Faeber writes in a fast way. You don't have to wait for very long for the drama but this title doesn't feel as fresh as DYNAMO 5. I suppose he got better with age? Also, this volume features a lot of beginner art and way too heavy lined inking. Doesn't give much depth. It would also be fun to see this team of heroes fight some villains.
Still very readable, but still rushed, which still hurts the credibility of some of the scenes. For instance, much of the story is about romantic and/or sexual relationships, but some of them just don't quite make sense at this pace. I did think that the "crossover" aspect of the story was kind of funny, with cameos by characters from all over the other Image titles.
The family is still mourning Race's death while Zephyr's baby daddy is the big mystery. I like how this is used to actually tie into some of the other Image titles of the day. This is truly a soap opera hidden behind a superhero family and I dig it. Ian Richardson's art is pretty good. It's no Patrick Gleason though (who did the first trade.)
Hello super hero family train wreck. Even Jerry Springer and Dr. Phil couldn't put this dysfunctional family back together again. Which just makes it one hell of a train wreck that you can't turn away from. This is a soap opera for the fan boy/girl and it offers up more twists than you can shake a stick at.
