Why do people build with arches? Why do we use stone in some places and wood in others? What's a foundation? How do you plan a road or construct a bridge? The answers to these questions can help gamers in Minecraft and in the real world! Through building their own structures and systems in Minecraft, young readers and gaming fans will learn about the past and present of human engineering, with a vision toward the future.
maybe i'm overthinking this at my big age but this really had nothing about engineering tips or redstone for the game. it was super surface level even for people new to the game. Loved the commitment to using the same picture of Steve no less than seven or eight times between the pages, though.
Based on the content, and of which there is insanely miniscule, the title and intent and (even per an imaginary target youth audience), must really be a joke. It should be called, "Don't stress the lack of (applicable) engineering", (which we all knew there wasn't), also per the games' target audience. Or. "How to beat a creeper: for newbies"
This pretty much goes over little to nothing in terms of engineering in Minecraft. Sure, there are some interesting things about the blast stuff but otherwise, I don't think there's anything to learn from this. Even knowing that this is for a younger audience, most everything in here is understood the moment they place a block in the game.
This book was overly simple - even for someone like me who just started exploring this whole Minecraft thing. There wasn’t anything I took away from reading this that I didn’t figure out just by playing.
