Forgiveness is divine weak. A woman who desires revenge should dig two five graves. An eye for an eye makes the world blind is incredibly satisfying.

Will and Sura made me believe I was one of them, only to betray me in the worst way. With a second chance to prove I deserve to be in Libra Academy, I’m going to serve the pain back in spades. I’ll destroy Will’s pride and unearth Sura’s secrets, annihilate their family honor… and stab their accomplices in the back for good measure. If they die, they die, but I’ll be the last one laughing.

My hate for the Shadowed World has been turned inside out, in no small part because of my alliance with Cael, a knight with an inexplicable desire for me. Who’d have thought a vampire would be the one to defend me from my own kind?

With my unlikely ally at my side, I’ll have my revenge on the ones who tried to ruin me. No punishment is too harsh for them. But our feud isn’t the only one, and there are others who want me dead and gone.

Unfortunately for them, I’ve got vengeance to spare.

Bad Blood is the second book of Victoria’s Trilogy in the Bonds of Blood universe, a steamy, medium-burn reverse harem bully romance in a college-age academy setting. This book is for mature audiences and contains triggers.

Two of her romantic interest basically raped her.

The first one manipulates her emotionally to the point of vulnerability and have sex with her, witch is call emotional abuse and rape.

The second one is an incubus, and she didn't know what he was. She is so desperate, the sex scene with him has a very different pace, and both the guys, Will and Sura, take advantage of the situation and film. She wasn't even in speaking terms with them that morning, suddenly she is in a sex frenzy. Gang Rape!!!!!

We are in a wonderful era of awareness, where we are starting to understand all forms of abuse. Is far more easy to find a book with a MC that hunt and kill her abusers then this.

It's very scary when you think a person don't understand this level of violence, and treat as normal. At first i felt pity for this author. It is possible that if Cate Corvin ever experienced something like that, would she dismiss as a petty bully? In reality this is a jail case, that is what her heroes deserve, they are RAPERS.

The reason Will raped her twice, is because of something other person did. His dad hide his mother photo.... what? Is him a ridiculous child? Even the children i know would never be this tiny.

But than i thought maybe Corvin, have her values off, maybe she will be as violent in her Tory revenge as she was with their crime, but no. Tory beat Will grades, and it is supposed to be super cruel, and she gets closer with his dad who is a psychopath. Meaning she only gets in a even more abusive situation.

How this book got published? It dismiss sexual misconduct as bully. I also realize people really think the humiliation true bully can bring as nothing serious. When you are relentlessly targeted to
the point of depression or suicide, such is the degradation, it is not bad enough.

Corvin decided to rape her character to make more painful, recorded her gang rape and send to all social circles in this book. Tory gets slut-shamed for been raped, people calls "her little scandal" and saying is her fault. This behave is unanimous.

Even Tory don't realize she was raped, or that the drug they feed her could have lead her to more rape. Her revenge to all people involved is ridiculous. Only one girl end up dead for one very little offence, i mean it was a big offence but not enough to warrant death, and it was a girl.

Corvin hates woman, she has internalized misoginism. She kills and raped her girls and allow her boys to be rapers and forgive them, they are tiny, petty, who can become monsters for ridiculous reasons and are punished with no dessert, and even redeem themselves. The heroes of her history.

I am so sorry for all of you, who read and liked, for your ignorance. I truly hope none of you are living an abuse that you does not consciously perceive. Even when you don't, your body and mind suffer, the damage is there. Be ignorant just make you unable to seek solution, it only enslaves you.

Thank the heavens, Tori didn't give in easily(which usually happens in bully romances) and made Will and Sura work for the forgiveness. And It's still not clear if they are completely forgiven or not so that's a bonus. Tori is totally badass.

Also, Cael!!!!! I can't sing the man's praises enough. He is just so....aghhh. Love him.

What felt off was Will's sudden attitude change. Yes, It went too far from what he had envisioned but he totally dropped all ill will towards Tori and was enveloped in guilt. Now, as much as I loved that regret of his, the disappearance of all misplaced bitter emotions towards Tori didn't feel natural. He can't become mature in one night. Also, this book was a bit low on steam compared to the last one.

I enjoyed it thoroughly though. There are a lot of factors at play and Tori has new challenges ahead of her. Cael is still a swoony bastard who is helping Tori, as much as he is allowed to, towards her revenge. And that ending statement by Tori brought a big smile on my face!
Can't wait to see what the next book brings😍🖤

I think out of all the books I've read by this author, I like this series the least. I like Carl and Sure, but am not a big fan of Tori or Will. The groveling is old and Tori's reaction to the two is not fun to read. I keep expecting for her to tell one of them to lick her boots and for Will to do it.

Here's why Bully Romances get tricky -

So in the first book, in the end, you have the whole cliched cliffhanger ready - the girl is humiliated by the guys (they share a sex tape with the girl and them edited out to the entire public), gets kicked around by other girls AND is drugged. She begs people to fuck her and somehow in the end she finds the third guy in her harem who helps her.

Now it's the second book - time for revenge.

With that humiliation by the guys, you'd expect her to be the cruelest to them. But no, she takes her revenge against the girls (kills one of them) - I loved it. And I had really expected her to be as cutthroat and brutal with the guys. Of course, I had to keep in mind that the guys are the end goals - so no killing them off. She does play her revenge games with them.

But I expected more. And honestly, no sane strong woman would actually let the guys get away with something that bad. She tries though so kudos to that.

That's why it's a 2 stars from me.

I went in blind. So I hadn't even expected the ending of the book one.

Anyway, the plot is good enough. And I loveeeee the third guy. Honestly girl, ditch the two guys - they are nothing but nuisance.

3.5-4 stars. Well things are really heating up in the series in book 2 here. Victoria is doing a pretty good job getting some revenge.. though I'm not sure why she doesn't let the vamipire filet it up. I was a little put off by her rejection and snobbery towards the other factions but I can see the wheels really turning here and after the events in this book.. I just have no clue where this is going but I'm totally down for the ride.

There is all kinds of shady crap going on in this world.. I mean there are some obvious bad guys for sure, then there are the petty dumb bullies, the reluctant bullies who got their wittle feewings huwt.. and some straight up Aholes. Victoria is slowly getting her revenge but her feelings are going to get in the way I think. Honestly, bad guys are everywhere and she is going to need some more allies.. very soon.

I'm enjoying the series so far even though it is very hectic and I'm not sure how we are going to pull this out. I'm down for the ride.

Hell yes, this is one I’ve been waiting for and no its not an ARC, its an Amazon pre-order. This is the second trilogy by Cate Corvin I’m reading and I’m impressed, fast becoming one of my favourite authors.

Just as good as the first book. A little bullying but mainly Tori kicking ass and taking names. Of course unlike usual bullying stories, this one is more deadly and there's no instant forgiveness. Secrets revealed, punishments dished out and the stakes rising. No cliffhanger but I need to read the next one.

Not just focused on the bullying, other running issues, so this one could go in multiple directions. The characters are just as complicated and I like all three of them, flawed, desperate and remorseful. From start to finish I loved it and can’t wait for more and damn Sura is wow!

There’s never enough groveling, is there?
And she has nothing to apologize for.
They never do.

She was right, in the last book.
Will is nothing like her dead brother, and it’s weird that he’d take such offense to that.

I hated her scene with Sura.
Hated it.
His attempt at ‘playfully’ usurping her earned power and asserting his own was such a repellent, proving he learned nothing, and that she was right to assume all demons were bad.
But what does she do? Apologize.

I missed Cael for the majority of this. The big vampire Viking was more integral to my enjoyment than I thought.

The whole point of her going to this school was to graduate and get her family name on the wall.
We’ve veered so far from that concept and plot line entirely.

I’m not sure I’ll like where we’re headed with this extreme deviation, but we’ll see.

OMG Victoria is just kicka** and I really love Cael. SHe sure does get the perfect revenge Those on her list really deserved what they got. I also loved Cael's sisters and how they brought her in to the family the surprise was just intriguing. So much drama and action and hotness. Will does make up for what he did along with Sura. The Ending was great.

This is a must read series!! You will fall in love with all the characters.

I love Victoria Holmwood!! This girl is a kickass FMC! She is strong and determined. I love how she doesn't let anyone get away with treating her like crap. Poor Will and Sura, they will learn to not get on her bad side. She also does take some warnings to heart. Oh my, now Carl and Victoria, sizzling hot. The chemistry with them two is intense. So what will happen now with all three guys? I am not sure but it should be interesting to say the least.

As you read Victoria is on a mission and is determined to bring her bullies DOWN! During all this There is some nail biting moments, action and steamy situations. I loved how this story unfolded. There were crazy twists that had you saying well didn't see that happening that way or see it coming. I love how you get sucked in from the first chapter and not wanting to put the book down. I can't wait to find out what will happen.

From 5 stars to 4 stars

You know what, I'm actually not satisfied with how her revenge went down. The blurb promised retribution... but imo her enemies got off easy, it didn't feel like an eye for an eye. Not like how it felt with Evergreen Academy by Ruby Vincent.

I did love Will being on his knees though, and he is working hard to be a better man like Tori asked him to do. What happened with Sura felt very much like a body betrayal, so it does not make me happy.

***
I love that Tori didn't really have to lift a finger or do anything but Will and Sura still suffered.

Cael is still my favorite because he's solid and he hasn't let her down.

We get a hint now of what could be a bigger goal other than graduating Libra, which is now something Tori won't be able to do.

I am curious about what will happen next definitely, and how else her relationship with the guys will go.

2.5 stars - I liked tori and cael but if I’m honest there wasn’t enough grovelling from sura and will and that ruined the book for me. The excuses for why they did what they did were so shit it’s unreal and then the grovelling was crap. I know Sura is a demon but do they seriously not understand that tori would of been r*ped if she hadn’t bumped into Cael whilst high on the drugs they’d forced into her, nothing she could’ve of done or said would mean she’d deserved that - and all they could say was she hurt their feelings, big fucking deal!

There’s not really any story or dramatic plot in the book so it’s just these half formed relationships and disappointing revenge tactics so I often found myself bored and growing irritated with the characters, not to mention Cael doesn’t get enough page time.

Bad Blood

Ok we already start the book with a interaction between Tori and Càel ? Oh yeah !! did I ever said how much I LOVE Càel ? Well he really got a place in my ranking of book boyfriends , he and Tori ? Damn me to hell if the aren’t a good couple hahaha I love their interactions.

“She was an easy nut to crack.”
“It was all me. Women find me irresistibly charming.”
“Right. I’m sure it had nothing to do with your widespread reputation for disemboweling and flaying.”
“Are you telling me you don’t find me irresistibly charming, Victoria?”
“Oh, and gizzard-stringing. Can’t forget that.”

But I won’t lie I’m jussst a little angry , because Tori is still a little prejudiced against vampires... poor Càel the guy is a gift from Heaven with a attitude from Hell hahahaha it’s really interesting her relationship with Càel now that she isn’t in good waters with Sura and Will ...for me she could have only Càel that everything could be perfect....yeah I’m still pissed the hell out with Sura and Will and yeah I know in their head what they did made sense but damn that was so low .

Ok the world building is sooo good , I loved the tale about how Lilith created the vampires and moonspawn , the thing about bloodsingers ? When he told they could chose to walk away from this , because Lilith didn’t believe in forced love ? But letting it grow where it will ? ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS .

I’m really intrigued to know what Tori is ....she obviously isn’t a normal slayer, her hot black anger and how she doesn’t feel remorse sometimes even when she almost did something I was really astonished, yeah our girl is revenge incarnate and she is absolutely awesome hahaha . Damn Càel sisters are sooo cool , all the Irish and Viking vibe in them ? Daaaammmnnn and they are really good to Tori too , yeah I wish I could be a Morrígna too .

OMG , OMG , OMG I love this series soooo hard !! I even forgot to write some things when I was reading in my review, yeah sorry not sorry guys hahahah but forgive me because I’m going to start the next one immediately!! That cliffhanger? Killed the shit out of me to be precise hahahaha the things are getting better and better , now our guys and girl are together really...well almost hahaha Càel ? Damn me if he isn’t in my top five book boyfriends now hahaha Sura ? That damn incubus has me too hahaha and Will ? Damn me to hell if I didn’t forgive him too . But the better part ? Is how Càel is going to learn how to share hahahaha .

3/5 stars (Spoilers ahead)

This did surprise me. Book 2 has a lot of personal growth for all the major characters in the story, as well as a needed expansion of the world. Victoria in particular has major development. She starts out this arc as an embittered, vengeful person who could focus on little else. By the end she has embraced a new life and become something she never imagined she would be. I am a little put off by the fact that she did not get a clear choice in the matter, but she's clearly been prepared for it and takes it in her stride.

My major gripe with this second book is that it seems disjointed from the first. The bullying and the harem aspects are a constant, but Victoria's motivations have changed completely. For about 80% of the story thus far, her motivations had been to get her clan name written onto the walls of the academy. A lot of words were spent pointing out that her poverty and her family made her less than worthy of attendance at the academy. Now she will fail to get that. I don't know if I can accept that, and it would be immensely satisfying for me if the third book rectified that somewhat. I know it's realistic that a teenager changes her mind constantly and aims for new life goals, but I kind of expected this one to become a reality, considering how much she values her brother.

Moreover, can I say how refreshing it is to finally see one male character in a reverse harem story who actually feels remorse and turns his life around? Not only that, but he learns that the female lead needs space and time and gives her both, instead of pestering her with apologies all hours of the day. Will is much, much better than Sura in my book, though he is not as good as Cael.

As I sad before, this book did surprise me, and I'm not entirely sure whether this plot twist was a good one. The third book can take it and make it great, or fail it entirely. Nevertheless, it was a good read and deserves special mention for the character development.

Rating: 4.5 ⭐

Finally, a series where the MC isn't controlled by her hormones and actually takes revenge on her bullies.

This story is everything that I want in a book/series where the love interests do horrible things to the protagonist, but it's so rare to find a MC that doesn't melt and forgive their tormentors almost immediately because of lust and the chronic condition of being a doormat. The MC in this series is actually a badass, not because we're told she is but because we get to see that she is, and she actually—systematically and ruthlessly—makes her tormentors pay.

There was also a lot of groveling by the two bully f*ckboy love interests that didn't earn them forgiveness from their victim, which again was super refreshing and satisfying. What they did is not something that should be easily forgivable (if at all) and I was glad to see the author recognized that and made the MC's actions and emotions realistic to the situation.

The best love interest continues to be Cael, who despite his very problematic past as a 1,300 year-old mass-murdering legendary vampire warrior, is actually not an alphahole as one would expect. He is supportive, thoughtful, funny, pragmatic, and extremely devoted. He also refuses to let his age or ego smother the MC, and his respect for her means that he actually treats her as a partner. He really overshadows both of the other male leads.

No.

**SPOILERS**

She’s back, and she’s mad as hell! Tori has vengeance in her heart after Will and Sura betrayed and humiliated her. She goes back to the academy only to strip everything from them. Cael has become a protector and lover, and she needs his help in exacting her revenge.

**THOUGHTS/SPOILERS**

I thought by the synopsis we would get a great book filled with Tori utterly decimating Will and Sura (I don’t care if Will is remorseful) Sura is still a sanctimonious dick. But no. We get a melancholy Will who in a roundabout way apologizes, but he also admits his acts were unredeemable. I can’t believe that Tori forgives them in the end. They didn’t pay nearly enough for the horrors they put her through. And her punishments weren’t nearly brutal enough. I simply cannot enjoy a RH when the MMC are unredeemable. And I lost a lot of respect for Tori. Frankly the only way this book could’ve been salvaged was if Tori kicked both Will and Sura to the curb and found new harem members. They were in no way worthy of her. And it utterly turns my stomach that the author thought “light” punishment was enough, and that they gave her blood. Frankly, it’s what they owed her, even just a little of what they owed her. I detested Will and Sura’s characters. And Bad Blood did not cast them in a better light. A melancholy Will and self righteous Sura did not make for a redemption arc. This book was a huge disappointment IMHO.

Book 2 is empty.

The way I am not even capable of reading more. Not even to finish the book and just be done with it…

Because because because… where is this going? What’s the whole point of the FMC having a harem for almost two books and say “harem” is everything but a harem. The FMC was such a great character until she became an indecisive unflavored character. It pains me what happened to the story…

Yeah, Will and the other demon dude were horrible and that’s the whole point of a bully character and stuff, BUUUT for Tory to be such a spineless character at the end of it all? What? Where is the real revenge? Where is the blood she promised? Ugh… I really think the whole sex tape and the pseudo rape should have been a heavier matter or at least gotten a more severe retaliation or serve a purpose in the plot.

Punishment from anyone! Okay, maybe Tory was in blind love but what about everyone else? She has a right to forgive and forget in the name of sick love but the way this rape-ish subject was handled? Nope… it left a really bad taste in my mouth. So far it didn’t have any big impact or repercussions in Tory’s story other than opening her mind to dating supernatural beings.

I’ve read plenty of dark romance and not once did the other authors wrote about rape in such a frivolously cruel way. It really served no purpose.

So I really enjoyed this book. She’s done bully romance well which is hard to do. The bullies usually go too far and the revenge is usually unsatisfactory.
While the bullies definitely went too far, it’s done from an angle of “it went worse than they planned.”
So it’s more unintentionally too far. And they immediately regretted it yatta yatta.

My issue is the fact that she could have easily been r*ped as a result of their prank is never really addressed. Nor is the fact that Sura kissing her prior to the three way essentially IS r*pe. She couldn’t have said no if she wanted to. Or she couldn’t have wanted to say no?
I get that she wanted to have sex with them but she didn’t consent to do it under an artificially induced lust haze.
Murky waters.
I just wish more emphasis was put on either of those points because I already see them worming their way back in and not once have they admitted, even to themselves that they had sex with her under dubious consent conditions not that they set her up to get r*ped by anyone who came across her. But Sura is already trying to play on her attraction to him and I feel like he just doesn’t get it.

I must say i was a bit shocked with how the whole leaked video scene went in book 1. I don’t think we can even classify that as bullying anymore because it was so much more and i did hesitate to start on book 2. Again, a really brutal ending at the end of book 2 but i’m really keen to see how this plays out.

I definitely think there should be plenty of trigger warnings for these books as they are dark and yes, each to their own. I did enjoy the books so far and am heading on to book 3.

Having said the above, I love the detail in the books around not only the characters as a whole but specific detail around their characteristics and emotions as well. I loved that it wasn’t your typical, predictable paranormal romance and that the characters actually played out as the paranormals they are.

Another plus is having being hooked from the first chapter. That’s pretty rare for me. If something is badly written i’m gone before chapter 2.

All-in-all - a great read with very little fluffy, in your feels moments, intense bullying but all the realness of a truly strong FMC and some steamy sex scenes 😉

"If a vacation ever comes between me and you again, I will find the bastard who gave you a 'winter break' and rip his arms from their sockets."
Isn't Càel the most romantic guy ever? I only have eyes for him. At least he doesn't play games with Tori, and they are so perfect for each other!

Okay so to be honest, I didn't think much of Tori's revenge against the people who put her through hell in the first book. And even though Sura and Will apologized a billion times and (finally!), I still don't like them. Maybe they'll do something in the third book that might make me forgive them but so far they are still jerks to me.

I wonder if after , Tori will be something more concerning her new "condition"...

Pretty Riveting

Honestly the series isn’t too bad. I still don’t get the entire world exactly but I’ve figured out how it works. I really am enjoying Tori but I dislike how she is handling her revenge. Although sometimes I feel like what she’s doing is ok too bc of what happens to her in this book. I also can’t believe that they did what they did, and it’s never mentioned on page, at least not in depth of their plans. And their reasons were very teenager. Aren’t they supposed to be adults? Then again as I’ve aged I’ve learned adulting is like that in fact. And people be something else. The ending of the book was shocking, except for the part where Tori did the dumb. Overall I am enjoying the series and going to read book 3 now.

Talk about a comeback! Wow. Her recovery from her betrayal was a thing of beauty to behold in some ways. In others, I wanted more for those who did her the worst. While I could understand the reasonings, I was still hungry for the blood her enemies to hit the floor at least a little more. I love the unique world we saw more of. There were so many different customs and traditions to observe. I hope she'll dive deeper into some of the other beings because it was fascinating. There were some twists I did not see coming, and I actually never saw being in love so much with Cael lol. Well done on this.

Me & Tori is going to fight

I enjoyed the book overall, but Tori seriously tested my patience. Sometimes I had to stop reading just to take a breath because her outlook on life made me want to throw hands. She’s done some wild stuff, said even worse, and half the chaos in her life is her own doing—she just won’t admit it. Like girl, you’ve killed people and still think demons are the worst? Be for real.
That said, the worldbuilding is still cool, and there’s something about the story that keeps me coming back. I only like Tori about 40% of the time, but I still had fun reading.

Expect the unexpected

I enjoy these books because although reverse harem are not usually my normal genre they offer a different perspective. The story is unexpected at times with twists that I could not forsee unlike the typical boy meets girl scenarios. This one though exceeded my expectations as I did not know the ending was going to be like that and I was surprised that they all rallied together despite their differences and dislike for each other. Their common goal united them so maybe redemption is not off the table just yet.

I've read the first book and was surprised with how much I enjoyed it. So much so that I continued to the second one, I wanted to stop long enough to leave a review of these two books. I'm starting the 3rd and final one and hope it'll be wrapped up with a good ending. Sometimes books can be so good till the writer ends it, I don't foresee that with this author. Which this was my first time finding this writer and already downloaded two other titles due to how much I've enjoyed this read.

Not sure when I read this, but apparently I did according to my Kindle 😂
I will rate it if I reread it.... which is quite possible since the plot is right up my alley and I seem to have flown through all three books.

And not remembering anything about it, does not mean anything in my case: I love to read for vibes, my brain completely shut off.... which means I often forget about books I read or the content. Which in my case is GREAT because it means I can reread my favorites again and again without getting bored!

Cael is Everything (spoilers)

There aren’t many books I’d want to live in...but this book? I think I’d be ok with it. Tori is still the bad B that I love but I will say that I’m glad she has forgiven Will and Sura. Cael is by far my favorite character. His inner monologue just cracks me up! He’s the perfect book boyfriend. Again, this book was beautifully written and I found myself extremely annoyed any time I had to put it down.

I loved this book.

At the end of the 1st book i hated Will and Sura and was looking forward to Tori getting her revenge on them, but then Ms Corvin started working her wordy magic and suddenly i found myself feeling sorry for them, then hoping Tori was'nt to hard on them, to almost loving them as much a Cael.

Brilliant storytelling and such fantastic character development, i can't wait to read the next book.

Similarly to the first one, I also could not put this book down once I started it. I think this book could've easily been an M/F book with just Càel and I would have been happy! Tori made her foes quake in the rich kid boots in this book, and I was completely here for it! Will and Sura were both suffering from going back and forth in their "guilt/anger" tirades, which continued to make them deserving of their punishments... Great character development, writing, and an absolutely intense ending!
