Welcome to the dark side of The Hallowed Chronicles. Gabriel's awakening wasn't supposed to be this way. Instead of amongst her kin, she finds herself with devastating amnesia and a boy with the promise of a new life. But when she begins to lose control, the truth is born from the ashes of an ever-growing darkness. Even with the slightest glimmer of hope that appears when she meets a priest named Father Daniel, and his apprentice, Michael, things worsen, bringing forth the darkness in the form of a painful corruption. Thrown into an internal battle between the Light and the Dark, Gabriel finds that if she can't overcome the corruption, she will Fall from Grace and all worlds in existence would go up in the flames of Oblivion. Corruption at its finest. Hell is rising. Angels at their worst. Heaven is collapsing. When Heaven's most powerful Archangel is corrupt, who will save them all?

Born and raised in New Jersey, Angie Anomalous spent most of her time despising reading and writing. With her head in the clouds, school wasn’t easy and as her parents neared divorce, she looked for escape. Only then, did she one day pick up her first book and immediately fell in love with reading. Using books as a way to escape the reality she lived, she held onto another passion — another way of escape and venting; writing.

In freshman year of high school, her writing grew more serious; going from poetry to short stories, and eventually her first short novel not released to the public. During the end of her senior year in high school, her writing flew through, setting new ideas and in 2011, she began writing her first novel, Experiment 6752.
In 2012, Experiment 6752 was completed and self-published on sites like Amazon and Lulu. After her former high school English teacher asked how she would top her fantasy-fiction novel, she replied, “don’t worry, I will,” and began writing her second novel.

Thriving to provide the same comfort books had given her in her childhood, Angie works hard to capture readers in new worlds with original characters yet to be discovered.

I am quickly finding myself addicted with this series. This is the second book in The Hallowed Chronicles and even though it was darker than the first book it was still so good. When I say it was darker I mean it dealt with more adult subjects, it had drug abuse, physical abuse and sexual abuse. It wasn't grungy though, I was able to read it without cringing so I would say it was well written.

Gabriel is an archangel but she can't remember anything about her past or who she is. When she meets Michael (her twin brother) he informs her of what she truly is. After a short time Michael notices that she has been corrupted by the darkness, which isn't at all good for all of human kind. If she can't fight the corruption then the strongest archangel will be fighting on the dark side.

First of all poor Gabriel for everything that she went through before Father Daniels found her. She had to go through a hell of a lot more than anyone deserves to and I was glad when she ran into that corrupted council member. Emotions or not Gabriel was a total badass and proved that she was indeed the strongest archangel, she lived up to that title. Her love for Chris was amazingly heartwarming even when she thought she had no emotions she still managed to love this little boy.

The sibling love between Michael and Gabriel was so strong. Even when Michael was hurt by Gabriel no longer having any emotion, he still fought along beside her. To me there is no stronger bond than that of siblings and this proved my thoughts right. I wish I was this close with my own sister because life would be a lot more enjoyable that way.

I wish I could talk about the ending but there is no way of doing that without spoiling it. All I can say is I need book three like yesterday! Angie Anomalous does a fantastic job writing a fast paced, exciting book. I love her writing style and look forward to reading the next book in the series.

I'm so honoured to receive this copy from the author after I reviewed the first book of The Hallowed Chronicles series - Uriel.

Gabriel is not a continuation of the first book but it actually talks about the journey of the most powerful Archangel - Gabriel, on how she endures the pain of corruption and how she overcomes it.

Even though Angie had warned me several times on the darkness of the book, I found them necessary as the plots should be there to illustrate the corruption faced by Gabriel.

Like the first book, I love Angie's writing as it is straightforward and fast-paced. Even though sometimes I found some minor editing problem and several repetitive phrases presented in the book, in overall, this book brings great pleasure in reading it.

Apart from the struggle of Gabriel on fighting her inner demon and corruption, she's lucky to have the sibling love of her twin brother - Michael (also an Archangel). The book ends with a cliffhanger which makes me eagerly want to know what happen next. The next book - Raphael supposed to be out on October 31st but I guess the publication date has been postponed.

I give this book a 4-star rating and highly recommended if you love to read stories about angels.
