Must read book for anyone in the process of defining and delivering an API initiative at enterprise level. This book covers the full lifecycle of API management. From early stages of defining a business case, to architecture patterns, selecting the right API style and implementation -including organisation models.
This is the most complete API Management book that I have read. Its very easy to read and gives you a complete picture about what APIs are, how to implement them, how to make money out of them and how to incorporate them successfully within your organization. A lot of effort has gone into this book! Well done.
Excellent book, walks through the entire API lifecycle. From business problem statement, business case, planning, architecture, delivery and operations model. Must-have reference book for any API practitioner.
It covers several API topics, including their evolution, patterns, architectures, business value, and methodology. It's concise and focused, I would have liked some more depth, but either way, I got a few useful ideas.
A useful book to understand API management from a high level. I'm not a specialised API developer but I found it interesting to see how complex API management can grow and why such books can help with it.
I found the book to be a great introduction to the subject of APIs. The landscape is always evolving fast, so perhaps some aspects of the book are not fully up-to-date. Nevertheless, it offers a wide view of different subjects that range from the role of APIs as source of revenue for business, history and evolution of APIs to the present day, API lifecycle, architecture patterns or how to organize teams around APIs following the precepts of Conway's Law and DDD.
