Meet the Blackthornes. They're the criminal element's answer to the Noble family -- rich, powerful and deeply dysfunctional. Hidden agendas, secret romances and dark pasts converge in this sixth collection of the long-running series.
This book includes a lot more sexual shenanigans then the peevious installments. Not that the other books were free of it, there is just a lot more here. Including a lesbian relationship that shows the age of the story a little it. It ages it because it's not used to teach any lessons, nor is it really used to titillate the male audience, no more than any of the other sex. And, there is some talk about wanting to hide it. And while there is still action and heroics here, we've dialed it back down again to lean into the drama once more.
Another fun volume - the Blackthornes add a good bit of spice. Kind of funny this has more lesbian representation in one issue than Invincible has in 144, but it is also 2000s-style 'girl-on-girl is hot'-adjacent representation.
I'd forgotten they basically did a stealth preview for Dynamo 5 in Noble Causes.
If you've been following the soap opera so far, Zephyr has a secret identity, The Blackthorn's family make their move, Rusty has a new body, and lesbians!
