may be to blame. Helen and the tea shop owner, Irene, overhear gossip at the tea shop which leads Helen in a new direction, eventually leading her and Irene to determine the guilty person. And who is vandalizing Helen's belongings pertaining to her deceased husband Roger?

Wonderful book
Book three continues the story of Helen Lightholder as she continues to solve murders in her quaint village and coup with the death of her husband. These books take you back to WW II England with its ration books, dire news of the war and suspicion of enemy agents abounding in the countryside add murder and you have a very good story.

A nice cozy mystery.
This is a nice book with a nice theme and a good plot line. It's not very deep but then it could be just the kind of thing you're looking for. I found it easy reading with a couple of twists.

Even though details are sometimes wrong, the overall feel of this series seems right to me. The setting, the emotions and relationships are believable. It's pretty obvious that Helen is seeking distraction from the mysteries in her own life in investigating this murder. I rather like the inspector who reluctantly lets her in. The killer, however, gets no sympathy from me; what an appalling person!

There has been another murder. Mrs Lowell. Her daughter found her. She had been seeing a gentleman and he is the prime suspect. But nobody knows who he is. An article appears in the paper suggesting that a German escaped from the POW Camp a short distance away from the village and committed the murder. Inspector Graves and Helen go out there to talk to some of the prisoners as well as the guards and also to see for themselves how well guarded the camp is. The guards say that no one escaped and no one could ever escape as it was so well guarded. The prisoners also say the same thing. That means there is a murderer in the village. Who could it be? Once again Helen is going to be helping Sam Graves. Someone has broken into Helen's shop. Another day her home was broken into. She feels like someone is watching her. What does this mean? Come along on this ride and find out how this case gets solved with help from Irene and her husband. I recommend this series.
Characters are interesting and well fleshed out, plot is well thought out and story is well written and edited.

Another murder has occurred with the victims daughter finding the body. The victim was a war widow like Helen. Are war widows being targeted? An anonymous article appears in the local paper claiming the murderer was an escaped POW from camp on the outskirts of the village. In the mean time, someone has been breaking into Helen's shop and home but nothing is missing. What are they looking for? I am totally hooked on this series!

An excellent, riveting series if mysteries by one of my new favorite writers.
Her characters are well developed across the worked. She does continuity beautifully . I am looking forward to her next novel , due for distribution in just a matter of days. I have become a fan.

Men, 1 man, 2 men. Both like her. But.. 1 is danger and Helen does not know it yet
Once again she is in deep in a murder mystery.. But in the mean time,
someone keeps breaking into her shop.. Why? What are they looking for?
