Bridgewater Ménage #3

Leur mariée envoûtée

Rate this book

I got tired of this series quite quickly and by the time I got to their captivated bride I gave up (which I almost never do)! Mostly it was the fact that the main focus was sex.. I'm not opposed to a lot of sex in books, in fact I quite like it and the sex scenes in these were good. My problem was that it was pretty much just sex and not much of anything else, which gets boring after a while..

O Lord Save us from the ignorant clueless virgins ;(

Sorry Ms. " might" have done a good hub w/rather story, but Dear Lord I CAN'T STAND another story around or with another "clueless" virgin..... Heaven help us, historical in nature or not, I'm sick to death of F'ing double standard of men are supposed to be "experienced" ( putting it nicely) while women are supposed to virgins or virginal and quite possibly clueless ( hopefully not this bad) while the " experienced man" (or men in this case) teach her what she "needs" to know ;( Ugh! One I soo can't relate to that, but well swing back to that, but in this day and age ( historical or not) ( she could be a widow or Hell what's wrong if she was "loose" ? Huh ? She could still have the heart of a Lady and definitely needs and deserves Love too) but anyway in this day and age where any body can marry anybody men can marry men and women marry women or Hell a woman can marry the Feckin Eiffel Towel for heavens sake,Why on Earth do we still live in an age where in books and out women seem to be either Sluts ? Or Virgins? Either good, moral and decent or bad, immoral and indecent ? While men are as always free to be what ever they want ( I swear I'm also soo sick of saving/reforming the " Manwhore " stories) ... Deep sigh, you wanna know the Sexiest thing I feel I ever heard a man say in a book ? A time travel romance by Jessi Gage where the sexy Scottish Highlander asks the non virginal woman from the future if " she would please relieve him of his virtue" ,that touched me,a big sexy highlander who's asking to woman to take his virginity, soo sexy to see it reversed for once.... Why can't we have a sweet caring woman who gets to "train" up her man or men the way she WANTS and not in a dominating, emasculating kinda way ? We keep saying it's the 21st century and we've soo f a r at times but it feels this double standard will never change ... Other point I'm swing back to as a 40 something under sexed but non virgin and BBW ( thou need to lost some weight to be the BBW I wanna be) I honestly can't identify or enjoy a virgin who's soo clueless , she's constantly questioning everything they want to do her from suckling on her breast to " they wanna kiss me where?" Of course w/long hair and a frame soo petite one of the men could put his hands on her hips and have his fingers touch ( SERIOUSLY,Seriously how many REAL women are really like that ?) I tried to keep reading when when she up the next morning angry some how thinking they were leaving w/out her why ? Beaches they didn't help her get dressed ? Leaving her " because they'd not gotten what they wanted" WTH? What they wanted ? All 3 were deep frustrated because they hadn't F'ed her yet and wanting to ride as fast they could w/her just soo they could, clueless or not ,where in the Hell did she get that inane STUPID idea from ? No thanks , Sorry Ms. Vale ,I enjoyed "Naked Choke" even w/the confusing title, but as a 40 something BBW who's not a virgin, even though I'm mature in age but immature in nature and attitude this is NOT a book for me,I read to escape and w/the right book I not only do but I'm also entertained and learn about myself in the process,a good M/F/M or M/F/M/M is most definitely a fantasy for me but not one w/deeply clueless and naive virgins who can't even seem to listen and remember what's been said to her...

The third in the Bridgewater Ménage Series has again left many of its readers in a state of wonder. This is a quick read, but really great in terms of plot and development. It can be read as a stand alone, but believe me when I say you won’t want to. Ms. Vale has furthered her ranch at Bridgewater to include a wonderful young woman who has many fears, but overcomes and in overcoming helps her men overcome theirs. It’s probably her development that helps push the story out of the realm of good into the realm of great. Do yourself a favor and take a trip back to the old west with Ms. Vale and the Bridgewater Boys.

1.5 Sweet Olivia Stars

This was not so good... I haven't realized that it was going to be a western themed story with main focus on smut... It didn't work for me at all... Most likely I won't be reading another book from these series...

This a review of the first three Bridgewater ménage books. Thank god I only spent .99 for the three of them.

First of all there is no description of place or development of character in any of the three books unless you count what everyone’s sexual organs look like. So after three books (and I use the term loosely) I have no idea what Bridgewater ranch looks like or how it is laid out or really what the men are ranching. No information on the nearby town, Simms, except its name.

Second -no plot to speak of. Not that the premise of each story is bad , it’s not, but it is never followed through on. For example: in the first book, ‘Their Kidnapped Bride’ one of theHs disappears for 5 days to ‘take care of’ the h’s evil stepbrother. Upon his return with strangers he promptly loses his temper with the h for trying to defend him, spanks her and then rushes off to have angry sex(cause that will solve everything) and we never learn what happened to the evil stepbrother

Okay so the first book was really bad, but I had hopes that the second would be better. It is(marginally). But at this point it is starting to dawn on me that the sexual interactions are abusive, at times bordering on rape. Even though the men insist that they are just ‘tending’ to the needs of their women.

Okay I admit I couldn’t finish the third book. When the h’s 3 (count ‘em 3) husbands drag her down the hall in front of the rest of the group for a ‘good fucking’ because she dared to question them I had had enough.

So in summary if you are up for a sex fest with multiple cardboard characters and no real plot beyond ‘I’m horny, how ‘bout you? Let’s go!’ This book and series is for you. Otherwise, give it a pass

Seems rather repetitive, am not gonna lie but now i am understanding the backstory of the Bridgewater Men.
Three men?? Yikes!!! But I wish this book was longer.

Olivia felt an attraction with both Rhys and Cross, but when her home is ruined and her own uncle shares a secret that shocked the hell out of me, she needed the protection and her uncle was ok with her being with 3 men.

I am still shocked that I am reading these books still, they are just so different from other types of books I read.

LIGHTNING AND LOVE

The story is another great tale in the Bridgewater series—where each book reads as a stand-alone and could be read in any order. The story will have mention of other members of this unique community of individuals. Bridgewater is a town in Montana that has the uncommon practice of more than one husband per wife—a Mohamian custom adopted by soldiers who served in Mohamir.

Clayton Peters will threaten Olivia, and with the aid of her Uncle Allen, she will be protected, but they both know this isn’t the end of their problems. At a local dance, she will meet two unique men who grab her attention. Her Uncle has always told her, you’ll know by the lightning you will feel—but why does she feel this for two men she just met?

“When I find the right man, it will feel like I’ve been struck by lightning.”

Cross, Rys, and Simon are in Helena to purchase a stud stallion for their ranch back in Bridgewater. While Simon is busy making the deal to buy the horse, Rys and Cross will attend a local dance, where they meet Olivia and know she is the one for them. Simon has yet to meet her, but when a fire happens at her home in the night—that will change, and with the encouragement and blessings of her Uncle, she will be married shortly after that and then moved to Bridgewater and kept safe.

“You said you felt a connection, a spark with them, that you were worried about being attracted to two men at the same time. Your head may be telling you it is wrong, but your heart will always tell the truth.”

The story has the good, the bad, the ugly, and the nightmares. For Cross, Rys and Simon, they have each had their share of troubles and worries. But when it comes to taking Olivia as their wife, it is the perfect solution. She was meant to be theirs. They need to get her back to their home in Bridgewater. They will protect her from danger and keep her safe.

“Bridgewater is my home now. Your home. It is where our future is. You are our future.”

Trouble will come, and her quick thinking and actions will make the difference. Olivia is smart enough not to believe the lies she is being told. She will flee and try to find her men, and when lost, she is smart enough to seek a safe place until they can find her. Mystery, suspense, danger, explicit sex scenes, passion, and possession all make up this tale of dominance, submission, and ménage.

“I’m right where I want to be, between the three of you. It means I belong to all of you. Not one at a time, but all of you at the same time, for that’s how it is, in here.”

This was not my favorite book in this series. Oliva was a little bit too much with her "oh, I'm such a innocent virgin" thing. The three men were alot more easy and understanding with her then most people would have been. Overall, it was an okay story line.

Lightning and Love

Sweet and steamy historical romance where the lightning strike of instant love happens not just once but three times!! For Olivia, who’s caught the eyes of Cross, Rhys, and Simon, she gets the family and love she’s always dreamed about!

I liked the characters in this one more than the second, but I was a little disappointed in the connections between the MCs. The heroine really only seemed to romantically bond with one of the Heroes and the others were there just for sex which is not my preference in reverse harems.

I'm glad I stuck with this series since I didn't like the previous book as much. This one was a lot better with full consent from Olivia before marriage and before sex. She's being threatened and her uncle thinks the best way to keep her safe is to marry her to Simon. Simon will share his bride with Cross and Rhys. She agrees with full knowledge of what is to come but she doubts their true feelings for her. Their menage relationship develops as they get to know each other and train her backside to accept them. When danger finds her they protect her and she sees their love. This is a tender romance even though it has them sharing her.

Olivia must be the luckiest Goldilocks ever, having found all three growly bears "just right." Liked the slightly different dynamic in this one. Olivia seemed to have a bit more agency, a bit more presence, than the previous brides. Each of her men was unique and added something to the mix.

Yes, the Belinda/Melinda thing bothered me. Seems like that could have been remedied in the digital file by now.

It seems Bridgewater is becoming better known. Even some of its more radical practices (although maybe not always a correct representation). Here we meet up with a young woman who will find herself in a whole new world. Her uncle, who raised her, leading a secret life and the men who would care for her fully.

There was so much opportunity to develop the characters with depth but sadly it was left to the side for more sex scenes. I'm pretty disappointed about it, because these characters had interesting back stories.

Olivia has lead a quiet and sheltered life, socialising with ladies and attending a few dances and luncheons. She wants to debate, but it’s not the done thing.
Attending a dance with her beloved uncle she’s avoiding the advances of an a obnoxious man.
The thought of marrying Mr Peters has long since fled her thoughts, she may have thought to marry for the sake of it, works grow to love him over time. But to be manhandled and bruised by him is another thing. Talking to her uncle, he totally agrees, but she knows Mr Peters won’t leave her alone.
She needs to avoid him at all costs, but how?

Cross, Rhys and Simon have always intended to marry and love one woman. For her to be their world, cherish and protect her. To have a family they’ve always longed for.
Bridgewater will be the place they will raise their family. Along with other men in their army regiment they’ve build a life. They’ve built a home. Slowly filling the houses up with women, Cross, Simon and Rhys want what their friends have found. A woman to love.

Cross and Rhys meet Olivia at a dance, they are in town to buy a horse with Simon.
They are fascinated with the lovely young woman, she looks like she would fit them perfectly, shy but with a fire in her eyes.
Asking her to dance was easy, enfolding her in their embraces was torture. They needed Simon to meet her, but they know without a doubt she’s the one for them.

Olivia dances with two handsome men, they give her feelings she’s never felt before. But it’s wrong to feel strongly about two men at once, isn’t it?
Telling them about the experience with Mr Peters has her seeing how men protect women properly. And before you know it, her uncle is agreeing for her to be married! To a third man! All this is crazy, but deep down it’s what she wants.

It’s a short story, it’s a fun read.
We have enough sex to keep you happy. We have drama and suspense when Mr Peters comes knocking! And we have three men willing to make a woman happy. What’s not to love?
Me personally I’d like it to be longer. It had the potential to be a longer read, lots of stuff you could expand on.
But if a short naughty story is your thing, then pick it up.

Quick read. More Bridgewater men finding an instant connection with one woman. One innocent woman finding an instant attraction with 3 men.
Editing left a lot to be desired. Changing names - Belinda/Melinda. Evans/Evers. Missing words.

Cross and Rhys spot Olivia at a social dance. They both like her, so she must be the One. Of course, they'll need to Simon in on the decision. Unfortunately, they must hurry up. Olivia is in danger from a local, desperate for her uncle's money. The peaceful evening is disturbed by the attempted arson of Olivia's uncle's house. Solution to keep her safe? Marry 3 men (well one legally) and be whisked off to safety. Olivia's uncle seems perfectly fine with this arrangement. And why shouldn't he? He's been hiding the fact that he is in such a marriage himself. Olivia rides off into the sunset with her 3 strapping husbands. Well, not the actual sunset. Anyway, away they go and proceed to introduce Olivia into the world of being the center of the universe for 3 men. Exhausting, happy days are here.

This quick read is light on plot and heavy on logistics. Welcome back to Bridgewater. Enjoy.

Finally we got a book where the female protagonist wasn’t basically sold off, she had a loving uncle who took care of her since she was little when her parents died.

It turns out her uncle is in a very special relationship that she had known nothing about.

Also something new rather than 2 soldiers our girl has 3! Well technically she was only married to 1 but they were all hers and they made it work beautifully!

There was of course a creeper who wanted her and she has to fight him & run away until her men found her.

But I’m annoyed that this was yet another book where we didn’t get the conclusion we needed (the book before this did) but all the others kept us waiting to see what will happen. The evil father, the evil step brother & now this creeper. We’re told they will take care of things yet we never hear what happened, this bugs the hell out of me!

I also enjoyed the spice more in this book as she didn’t seem like the delicate little thing that they had to coddle like some of the other books.

While trying to escape the unwanted courtship of Mr Peters Olivia feels lightening in the arms of Cross and Rhys at the Hellina town dance. Cross and Rhys might be having fun in town Simon is completing the sale for a stud horse that has brought the trio from Bridgewater Ranch. Events of night get darker Olivia is left with no choice but to seek the safety found at Bridgewater Ranch in the arms of Simon, Cross, and Rhys. Olivia has her eyes open to not only the danger that would happen with her staying her uncle in town but also that the relationship to these 3 men is not forgine to her family.

Vanessa Vale has woven another breathtaking Menage story. While slightly predictable banter of a sheltered virgin there are things that could not have been seen. One of my top 5 authors of 2021. I look forward to working my way there this series and whatever else Ms. Vale has to write.

***AUDIO REVIEW***

Olivia's betrothed treats her in a cruel manner, and being the smart woman she is she rejects him but that in itself does not last too long as she catches they eye of three handsome and virile ranchers. Cross, Rhys and Simon and they are as different as three man could be. but they have one goal in common and that is to offer her the protection of marriage and a lot more.
Olivia worries that her instant attraction and hasty agreement to marry three men stems from a defect in her character. What kind of woman is she, this is not done, no not done at all the attraction she feels and the love she feels for all three of them.
Will she submit and accept what is coming will she love them as they love her, its something you will have to find out for yourself.

I received a free audio for my honest review!

Their Captivated Bride was an enjoyable, easy, quick book to listen on a quiet afternoon. Kylie Stewart the narrator had nice clear voice, she switched off between character in a different voice which I could recognize instantly.

If you are looking for a book to listen to while do chores, errands, on the way home from work or just relax I recommend you pick up a copy of Their Captivated Bride but caution No little or virgin ears around you will corrupt them for life.

3.5. I am usually lenient on my smut/sexy reads because I am mostly there for the sexy. However, this isn't the first sexy series I've read. Like the other series, it brings characters from previous books back, yet this Bridgewater series follows the same storyline over and over. The other series at least had originality with continuing the series but each story is 'down on their luck woman trying to avoid marriage to a bad, abusive man so she marries these random guys.'

I was excited to read all 11 books straight through, but I will take a break. I will maybe return to the series to listen to while driving, but for now, I'll look for authors who can switch it up.

Vanessa Vale is my go to author everytime I'm feeling 🔥 and horny 😁.

Her books never fail to put me in the mood. The words practically burn up the pages!

Olivia has caught the eyes of three brawny ranchers - Simon, Rhys and Cross. In order to protect her, they offered to marry her and take her to their ranch, Bridgewater, where they introduced her to the deep dark pleasures of the flesh...

Hotly lewd, wicked, coarse and crude!

While I'm not generally a fan of the historical genre, I'm a huge fan of cowboys and reverse harems. Hot historical harem, lots of smouldering looks and teaching a virgin how to satisfy her men.

the only hiccup of the book is for a whole page a characters name changes from Belinda to Melinda....then goes back again on the next page. Just a typo I know but kinda important when it's a name.

I generally enjoy Ms Vale’s books. I also enjoy menage stories.

I did not enjoy this story but decided to finish it.

The typos were off-putting.

Is Mrs Tannenbaum Belinda or Melinda.

The story line was very stilted, like someone was following a instruction manual.

Not to Ms Vale’s usual high standard.

Three times the loving. - Listened to Audible version. Olivia never imagined she would be married to multiple men. Well-bred young ladies are not raised for such. But since her uncle shares his wife, why not. Steamy AF with a woman who's not afraid to voice her mind and give a knee to an unwanted suitor.
