Ebony Pollard has taken on the very difficult task of honesty in writing. She's written a self-help kind of book, true, but she's done it in her own voice, with her own experiences, and she's expressed simple methods of processing and growing that we can all implement.
A lot of self-help books a.) Leave Jesus out of them, & b.) Get so full of themselves & their vernacular that the average person is completely overwhelmed (that's actually why I don't read self-help books😆).
I need REAL advice, people. I need instructions that aren't overshadowed with criticisms. I need things I can do, things I can implement, that are in agreeance with the Gospel & that pull me in closer to God, not that make my eyes roll back before I finish the first chapter.
There's plenty of space for journaling in this book, so I am hoping to go back and process the insights more slowly...to digest these premises, & to learn these methods so they become natural habits.
It's a fast read, but it's a lifelong review.
I, for one, am looking forward to breaking new ground as a "Resilient" woman. #Resilient
