In Dave the Field Trip , the fourth entry in the laugh-out-loud illustrated chapter book series from Pip Bird and David O'Connell, Mira and her unicorn Dave go on a field trip and discover they’re ready for the real world―but is it ready for them?

Unicorn School is a magical place of quests, adventure, and fun. And field trips! Mira and her unicorn best friend, Dave, can’t wait to visit a bunch of adorable baby animals.

But then Dave eats all of his food right away. And some other people’s food, too. Some of Mira’s friends take the field trip rules a little too seriously. And Mira becomes fixated on finding a super-rare, super-cute kitticorn. But does it even exist?

This fourth book in the hilarious chapter book series continues the story of Mira and her unicorn Dave, who’s not the statuesque stallion you’d expect. But Dave has a few tricks up his sleeve that remind Mira―and all of us―that no matter where you go, home is where your friends are.

A fun story of the first school trip Mira and her classmates experience at Unicorn School which will appeal to emerging readers aged 6-10. There's lots of scope to discuss self awareness/ friendship in this book, along with opportunities to identify how people are feeling through body language and you could even invent your own new 'icorn' animal to rival the adorable kitticorn after reading too!😹 A worthy addition to any classroom library, I will definitely be recommending this series to my students.

This is truly a delightful series for children between 5 to 12. The books get better and better. They are filled with hilarious anecdotes, adventures and friendships. This is the fourth that my niece and I have read together. Mira and her class will be going on a School Tour to a farm, where they will meet all kinds of animals. Mira is obsessed with meeting and cuddling a Kitticorn. Will her wish come true?

Violet and I both love these books - the details in the drawings are awesome (the Bruce dolls!) and the stories always involve an element of kindness (the soft toy gifts!). And a Dave is just the right amount of cheeky and clever. Looking forward to the next one!

Maybe Mae's favorite of the series? Girl loves kitticorns, and so does Mira.
I remain entertained with a UBFF (unicorn best friend forever) who is not as majestic as what most people imagine for a unicorn, and continue to find his farts funny. Go Dave!
