Opening Jesus’ most famous sermon, the Beatitudes frame some of our deepest human struggles against the backdrop of the coming, eternal kingdom of God. These eight blessings are entirely contrary to the principles of the world, promising the Kingdom to the common people, those whom earthly success has largely passed by: the poor, the meek, the persecuted, the peacemakers. The Beatitudes reveal a heavenly Kingdom not organized from the top down, but from the bottom up.
The “Beatitudes: On Earth as It Is in Heaven” reading plan dedicates one day for each of the eight beatitudes, plus a day at the beginning and the end of the plan for context. We will memorize all eight beatitudes over the course of this study—reminders of the right-side up promises of Christ and His kingdom in the midst of our upside down world.

He Reads Truth and She Reads Truth are worldwide communities who read God’s Word together every day. Founded in 2015 and 2012, He Reads Truth and She Reads Truth invite men and women to engage with Scripture through daily curated reading plans, online conversation led by a smart and thoughtful community of contributors, and resources created at the intersection of beauty, goodness and Truth. This community of “Men and Women in the Word of God every day” represents a long list of cities and countries, a variety of backgrounds and traditions, and countless real-life stories. But there is a commonality that binds us: we believe God’s Word is Truth. So we read. Every day we read a new passage together—working our way through books of the Bible, topics that matter, and seasons of the Church calendar. We engage with God’s Word and with each other. And we keep coming back, on the hard days and the good days, because God and His Word never change, regardless of our circumstances.
Kids Read Truth, founded in 2016, produces resources designed to equip kids with biblical literacy and instill in them a love for God’s Word.
